“Sophia, you broke my heart. So, I’m gonna break this heart of yours too. I’ll do so by betraying you and killing you. Ripping your heart into two because that is exactly what you did to mine!” She raises her voice and I scream as she gives me the first hit on my arm. As usual, it spews out tints of blood. The expression on my face changes as she gives the second hit. I look clearly at the dagger and its clear form of glittering and I sigh.
“Until you die.” Then she aims my neck. She directs the dagger there, and an inch to conclude her plans, she is being thrown away by fiery claws. My hair wipes my tears, and I clearly see my Saviour. As my brain tries to register who it is, the saviour quickly does the deal and I forget everything. He carries me with his hands and heads to another direction, his penthouse maybe.
ROSE’S POV
It is the best time to kill Ben. I have retrieved a little from his power. It is my weird friendship with Ben that has made me realize that he has a wizard trait in him. He’s a dumbass for not realizing my mission, wait, why would I suddenly like you? ‘Cause you saved my ass and conveyed me to school the other day? Well, it’s to my benefits.
I have said it, and I am still saying it. Sophia must not get mated to Ben or Jude. Not even Maxwell again. What surprises me now is that even Robert has been making plans to kidnap her and travel to Arkansas to have her as a mate there and create his pack members and pack house through creepy and subtle means. This is the reason why I have finally decided to eliminate Sophia but I just can’t. I have to but I can’t, I only stab her in her arms, I would have stabbed straight into her throat but that’s not me – I can’t!
I didn’t wait for Ben to teach me his house because I wanted to pick up the Vampire’s diaries Sophia claimed her Dad gave her first before anyone else picks it up. But after ignoring Sophia’s warning and jerking the door open, I only see a pit – that same pit where Sophia was trapped in and where Dylan came to her rescue. That same pit that leads back straight to my clone’s abode. This is a tip to get my mate and also maybe to save Dylan if he has not died totally.
That same pit that I was instructed by three voices in different pitches to stay away from Sophia or else I’d…
I am about to stab her in her neck and kill her finally as I shut my eyes. My hands go straight down with the dagger, to her neck but the unfamiliar scent from the pit arouses and my nose registers that scent. To open my eyes and think of what’s happening, I’m being thrown away, poof!
Dusts gather in air and the object lifts Sophia off of the ground and takes her to where I don’t know. I rub my eyes and they blink in response. I see Ben giving it his best to defeat the rogues. A rogue is left to fight, I try to shift and help him with that but a hand waves at me not to. At first, I think it’s Ben but nope, it’s another vampire.
“Who is it?” I wave back, and a lot of vampires troop into this place. The Alpha smirks, and walks up to me.
“Hand Sophia over to me, or else consider yourself a dead folk.” He orders, and his members cheer.
“Jude?” I ask, too shocked to believe.
“Who is Jude?” He rolls his eyes at me.
“Alpha Jude, sorry.” He hits me on my forehead.
“Who is Alpha Jude?” His members start to murmur. I nod my head in both agreement and disagreement.
“Tell me! Who is Alpha Jude? Is he the one that held Sophia captive?” He barks at me, and I move back a bit.
“Alpha Jude of the SplitMoon pack.” I clarify since he won’t stop moving nearer with squeezed and fuming lips.
“It’s because you’re new here, boss.” A member whispers into his ears but I clearly hear. “She doesn’t know you as the new Beta.”
“Beta?” I think. “So he’s even just a Beta.”
“What is the name of your pack, and what do you want from me?” I ask him.
“The name of our pack remains anonymous, and who we want is Sophia.”
“Why should I release her?” I retort.
“Then you’re ready to die.” He says.
“Destroyer.” He says and three vampires step forward.
“Pounce on her.” He clips, and winks at me in fury. As they try to pounce on me, I plead for help loudly since I know shifting won’t help me here. I look around this arena and I can’t find Ben at all.
“Where is Ben too?”
“Who is Ben?”
“The vampire you were initially arguing with.”
“Alpha Jude, Ben. Take note.” One of the members whisper into another’s ears.
“Sophia is not with me.” I say, and start to shift because I’m pissed off. I shift and Cate takes the control instead of Debe. I return to my human form and take to my heels. On my way, I see Ben gasping for breath. He holds my feet down as he sees me.
“Rose” he says “please, wait.”
“Quick.” I retort, and we both start to flee but they soon catch up with us. At once, three horns shoot out of Ben’s head and he dashes towards them. Since he can’t defeat them all, he switches to his wizard form – he starts to turn them into transparent beings. They start to split into two tiny and light beings. I can’t but wonder and be shocked. I turn my back at him, and as I try to move a step, a force holds me down and I become stiff.
The members have been turned into their CLONES, Oh, it is Ben that does turn superhumans into clones, I’ve got a tip from him again. All the original bodies of the members have vanished but the head of the team suddenly appears in front of us with Sophia clutched onto his back.
“Who are you, and why are you with my mate?” Ben speaks up with confidence, and the man lowers Sophia down. He unbuckles a tie covering his neck and there is the mark.
The one and only mark – Moon Team’s.
Dylan is back. I’m both happy and sad.
