“What do we do, Dad?’ I ask him, shuddering. Mum is shuddering too while Dad’s jaw is moving up and down.
“Dylan, we need you right here.” Karl orders through mindlink. I and mum hear that.
“Yes, I’ll be right there.” Dad faces mum and mum nods.
“Yes, you can do it.” Mum says to him, and hugs him. Dad opens the door at once and goes out. He comes inside again, almost immediately, and asks mum for her attention.
“Your attention will be needed there. Once I mindlink you, please respond and come on time. Okay?” He rushes the word out of his mouth.
“Dad, you’ll be fine.” I tell him, and he whispers thank you.
He opens the door, and shifts right in front of the sitting room. He shifts just so briskly, and darts in the southern direction, to the penthouse.
DYLAN’S POV
Duke gives me control immediately I enter the penthouse by the rear door.
“Greg, I’m here.” I mindlink Greg once I reach there.
“To the Lord’s throne.” He forces a reply.
“Alright.” I reply, and creep into the penthouse, then into Karl’s official room. Other pack members bow their heads still not minding that they were in danger. I nod my head as I pass by them. Then I stagger as I grab hold of the door knob.
I knock on the door silently.
After few minutes, say three, Greg opens the door, and bows as he guides me to where I do sit.
“What did you say happened?” I impatiently ask.
“The Great Alpha is just near us.” Karl says, and I turn to see him standing and managing to talk. I bow my head, and squat.
“Who…” I stutter. “is the great Alpha?” I ask.
“Alpha Jude of the SPLITMOON pack.” He clarifies.
My eyes widen at his response, and I stare at him for a while, memory refusing to register it in my brain. Too shocking.
“SPLITMOON?” I ask again.
“Yes, SPLITMOON. They have seven strong Betas. We have only two here. Two cowards.” Karl remarks.
“Maybe I should just end my life here.” He complains, and a knife sticks out of his pocket. He tucks his hand into his pocket, and brings it out. He points it at his own neck.
“Oh Alpha! Don’t do this!” Greg remarks, and marches to save Karl.
He doesn’t listen. He tries the first hit. It goes smoothly. He tries the second, after landing us fists which send us backwards with loud thuds.
As he tries to hit himself the third time, someone enters. Without knocking on the door.
“Alpha Karl of the MoonTeam pack.” She bows her head as she shuts the door behind her. Karl holds the knife gently and subtly hides it behind him. He heals himself immediately, and speaks up.
“Lord Karl?” The female who entered asks.
“Yes?” Karl replied with a husky voice. “Who are you?”
“I’m Thomasine, the Luna of the Red Wolf pack.” She clears her throat, and takes a seat.
“And what are you here for, and did you get in?” Karl asks, and Greg blocks his nostrils. Why won’t she get in? A pack is here to fight us. She might be one of the seven strong Betas. Who knows? But wait, she kind of smells nice. Greg affirms this.
“Did your perfume get so awful?” Greg says, almost puking as he clears his throat hundred times.
“No. I did not even use one.” She winks at Greg, and Greg stares at me then at Karl before returning the wink.
“So, Luna Thomasine?” Karl repeats.
“I’m here to help your pack members from the attack by SPLITMOON pack.” She says, and Karl sits up.
“Oh, that must be interesting.” He smiles, and drops the dagger downwards hmthe throne. “How, Luna?”
“Through a Vampire’s blood.” She replies. “Do you have any Vampire here with you?”
Thank goodness Karl doesn’t know that Isabella is a Vampire.
“No, we don’t.” I reply instead.
“Then It’ll be tough to deal with them.” She analyzes.
Karl sighs, and reclines on his chair. The official throne.
“If it would interest you, SPLITMOON pack members are more of vampires than werewolves.” She explicates. “We need a Vampire’s support to fight them.”
“And since we don’t have one, I suggest we make peace treaty with them.” I suggest.
“That’s so bad a suggestion, why should we?” Karl retorts.
“Then give us a Vampire.” There goes my reply.
A knock on the door draws our attention as we all face the doorstep, impatiently expecting someone to come in. But no. No one comes in. They keep knocking on the door. Not one knock now. Many.
“Alpha, we are being tied down.” Sam, one of the members, mindlink Karl.
“Ha!” Karl retorts. “Who’s it?” He shouts.
“You may come in.” Karl says.
“You may come in.” sounds and resounds in his ears as the door jerks open.
Alpha Jude.
“Good day to you and your bond members.” Jude smirks as he walks up to Karl. Without wasting time, he lands a slap on his chin, and Karl falls flat to the ground. Seeing this, Greg clutches his hands into Luna Thomasine’s, and flee. Jude is coming over to my direction.
“Good day, Alpha Jude.” I bow my head as we are at stone’s throw to each other now.
“Hey idiot, I heard you’re so brave.” He snubs. “Demonstrate your brevity right here.” He hits the ground with his feet, and that spot gives a streaked slash.
“Well, if you wanna know, I’m not here to hurt anyone. That’s if you don’t get on my nerves though. I’m here to retrieve my mate.”
“Retrieve my mate.” He repeats, and I shudder.
“Hurry the fuck up!” I yell, mindlinking Isabella. “Out of this province! Just go!” She says okay and I hear her marching around the house, through my mindlink still.
I look at Jude who is still smirking.
“Where is your mate? We will surely return it to you.” I tell him but he throttles my neck in response.
“You asked her to hurry the fuck up.” He says but I try to hide my surprise. “Isabella, that’s my mate.”
“Stupid Omega. I’m getting her or killing you.” He affirms, and straightens up his body. He opens the door and they all get out. His seven strong Betas.
