At this moment, inside Kent’s construction site
Blanche accompanied Kent to the construction site for two days in a row to supervise him before he could relax a little. Blanche was always fit, but the excessive labour for two days in a row was still a little too much.
Kent was wandering around and came back to see Blanche rubbing her forehead, her lips white and her face blue.
“What, could it be heatstroke?”
“No, I probably didn’t get enough rest.”
Without saying a word, Kent picked her up and carried her across the room in the direction of the car.
Blanche was taken aback and before she had time to react she was already being carried to the car.
“Wait, Kent, I’m really fine, I’m just a little tired, don’t worry about me.”
“I’m worried about you, let’s go to the hospital.”
Kent was extraordinarily insistent.
Blanche squeezed her palms, thinking that the project had only just started and that she wouldn’t allow anything to go wrong, so she said, “I’ll drive myself then, so you can keep watching the site.”
“The site is in order now, it’s okay if we don’t need to be there.”
“But, you’re the main man …….”
Kent glanced back at the man in the back seat of the car, his face a little hard, “And I sure as hell wouldn’t forgive myself if I worried that much about that land and neglected your health!”
The man’s voice snapped, and the words that came out of his mouth made it impossible to utter a single word in rebuttal.
Blanche, seeing his insistence, had no choice but to compromise.
They both rushed to the nearby hospital, where anaemia, lack of sleep and heat stroke were all signs of her condition.
The doctor took one look at the two of them and said, “You two youngsters, you have a long life ahead of you, why do you have to work so hard, you don’t take your bodies seriously!”
Kent looked like he was being obediently trained, then nodded his head repeatedly, “Yes, it’s my negligence, I’m sorry to trouble the doctor.”
The doctor gave him a sultry look before withdrawing his gaze to give Blanche an IV.
“But it’s okay, you still know to come to the hospital, this is not good for the baby if you take the medicine recklessly and casually, if there are any problems with the fetus in the future, I’ll see how you can blame yourselves!”
“Yes, yes, yes.”
Kent nodded his head like a garlic, “I’ll be sure to pay attention ……”

Kent’s face froze with a smile as he looked at the doctor who was still chanting in front of him, a little slowed down, “The baby …… baby!”
“Yeah.” The doctor gave watched the nurse place the needle before saying, “Don’t you as parents know that? Your wife is pregnant and the baby is a month old.”

Kent was a little stunned, his head almost going blank.
Blanche was also frozen in place, half-unmoving.
She glanced down at the small of her back, unable to react.
She was having a baby in her belly? And …… had been for over a month?

Blanche wanted to laugh, but didn’t dare to be too reckless in the hospital.
She held her tongue, but Kent in front of her burst out laughing, “The baby, I’m having a baby?”
“Blanche!”
Kent’s eyes reddened slightly and he stepped forward and held her tightly in his arms, “Blanche …… we’re having a baby, we’re having a baby ……”
The doctor eyed the excited young couple, who clearly just looked like first time parents.
But it seemed that because the duo’s joy had also infected him in general, making him unconsciously also grin a smile to the nurse at the side, “You keep an eye on it, tell the pregnant woman to pay attention to some diet, and also take something to replenish blood.”
The nurse nodded.
And by now Kent was mad with joy.
Having his own family for the first time in the true sense of the word, mixed emotions welled up in his chest, leaving him unsure of what to do.
And at that moment, he just held the woman he loved tightly, as if she could feel his emotions that way.
Blanche hesitated before coming back to what seemed to be some heat on her shoulders, and it took her a moment to realise that they were the man’s tears.
She remembered Kent as always being confident, she had never even seen him look frustrated when he was struck in any way, and here he was, a 6’8″ man leaning on her shoulder in silent tears.
It was a mixed bag of emotions like that.
She bit her lower lip and silently hugged him back, sharing her feelings with him at the moment.
“Blanche ……”
It was a long time before she heard the man’s voice, which had not yet calmed down.
“I am.”
“Thank you.”
Blanche suddenly lost her smile and took his face in her hands, and she looked at him as if her small face also carried a maternal glow.
She asked, “Was it like a dream?”
“Mmm.”
Blanche gave him a quick peck on the lips and said tentatively, “How about this?”
Kent giggled at the small woman’s look, “It seems …… more unreal.”
“Idiot!”
Blanche pouted, her red lips pressed up and nibbled silently on his lips, the slight pain coming from his lips making him extra conscious.
It also made him realize once again, in a profound way, that what was happening at this moment was real ……
The nurse blushed at their intimate appearance and eventually snuck away, leaving space for the young couple, who had just been blessed with a child.
Blanche took a few breaths before the kiss ended.
Her forehead rested against his and her almond eyes arched, “And now?”
“Couldn’t be more true!”
Kent’s voice, laced with joy, fell.
His large hands cupped her face and he looked into her eyes, “Blanche, let’s get married ……”
“Yes!”
She responded with exceptional alacrity and without hesitation.
Kent had a flash of embarrassment, “But I don’t have anything ready, flowers, rings, kneeling, and a declaration ……”
The more Kent said, the more he panicked, thinking that before he could give anything to the woman in front of him he would have to cross these important steps and go straight to the last one.
“No need.”
Blanche reached out and covered his mouth, “I don’t care about any of that, all I want is for the groom to be you.”
It was a love she had thought would be fruitless, and now that she had gotten so much she should have been satisfied, she would have been damned if she wanted to continue to be greedy ……
Kent’s hand fell on the small of her back, his eyes soft, but his mouth unforgivingly chiding, “This little one is so untimely, appearing so suddenly without his daddy being ready for anything.”
Blanche arched her eyes and smiled, “And did Lewis, sir, think it was a surprise or a frightening?”
Kent looked over at her, his lips curving in a confusing curve.
He lifted his hand and tapped her on the head dotingly, “Silly, as long as it’s you, whatever happens, it’s a surprise.”
