Kent carried him straight to the table and sat down, looking at Harvey with a look of confusion.
“Why did you suddenly bring this up for a good reason?”
He was a little confused as to the meaning of his words.
Harvey nuzzled, “Because no matter what I say or ask you guys end up stonewalling me and not letting me know more, so I’m wondering if kids really can’t know that much that they shouldn’t know, huh?”
He mused, his little face a rare stony one.
Kent snorted out a laugh, “I think you need to explore these things for yourself.”
“But Daddy and Mommy won’t even tell me.”
“And did it ever occur to you that they just wanted to protect you? They want you to be as innocent and lively as a child when you’re still young, not as deep in a rut as they are over their own affairs.”
He was still young and really didn’t understand those burdens that adults carried between them.
Harvey lowered his head and pondered abruptly.
Kent didn’t bother him, just pinched his delicate cheek and said, “Well, I’ll go get the food and prepare the dishes, think about it, and when you do, maybe you’ll know they’re not actually trying to hide it from you specifically.”
Elena Bush and Logan Brown just wanted to give him a calm and harmonious world in which he could grow up on his own without any worries.
Without waiting for Harvey’s answer, Kent had already gone back to the kitchen to help.
In no time at all the table was full of mouth-watering dishes, and Harvey hadn’t been expecting much, but was soon amazed by what he saw.
“Wow, Uncle, so you’re such a great cook!”
No wonder he was so confident just then.
Kent smiled smugly, “That’s natural, I’m your uncle!”
Blanche and Elena Bush sat down next to each other and Harvey sat between Logan Brown and Elena Bush, Harvey was being extra pampered at the moment, even letting Logan Brown do all the work of adding the food on his own.
Elena Bush looked incredulous for a while.
However, it didn’t take long for them to be defeated by Kent’s food and they didn’t have the heart to speculate on Harvey’s intentions.
After eating, Kent playfully came up to Blanche with an ambiguous smile, “Blanche, are you going to sleep in a separate room from me tonight ……?”
“Yes!” Blanche didn’t hesitate, “I asked specifically today, it turns out that sharing a room is your intention!”
She wouldn’t dare to be alone with him if he didn’t have good intentions.
Kent’s heart thumped at his words, and he busily went after her and tugged her, Blanche struggling a little.
Blanche struggled. The two were just tangled up, but the next moment they started to fight each other.
Blanche’s move fell short, and when she was annoyed, Kent had already struck back before she could react, and they both fell to the sofa.
The man pinned her down, their breath hitting each other’s faces, and the sound of their heartbeats seemed to be all that was left of each other.
Blanche blinked her eyes, her face as normal, but her heart had been thumping wildly before that.
Kent hooked his lips, taking in her reaction, “Blanche, you’re not saying anything, are you waiting for me to kiss you?”
“No!” Blanche jolted and subconsciously tried to push the man on top of her away.
Kent’s body was like a rock, unable to push at all, leaving her helpless and exasperated.
“Blanche ……”
The man lowered his voice, his eyes reflecting nothing but her at the moment.
Blanche’s heart was in turmoil and she couldn’t help but look away sheepishly stammered, ” what for!”
“Why don’t you stay with me tonight?”
His body pressed down a little, and his voice sounded as if it was right next to her ear.
Blanche’s mind was in turmoil and she didn’t know what to do.
She didn’t know what to say and was immediately caught in a dilemma.
Kent was so pleased to see her at a loss for words that the corners of his lips could not help but curl up slowly in a nice curve.
“If you don’t say anything, I’ll take that as a yes?”
“No, no ……”
Her reply was as soft as a mosquito’s cry, almost inaudible.
“Why?”
Kent pressed on as if he’d caught her in a sore spot.
Blanche’s mind went blank, searching her brain for something to say or an excuse to say, but the more anxious she was, the more nervous she was, the more she couldn’t say anything.
“Blanche ……”
The man’s voice was tinged with a bit of loss, “Am I that bad in your eyes?”
He spoke softly, “Blanche, I can actually …… be decent, and I want to treat you well.”
Blanche was speechless for a moment.
Kent saw that she didn’t answer lifted his hand and stroked the strands of hair on her forehead and said wickedly, “Or …… do you want me to do something?”
“No!” She immediately shook her head.
“Then I won’t do anything.”
“……”
Blanche looked creepy.
Kent couldn’t help but frown at her torn look curious, “What?”
“Melissa said that men say things like that, but once something goes wrong they say they can’t help it ……”
As she said that, she looked at him again in confusion.
Kent winced subconsciously, barely able to say anything in rebuttal.
After a few moments of stalemate, Kent finally lost the battle and shrugged his head, “Well, I’ll find you a room to clean up so you can rest tonight.”
The tone of his voice, however, made Blanche feel as if he had done something wrong.
As he was about to get up, a small hand slowly reached out and tugged him to his feet.
Kent looked over suspiciously, but saw Blanche slowly say, “Actually …… I’m not afraid of what you’ll do, it’s just that ……”
The two had only suddenly established their relationship, and if the two of them were to spend any more time together in a closed space, she wasn’t sure if she’d actually get carried away.
“Hmm?”
A smile flashed under Kent’s eyes and was pressed back down.
Blanche was driven a little mad and slammed a fist into his chest indignantly, “You’re a man, you should feel the same way shouldn’t you?”
At a loss for words or what to do, let alone how to get along like the usual nothing ……
“I understand.” Kent laughed lowly, “I understand everything you said.”
Blanche’s cheeks flushed.
“Ah!”
A small cry of surprise came from the two of them, and they looked around in shock.
All they saw was Harvey with his hands tightly covering his eyes, but those dark eyes were looking over through the gap between his fingers, a smile and curiosity written all over his little face.
