Chapter 679 For Me

An apology?
Kent snorted as he looked at the woman in front of him who looked like she was coming to fight, “What kind of apology is that?”
“Then what do you want from me?” Blanche was a little annoyed that her sincerity had been poured on her like cold water.
Kent sighed helplessly, “So tell me, what do you want to apologise for?”
“I was wrong about last time, I’m formally apologising to you, I’m sorry for not taking myself too seriously.” Blanche shrugged her head with an air of sincerity.
Kent gave her a deep look, “And do you know what you did wrong?”
“I was reckless and, also, made a child’s play of my safety.”
Abbie had found two unarmed men last time because she didn’t know about her, but if she had known beforehand, perhaps the men who had tied her up wouldn’t have been so easy to deal with.
“So you understand?”
“Hmm.”
Blanche nodded, looked at him and said firmly again, “I’m sorry, I won’t do anything so ridiculous again, please can you forgive me and let me go back to work!”
“You must have heard everything Abbie said just now, right?”
“Yes.” She continued to nod.
“You know very well that she is targeting you on purpose because of me …… Even so, you still want to stay by my side?”
The man’s gaze was hot and growing deeper.
Blanche, with a calm face, looked into the bottom of his eyes and the next second nodded firmly, “Yes! Even so, I’ll give my life for the company!”
“You don’t need to do it for the company, you just need to do it for me.”
“Sir Lewis ……”
Blanche’s face was astonished and before she could finish her sentence, Kent narrowed his eyes and smiled wantonly, “You’re my assistant, so if you don’t work hard for me, who do you want to work for?”
At these words, Blanche inexplicably breathed a dark sigh of relief.
Soon, a smile piled up on her face as well and she nodded, “That’s true, then I will do my best for Mr Lewis.”
“Good.” Kent hammered home, “It just so happens that we haven’t recruited a suitable new person in a while, and I don’t think there’s anyone better suited to the position than you.”
Blanche clenched her fist in her heart and the decision was already made in her mind.
The months that followed were uneventful, Abbie seemed to have disappeared, Kent’s wisdom and audacity made the company’s trends clearer, and the two of them were so busy that they hardly lifted a finger from the office every day.
When the last big case was settled, Kent announced that he was taking a long holiday!
A cheer went up as the words left his mouth, and his colleagues who had been up all night breathed a sigh of relief.
The head of the planning team suggested, “Sir Lewis, we’ve all worked hard on this case, so why don’t we just go on a trip and take a vacation?”
“Sure.” Kent looked at Blanche and said, “In that case, Rodriguez, the assistant, will arrange it, and you can talk to her if you have any suggestions.”
“Sir, Lewis is wise!”
Blanche agreed, “Let me know if there’s anywhere you’d like to go, and I’ll arrange it nearby.
“Yes!” The group said, “Why don’t we just go to Okinawa, we can surf and soak in the hot springs, so we can relax.”
“Agreed!”
Blanche noted, her questioning eyes falling on the man on one side.
The latter spread his hands out, clearly looking as if it was all up to her.
Blanche gave him a helpless glare, somehow feeling as if he was deliberately trying to torment her.
Kent laughed so low that his whole chest churned, causing her to look away and get back into the discussion to take everyone’s opinion.
After another half hour of discussion, Okinawa was finally decided upon, and Blanche took her time to book her flight and hotel, relieved when everything was settled.
“If you’re tired, just go home and rest, and we’ll meet at the airport tomorrow.” Kent whispered in his ear.
The sudden proximity of his voice startled her and Blanche looked at him with red ears.
Kent, obviously not expecting such a reaction from her, arched his eyes and joked, “Is Assistant Rodriguez extra sensitive to ears?”
“No. ……”
She subconsciously covered her burning ears, then immediately shook her head, her face still composed, “You’re looking at it wrong.”
“Then let me see it again.”
Blanche jerked her hand free and took a few more steps back, “Sir Lewis, stop it.”
Kent looked at her with a straight face and quickly withdrew his playfulness saying, “Fine, fine, don’t make a scene.”
He put his hands up in a gesture of surrender.
Blanche relaxed a little when she saw that he had no more intention of doing anything else, “I’ll be back then and I’ll meet you at the airport tomorrow.”
“OK.”
Kent nodded.
Blanche then quickly finished the paperwork, shut down the computer and greeted the rest of his colleagues before leaving in a hurry, looking as if he would be swallowed up if he stayed for a second.
The following day, Blanche was still asleep when a phone call from Kent brought her to her senses.
The man’s smiling voice came through the microphone with an extra magnetic sound, “I’m downstairs at your flat, get your bags and come down immediately, we’re going to the airport!”
“What …… what?”
Blanche tried to ask, but all she got was a series of busy tones.
Blanche didn’t dare hesitate to get up, wash up and change her clothes, grab her suitcase and rush downstairs.
As she walked out of the apartment building, Kent’s flashy red sports car was parked there, and many people in the flat were watching from afar, so Blanche was almost under pressure to get into the car.
Blanche had just fastened her seat belt when the car took off like an arrow.
Blanche was surprised and said, “Sir Lewis, what do you mean by parking in front of my flat this early in the morning with a sports car?”
“Breakfast.”
The corner of Blanche’s eye twitched, “Having breakfast in such an eye-catching sports car ……?”
He wasn’t afraid of being surrounded by people!
Blanche didn’t really know when Kent had gotten so flirty.
The latter gave her a sidelong glance, “Why, is there something wrong with that?”
“No, but, what made you think to come and pick me up?” That’s what she didn’t understand, she’d said she’d meet him at the airport, but instead she’d met him beforehand.
Kent’s hands on the steering wheel squeezed a little tighter unnaturally, and his mouth said, “I wouldn’t have had to come and pick you up if I wasn’t worried you’d forgotten the time!”
“……”
Blanche looked at him patiently and argued word for word, “That sir Lewis can rest assured, I have a good sense of time!”
