“You ……”
Blanche turned around and coldly bumped directly into the person behind her, instantly rubbing the tip of her nose and sinking her face, “What are you doing in here, I’ll just find the papers for you directly if you want them.”
“What about this?” Kent grabbed her hand out again and pressed on step by step, “Blanche, you disappeared for a night without a trace and finally came back with an injury, aren’t you going to explain yourself to me properly?”
“I’m fine!”
“You’re hurt? You call that fine?”
The man’s voice grew cold in the face of her impatience, and his gaze was hot, as if he wanted to see her through and through!
Blanche was inexplicably weak at his words, it was as if he cared about a wound that would be fine with a little alcohol and medicine.
“Speak up! Are you dumb?” Kent grimaced.
Blanche broke free of his grip and gritted her teeth, “You’re hurting me!”
At that, the man did immediately release his grip and she was immediately relieved.
The fast food was placed casually on the table as she patiently said, “If you have any questions, you can wait until I’ve finished bandaging it first before asking.”
Kent stopped moving and grabbed the gauze in front of her, “Where’s the antiseptic water?”
“No, just alcohol.” She pointed to a spot somewhere on the cupboard.
The latter immediately complied, fetching it straight away before resuming his seat beside her.
Kent wrapped it up expertly, in three or two passes, and she stared at her arm in disbelief.
Kent lifted his hand and tapped her head again, “What are you doing, what happened today, tell me everything, I think …… you remember where you went and what you did, don’t you?”
Blanche squeezed her palms and said, a little embarrassed, “Can I not tell?”
It wasn’t really something worth bringing up, and she didn’t know how to talk about being kidnapped, let alone who the other person was.
However, Kent was adamant and gave her a straightforward answer, “No!”
“OK,” Blanche raised her hands in a gesture of surrender, “What all do you want to know?”
“Where did you go?”
“The outskirts.”
“Why?”
“I ……” her lips twitched and her expression eased a few notches, “I was kidnapped by two men, only I’ve worked it out and the police should have taken them away. ”
She originally didn’t want to count it, but the hands of that so-called boss behind her made her consider that she couldn’t let them go, so she chose to call the police.
She spoke breezily as if she was just talking about an anecdote, while Kent on the other side of the room had already blackened his face.
“You’ve been kidnapped and injured, and you want to end up saying nothing and pretending nothing happened?”
Kent nearly shook with anger and looked at her with a touch more irritation, “Blanche, do you have any brains at all! You’re a woman, don’t you ever get scared?”
As a normal woman, how could a normal person be so calm?
Blanche was speechless for a moment and couldn’t help but say, “It’s different, that’s a role I can handle, and I’m not a weak female, I can protect myself.”
“Shut the fuck up!” Kent whispered angrily, “One more word from you and I promise I will strangle you!”
He walked around the room in anger, finally stopping in front of her, “Are those two guys after money or something?”
“I don’t know.” Blanche got a little angry and looked away.
Angered again by her attitude, Kent looked deeply at her, the dark light under his eyes deepening, “Blanche, do you think you did the right thing today?”
“I didn’t!”
What was wrong with the fact that she could protect herself and didn’t need to bother anyone? Did she have to be made to suffer like a normal person and then run to him to complain?
That kind of image she could not do just by imagining it, not to mention that …… those two people were obviously first time offenders, so it was extraordinarily easy to solve, and I’m sure that after this lesson, they would definitely not do such a thing again in the future.
The woman’s obstinate attitude completely angered Kent, and he sneered and said, “Yes, you’re right! It’s me who’s wrong!”
Serves him right for worrying so much, serves him right for guarding a door while he wondered if something had happened to her, damn it!
Blanche wrinkled her brow and looked at him with a somewhat puzzled look of anger, “I was the one who was kidnapped and nothing happened to me, it didn’t even feel like nothing, but why are you angry?”
Nothing had happened to him hadn’t it?
Kent almost spat blood at her confused words, he gritted his teeth and nodded repeatedly, “Yes, you’re fine, nothing happened to you, what do you think I’m blindly worrying about?”
He said, getting up and straightening out his messy clothes and his awful mood, “Since you’re fine then get some rest.”
With that last sentence, he left with a flourish.
The door slammed shut with a loud ‘bang’, the whole room buzzed and hovered, and Blanche’s head spun.
She wanted to ask what happened to the papers that were to be taken away, she wanted to ask him why he was so agitated, but nothing was waiting for her to ask, the man who had stirred her heart had left completely, leaving only the door that separated the two of them ……
The only thing she remembered was that she had no appetite for the fast food that had been left cold on the table and reheated, so she had to take a quick shower without wetting the gauze and fell asleep.
If only she could sleep, then she would not think about anything ……
She was comforted by this, but she couldn’t sleep, as soon as she closed her eyes, Kent’s angry expression would appear in front of her, scolding her incessantly, making it impossible for her to sleep peacefully ……
The next day, she spent the weekend with a black eye, and when she went to the office to see Kent, he had a cold look on his face, and when he saw her, he went straight to the finance office with the papers as if he hadn’t seen them.
Blanche felt that something was wrong and followed him immediately.
In the finance room, he heard Kent giving instructions to clear her salary and bonus, and to arrange for a new assistant in the HR department as soon as possible.
There was a buzz and her head went blank, unexplainable emotions rushing through her chest, what was going on?
She clenched her teeth and quickly rushed up to stop in front of him, “Why! What have I done wrong, why are you sacking me!?”
The latter didn’t answer and turned to walk away.
Blanche stomped her foot in anger and hurried on after him, bound to chase him until she could get an answer that would satisfy her!
