Blanche admitted that she was provoking Abbie.
After all, Abbie had already been hostile to her when she first saw her, and since that was the case then she didn’t mind making Abbie dislike herself even more.
Sure enough, Abbie looked at her coldly, and a million strange thoughts flashed quickly under her eyes, but in the end, she hid the glint of venom.
Blanche saw what was really going on and didn’t break it up.
Abbie snorted coldly, “We’ll see about that!”
She had more than enough time to spend with her!
Blanche sighed softly and couldn’t help but think that she was in trouble again, not to mention that this was Kent’s favorite ……
Blanche thought that Abbie would stay in L city until she became Kent’s lover. But she hadn’t expected to leave after just one phone call.
“Blanche?”
“Sir Lewis,” her eyes flickered, “What’s wrong?”
“I saw you looking preoccupied and was just curious to ask, what happened again?”
His concern reminded Blanche of the night he had left in the middle of the party to look for her at the flat, her cheeks warmed quickly and she dared not raise them, keeping them low, “No, sir Lewis misunderstood.”
“So… ……”
Kent, all over, clapped his hands and said, “In that case, come with me.”
“Walk?” Blanche visibly froze again and looked at him with a puzzled expression, “Where to?”
“The orphanage.”
“Oh.”
She nodded, her mind puzzled but still not asking anything, silently following behind, “I’ll ask the driver to drive downstairs first then.”
“No, I’ll drive myself, I don’t need a driver.” Kent grabbed the keys off the table and headed out.
Blanche didn’t dare hesitate to trot after him.
Kent was right, the place they had arrived at was indeed the orphanage, and before going there they had made a trip to the supermarket, carrying almost all the goods they could, the whole trunk was stuffed to the brim.
This was also the first time Blanche had been exposed to his private life.
As soon as Kent’s car pulled up in front of the orphanage, all the children inside rushed out, several even jumping into Kent’s arms and shouting, “Brother Kent ……”.
Kent picked up a cute little girl and patted the top of her head, “Brother hasn’t been here for so long, did you miss me?”
“Yes!” The little girl immediately took his face in her hands and kissed it happily, causing Kent to let out a big smile.
The headmistress came out next, looking at the contents of his trunk and complaining, “It’s good that you’re here, you don’t have to bring so much of the kids’ favourite food every time, you’ll spoil them.”
“Kids, they deserve to be spoiled more, just don’t do anything bad.” Kent said, placing the little girl in his arms on the floor, “Go, get your brothers to give you sweets, I bought them especially for you to love.”
“Yeah!”
The child was a child after all, and immediately stopped clinging to him when she heard about the food and ran away in a flash.
The dean looked dotingly at the child’s back before withdrawing his attention to Blanche, “Who’s this?”
“My friend.” Kent curled his lips into a smile.
Blanche responded and hurriedly spoke, “Hello, I’m Blanche, you can just call me by my first name.”
The dean’s eyes fell on the two of them for a moment, then nodded with a look of understanding, “This is the first time Kent has brought someone here!”
Blanche was a little embarrassed by the ambiguous look, and with her head hanging low she couldn’t help but say, “This, Mr Lewis is just a whim, that’s why ……”
“By the way, Dean, how is Vincent’s situation?” I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but Kent spoke up and interrupted the conversation between the two.
The dean sighed, “Not good, but not bad either ……”
Vincent was a boy who had just been admitted to the orphanage, seemingly traumatized by the death of his parents in front of him, and had chosen to be autistic and stop talking.
Kent came to see the boy a few times, but it was as if he hadn’t seen or heard anything, which was heartbreaking.
Blanche’s heart ached slightly as she followed Kent’s steps and listened to his words.
“Even so, the child is innocent, but it’s really …… hard to put him through all this when he’s so young.”
Kent’s thin lips tightened into a straight line, “Take back your sympathy, I don’t think he would want you to feel sorry for him when he sees it.”
Blanche was stunned, looking at the sharp angles of his jaw a little out of focus.
Kent took a few steps before realising he hadn’t followed and turned, his disgruntled gaze falling on her, “No. You want to stay here and wait for me to come out?”
Blanche squeezed her palms and followed again.
Vincent was sitting in the garden of the orphanage, alone and quiet, watching the lively children in front of her.
Kent admonished her a few times again, “Watch your words a bit, don’t irritate him.”
“I’m not a child.” Blanche grumbled disgruntledly.
At the end of the sentence, the pair had stopped in front of Vincent, who was clearly looking in the direction of the front, but unfocused, as if he was just looking at something through the children.
“Vincent?” said Kent, patting the top of his head and sitting down directly beside him directly, as if he didn’t care that his expensive suit would get dirty.
Vincent didn’t answer, his gaze still dull.
Blanche immediately changed into a warm smile also squatting down in front of him, extending a pink fist in front of him and smiling, “Vincent, guess what I have in my hand?”
No one answered her, but she unfolded her hand to herself and a delicate candy lay peacefully in her palm.
“Bam, bam!”
Blanche said as she carefully peeled the wrapping off the candy, “This was my favourite candy as a child and I think you must love it too.”
She pressed it against his lips and the latter mechanically opened his mouth and took it in.
Blanche was delighted and looked at him invitingly, “Well, isn’t it delicious?”
“……”
Vincent fell silent again and Blanche was at her wits’ end, she didn’t have any children at home, she know how to get along with children, not to mention her calm nature, she really didn’t know how to coax him at this point.
Kent couldn’t help but snort out a laugh at her overwhelmed look and the excessive and stiff smile on her face.
