Chapter 70- The End

Book:The Lycan King's Mate Published:2024-6-4

Alder’s POV
Mirasol died afterward, and because of the feeling of relief, I hugged my mate. I had no idea why she suddenly told me to teleport her to that witch, but my instinct told me to just follow her. I know I sounded pathetic, but even my beast agreed to let her lead us. That is how much we trust our mate and how much we love her. What’s important is that everything is settled. I never thought that the past was still haunting me until Lorena came. Maybe it was also the reason why the moon goddess decided to let Cindy be reborn in Clover’s persona.
I saw Lorena and Isabel kneel down out of tiredness when I looked around. Lance and James started to look after the wounded warriors. I didn’t think it was safe for the others to be called out of the bunker, so I didn’t until we cleaned everything out. The warriors and fighters were all tired, but they wanted to make sure of the safety of their families and loved ones as well.
The palace doctors and nurses arrived and started to bring the wounded to the palace hospital, which I was proud of because I made a huge improvement there. I always made sure that the supplies were in stock and would never run out. “Don’t you dare do it again,” Cindy said,
“What?” I asked, confused.
“Commanding everyone while you’re naked,” she replied, and I laughed really loudly. After I hugged her, I totally forgot that I was in my birth suit and started to tell everyone what to do until she came to me with shorts. “What would the pups think if they ever saw you like that?”
“My love, it’s natural for us to be seen like this.” I reminded her. We all know that we are completely naked when we shift back to our human form.”I told her,
“I don’t care. Just don’t show yourself naked with anyone, especially to females.” So that was it. She just doesn’t want any women to see me. I understood her, though. I didn’t want anyone to see her naked as well.
“Alright,” I agreed and got on with what we needed to do. She went to the bunker later to check on everyone. Mia and Sheena did a good job at maintaining order. I could see how pissed Lance’s mate was because she never had a chance to fight when they finally went out, and she searched for our beta.
“Where’s Charles?” Mia asked worriedly. She’s really sweet and was exactly the reason why Cindy liked her so much.
“In the hospital. He was helping the wounded there,” I answered,
“He’s fine, right? Nothing happened to him, yeah?” she asked again. I smiled before saying.
“He’s fine and scratch. You have nothing to worry about. The enemies are not that strong. It’s just that their number is unexpectedly high.” I added. She sighed and relieved and smiled,
“Thank you, Your Highness. I will go and make sure that everyone who came from the bunker is fine as well. I’m sure that they are worried about their family members who fought with you,” she replied.
“That will be good.” Then she turned her back to me, so I searched for my beautiful and strong mate and found her in the kitchen with the omegas and her mom, Isabel, and Aunt Lorena. They were eating, and, by the way, Lorena took a bite from her sandwich. I could tell that what she and Isabel did was tiring.
“Hi, my love,” I said when I came closer and kissed her on her temple.
“Hi, forgive us if we have to eat first. We are really hungry,” she replied,
“Eat all you want. I don’t know what you did back then, but I noticed that Isabel and Lorena kept Mirasol on her feet.”
“Mom, give me the dagger. If you’re curious why I had that with me,” she replied.
“Mirasol will surely get into your mind, so we decided to help you by blocking your mind from her spell.” It was Isabel.
“That’s why we had to sandwich you,” said Lorena.
“Because Mirasol can’t get to you, she decided to use Cindy, but what she didn’t know is that we are prepared for that as well. Because it was Clover’s body, her witch power didn’t come naturally. So we trained her in the short amount of time we had. A simple incantation that will help her fight Mirasol through their heads,” Isabel explained.
“Why didn’t I know about it?” I asked,
“We didn’t tell you because Mirasol can get to everyone’s mind easily, and we didn’t want her to find out about our plan, so we kept it to ourselves. We are worried that she might read your thoughts and the others, so we decided to be cautious.” Cindy answered.
“Lorena and Cindy drained their energy more than me; they are both new to the spell, and it required a lot of their power,” Isabel said.
“Thank you for coming and helping us. I am grateful that you decided to protect us rather than get angry at the royals as your other family members did.”
“My eyes are open, and I know how to differentiate right from wrong. Many of our family members didn’t like the idea of my ancestors, but they had no choice because they didn’t want to fight them head-on. Their black magic was, and ours was limited. And, of course, I had to be with my daughter. She’s the memorabilia my husband left for me.”
After we are done with cleaning up, which takes three days until the wounded warriors and fighters feel better, we start to raid the mansions of Mirasol, along with their companions, supernatural and humans. I feel sorry for humans that they had to suffer the same fate as the supernatural, and their greediness led them to their demise.
We had freed numbers of female omegas and humans in the cells inside the mansions while the others were saved from their captors. I know that there are still more who need to be rescued. Those that were already taken by different rogues and billionaire humans, but I promised myself that I was not going to stop until I saved them and got back to their respective families.
Now, I am with my mate. Watching our people doing their regular duties so we would be able to help our kind to live in peace along with the other species, especially humans. Because of the raids, many have found out about us. Some were scared, some were angry, but there were also some who were willing to live knowing we exist in this world.
I looked at my mate and watched her smile while watching the training. She was the happiest after everything was settled. She has done great to take the enemy head-on so they couldn’t get to me, and if she’s not strong-willed, I don’t know if she could ever pull off everything they planned.
“A penny for your thoughts?” she asked, her smile was as bright as bright and as calm as the morning sun.
“I was just thinking how lucky I am to have you as my mate,” I replied, and she smiled at me lovingly.
“I am lucky to have another chance to live here with you. I love you, my King.”
“I love you more, my Queen,” I replied and looked forward to a better kingdom in the future with her, my mate. Then I looked at the horizon, seeing our future together with our pups, which made me smile and feel grateful.
‘Thank you, moon goddess.’
