Third Person’s POV
“I love you so much, my love,” Alder said just as Cindy opened her eyes. She looked at him and remembered the pain she felt when he didn’t come to her when she knew that he was there at the gym as well.
“My love, are you feeling hurt somewhere?” he asked, but she didn’t reply. “My love, please, tell me how you feel,” he added.
“What are you doing here?” She asked angrily.
“My love, I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you,” he said,
“Leave me alone. Why don’t you go to your woman?”
“Mitch is nothing to me, believe me.”
“I am done believing you. You’re just like other men, who think with their heads in between their legs,” she replied,
“I know that I have been such a jerk. I only want the people in the palace to accept you fully, so I asked you to control your temper. They were used to a queen who was fragile and sweet, like my mother, and knowing you being tough and strong will make them feel aloof and scared towards you.”
“So you decided to tell me to back off even if it was your woman who started it and the cause of my anger?”
“I didn’t know, my love.”
“I know. That’s why you should have asked me first. But you didn’t! You believe that bitch and forget that I am your mate that you have to believe in and support unconditionally.”
“My love, I am such a jerk. Please forgive me this once, and I promise that this is not going to happen ever again.”
“You know what hurts me more? You already saw me getting hit, but you still didn’t do anything.” Cindy said painfully.
“I saw it, I know. But I couldn’t move at all. My heart clenched the moment Mitch landed a hit on him. Something stung my heart and made me feel like I was nailed to where I was standing.” he replied, “Joshua said that it was yours. That you were hurt, and I felt it because your beast was affected too. My beast felt that he couldn’t do anything about it either because your pain weakened him.” he added.
Cindy didn’t say anything and just looked at him. She knew that he was telling the truth. ‘Yes, he was telling the truth.’ Masha said,
‘Are you just going to forgive him just like that?’ she asked,
‘He is the Lycan king. He holds a big responsibility for all the supernatural creatures.’
‘You are very understanding, Mash.’
‘It’s because Ares was talking to me. He wanted us to understand Alder, and he told me that he wanted us more than anything in this world.’ Masha informed her. Cindy sighed. After what she could just hear from her beast, how could she not forgive him?
“My love,” she heard Alder calling her again. She looked at him and said,
“I want to go home now.”
“The doctor said that you still needed a rest.”
“I want to rest at home. I hated being in hospitals even when I was still human. It is where Lin took mine and Dad’s life.” she replied, and he understood.
“Wait here, and I am going to arrange your discharge. But if the doctor said no, we would have to follow him, OK?”
“Fair enough,” she replied, and Alder went to the door and opened it. Charles and Mia were just outside, so he asked them to arrange her discharge.
“Can I see her, Your Highness?” Mia asked, and he nodded, smiling. He let her in because he knew that Cindy would be very happy when she saw her friend.
“How are you feeling?”
“I’m fine, how about you?” Cindy asked,
“You made me really worried, and you should have fought back. You’re very strong.” Mia said,
“No need to worry because I am really fine. This is not going to happen again, so worry no more.”
“You are my only friend, and I don’t want to lose you ever again,” Mia said, crying. Cindy smiled and asked her to come closer so she could hug her.
“Shhh.. I am fine, and that’s all that matters. I’m sorry if I made you worry.” she said as she wiped Mia’s tears.
“We will train, and I am going to train harder. I wanted to be there for you.”
“I know, and yes, we will continue our training.” They had a little talk while they waited for Charles and Alder to join them. He already planned on assigning Charles as their trainer and was sure that he would gladly accept it.
“Alder, everything is OK,” Charles said as he entered their hospital room. They left and went back to the palace as Mia continuously reminded her to rest.
Cindy sat on their bed as they entered it. She was not actually feeling well yet, but she didn’t want to stay there. She felt like Lin was going to be there and do something to her when she was sleeping. “Rest, my love, and tell me what you need,” Alder said, and she nodded.
She lay down as he helped her, then covered her with the comforter. “I am going to tell the kitchen to cook something for you.”
“I want to sleep first,” she replied, so Alder lay down beside her.
“What are you doing?”
“I am going to sleep too.”
“No, you sleep on the couch.”
“Please, my love..” Alder pleaded,
‘You have to let him, and he is weak too.’ Masha told her, so she had no choice but to let him. He hugged her, and she didn’t complain. She felt tired and only wanted to sleep, and the fact that she felt relieved and calm when he did that made her feel at ease, and she fell asleep.
The next morning, Alder woke up before Cindy. He looked at her, and a sudden pang of guilt hit him. What happened the other day keeps on playing in his mind. He caressed her face lovingly and kissed her forehead before he got up and went to the bathroom.
They had not eaten their dinner, so he planned on waking up Cindy when he was done to have breakfast together. He promised himself to take her wherever he would go.
Cindy woke up just as Alder came out of the bathroom. “You’re awake. I was planning on waking you up after I’m done bathing.” He said. He came closer, gave her a light kiss, and added, “Good morning, my love.”
She let him down, thinking he made her sleep soundly with his presence. She listened to Masha and decided to forgive him for what had happened. “Alder,” she called him, so he looked back at her.
“This is the last time that you’re going to hurt me. There will be no next time because I don’t know if I will ever forgive you again.” She said, looking at him in his eyes. She wanted to know that she was serious about what she said.
Alder, on the other hand, never left her eyes either. He wanted to let her know that he was willing to compromise and respected her decision. “Just as I’ve said, my love. That will never ever happen again. I promise you that with my life.” He replied.
Cindy got up from bed and got closer to him. Their eyes were still locked with each other, and as she stood before him, she tipped her toe and kissed him. Alder was shocked for a moment, but when he realized that he had been forgiven, he held her and kissed her back.
“Now, that’s a good morning,” Cindy said before she went to the bathroom as Alder followed her with his gaze, smiling.
‘Thank you, moon goddess.’ He said, feeling happy.
