Alder’s POV
Now, Joshua confuses me. Of course, I didn’t like the idea that he had just said, and what Clover and I had argued about earlier got into me. I don’t know what I am going to do with Mitch if everything goes wrong. I stayed in my office and thought about what I was going to say to my mate later. I shouldn’t make any more alibis or excuses, so I had to be honest. I even asked the omega to bring me my food so I could still think about how I was going to woo her like what Joshua had told me.
After a very long deliberation, I decided to go to the gym where Lance Charles and I used to train together. No one goes there because I never allowed anyone to do so. If they want, they could use the other gym near the training hall. I found Mia and my beautiful mate doing their warm-up. I didn’t want to inform them of my presence, so I hid my aura. They were training and sweating, so I guess they wouldn’t be able to smell me easily if I kept my distance.
Mia was very focused and all ears to everything that Clover was telling her. I’m pretty sure that she’s going to be a very good fighter after all their training. When they were done and needed to advance, I was going to ask Lance to train them in their wolf form, or I could train my mate while Charles could do that with his.
I couldn’t help but smile whenever I saw Mia asking Clover not to go so fast, but my mate would only laugh at her. She looks even more beautiful when she does that. I feel lucky that she’s mine. She’s very tiny. That has been her advantage. It gave her fast reflexes and swift movements because she was very light. I want to see her happy all the time, and I want to be the reason for her smiles.
They were both enjoying it when Mitch disturbed them. How can I be so foolish to even entertain her complaint? I still didn’t show up because I wanted Clover to handle her. Even if Mitch tries to do something stupid, I still put my bet on Clover that she could take her down without a sweat.
Clover and Mia just ignored the bitch, and I could tell that she was trying to provoke my mate. Both friends continued what they were doing, and I admire my love for being patient. I could tell that she was already angry, but she was still holding on to herself. But what Mitch said after that angered me, so I don’t think that they would still let her slide, “Don’t you smell me? Don’t I smell like Alder?”
“You came from his office, so it was natural that you still had his scent,” Clover replied and asked Mia to continue what they were doing.
“Do you actually think that I went there and we did nothing?” she asked, smirking.
“Oh, why did he mouth fu** you?” my mate asked angrily. I was shocked. Well, she does have a dirty mouth, but I didn’t think that she would actually say those words.
“Feel sorry for you. I guess you’re not good in that department, so he is looking for someone else.”
“Of course, I know nothing about getting fu** with my mouth. I was a virgin when he took me, so he is gentle with me. Things like he usually does with wh***s and pros******s are not allowed to me, like what he did with you and the rest of the women who wanted his di**.” Mia gasped, and I guess it was also the first time that she heard her friend talking like that.
“I am not a pros******!!” Mitch shouted.
“Of course, they get paid for their services while you’re free.” My mate replied mockingly. Mitch was really mad, and I was sure that she’d start the fight. I looked at Clover, and she was still smirking at her. That must have irritated her because she jumped at her queen without thinking.
It was a frontal and direct attack, and I’m sure that Clover will be able to dodge or avoid it. She just stood there waiting, and just as I smiled, thinking Mitch would get what she deserved, I was stunned, stung to where I was, and a sudden sting in my heart hit me when Clover took the hit and another and another.
With the continuous punches that my mate took, I could feel them. It hurt so much, but what I couldn’t understand was the pain that I felt in my heart, which prevented me from coming and helping her. “Cindyyyyyy!!!!” I heard Mia screaming. I looked at my mate, and she was under Mitch, who was still punching her while she didn’t move at all.
“Get away from her!” Mia said as she tried to pull Mitch away from Clover, but the bitch just pushed her and made her stumble and fall. “Stop it!!!” she still shouted, even though she was hurt because of the fall.
I was holding on to my chest when I felt like I couldn’t breathe. Then Charles came in and took Mitch away from Clover. Lance was with three warriors and heard him say, “Take that bitch to the dungeon!”
“No!! I am going to be your queen!!” Mitch shouted,” The kingdom doesn’t need a queen as weak as her!!” she added while the warriors were dragging her.
“You’re going to get punished severely for this, bitch.” Lance said before he motioned the warrior to take her away.
“Your Highness!” Charles called Clover, who was now unconscious.
“How is she?” Lance asked,
“We need to bring her to the hospital.” Charles answered, “Are you alright, babe?” he still managed to ask his mate, who nodded while crying.
I saw Lance look at me before my eyes got blurry. “Shit!!!” I heard Lance before I totally passed out.
When I woke up, I was in the hospital. I could still feel my heart aching, so I remembered my mate. “Where is she?” I asked when both Lance and Charles rushed to me. They motioned to the bed next to mine and found Clover lying there unconscious. Mia looked at me, and I could feel that she was angry at me.
Charles went to her and leaned on him. I was so jealous. Charles managed to make Mia his, even if she was completely human. I looked at my mate, and I noticed that her bruises had started to heal. “How long have we been in the hospital?” I asked,
“You’ve been out for 6 hours,” Lance answered,
“Why has she just started to heal? Shouldn’t she be OK by now?” I asked. It was the first time that I saw someone like us who had healed this long.
“Her beast must be in pain.” I looked at the door and saw Joshua. “I think she knew that you were there and was expecting you to help her out,” he added.
“But I know that she could take Mitch herself. After our talk because of that bitch, I thought that she would want to vent her anger, and that was her chance, especially when it was that bitch who started it.” I replied,
“Are you expecting her to defend herself when she knew you were there? Of course, she would want to show that wh*** that you were there for her. That would mean that she was nothing to you.” Mia said with her eyes on my mate.
“Please leave us,” I told them. I want to be alone with her. I only want her to see me when she wakes up. Charles and Mia got up, and then Lance tapped my shoulder and said,
“The doctor said that she’s fine and will only need to heal her wounds.” I nodded at him,
“Thanks,”
“Your Highness, I hope something like this will not happen in the future anymore. Please clear things with her.” Joshua said, then followed the others out.
“I’m sorry, my love. I promise that this is not going to happen ever again.” I whispered in her ear before I kissed her on her forehead. I am going to fulfill that promise for the rest of my life.
