Alder’s POV
The meeting with the alpha went smoothly. They were at ease when they told me their concerns and requested a little help with their pack. Many requested support for a school for college students. They told me that most of them went to human territory to attend because small packs only had until high school in their packs.
With that said, I decided to build a college that different neighboring packs can attend. I encouraged them to ask any of their pack members to apply as professors while we were waiting for the construction to finish. “Thank you so much, Your Highness.” One of the alphas said.
“This is only the beginning. And I was thankful to my queen because she was the one who suggested this.” I told them, and they looked at each other. The others had yet to learn about my mate besides the Raven Claw and Hill Crest Pack. “She’s not here because she thinks that it doesn’t feel right to be here when she has not marked me yet,” I told them, and they started buzzing.
“No need to fret; she was rejected once and was afraid; that’s why she can’t fully give her heart to me. But it doesn’t mean that we do not talk to each other. We do as normal mates do and discuss kingdom matters when we are together, So don’t worry.”
Alpha Jessie was smiling, and she knew that well while Alpha Rio had his head down. He must have remembered what he said about my mate. “Going back to school matters. I think we can build three colleges at the same time. Our queen managed to get a sponsor from the humans.” everyone looked at each other,
“Do they know who is going to use the school?” One of the old alphas asked.
“Of course not. The said sponsor had died, and she let the queen do everything with regard to her wealth,” I answered. Clover and I talked about this; at first, she worried they might think differently. But I told her to let me handle it, and no one would think otherwise. “They were really good friends, like sisters to each other, and the sponsor has no other family but the queen.”
“Your Highness, forgive my asking. Isn’t it wrong not to mark you when the kingdom needs their queen?” Alpha Rio’s daughter asked. I wondered why she was there, but I didn’t want to get angry because Clover and I were getting along really well. We have our regular mating like yesterday in our walk-in closet.
“She’s here with me, helping me run the kingdom. I don’t see anything wrong about that.”
“Does she really want to be your queen? We don’t know. Maybe she was just passing her time here. I mean, there are a lot of she-wolves who would want to be your queen. Why wait for her when she could only warm your bed?” Everyone gasped, and that’s when the door opened.
“I guess the bitch who likes to bitch around was running her smelly mouth again,” Clover said as she walked to me. I smiled when I saw confidence in her, and she was always like that-walking full of air, sophistication, and confidence. It must be because she was a natural leader. Imagine a CEO of the largest conglomerate in the wolf world. “Hi, Jessie,” she greeted. I guess she doesn’t forget.
“Hello, Your Highness.”
“Cut the crap. You know my name,” she replied before she took the seat that Lance offered. Then she looked at the bitch, I mean, Alpha Rio’s daughter. “You know why he waits for me?” my mate asked. “Because I was worth it. Unlike you, who have been in bed with different men. Had been passed by one man to another,” she said when she didn’t receive any reply from her.
“Your Highness, please–” Alpha Rio tried to stop her,
“What? Are you going to stop me from running my mouth while you keep yours shut when she was talking ill about me? It would be best if you were thankful that I asked Alder not to get in between me and anyone who would look down on me as a queen. If not, what do you think will happen to your bitch daughter?” she stopped him instead.
“Warm his bed, you say? He loves me so much. You can die out of bitterness that he is mine and not yours. The next time I hear you talk shit about me, I am going to fu****g take your tongue out of your mouth so you can never spew nonsense ever again. Do I make myself clear?” she asked, full of authority, excreting her aura as their queen. Why not when I have already marked her? She has all the right to say that.
“Forgive me, Your Highness.” Alpha Rio’s daughter said, bowing her head. I don’t even know her name or remember whether her father told me that. Everyone was quiet but still had their attention on my mate. Then, as if nothing happened, she smiled and said sweetly, “Is there anything that the palace can help you with other than the school?” I noticed that they all sighed in relief. How could she do that? Angry now and sweet after a second.
“Your Highness, I am Alpha Remos of the Blood Diamond Pack, and there has been some incident of kidnapping in some packs, and the targets were mostly omegas.”
“That’s alarming. Which region?” I asked, “Something like this never came to my knowledge. When did this start?” I added.
“Here in Alaska, Your Highness. I was worried that they would come to our pack. Most of my pack members were non-combatants. We were starting to establish the pack because we are all rogues who decided to stay with each other.”
“What do you think, my love?” I asked. I wanted to know what she thought about the situation. However, I knew that Lance and Charles were ready, just in case.
“You know my way is very expensive,” she replied, looking at Alpha Remos. “You just established your pack, you say?” she asked, and he nodded. “Then your territory is still small, right?”
“Yes, Your Highness. We have walls surrounding the pack’s territory, so I think it will be a little difficult for them to get inside,” he replied,
“You lack patrol guards, I guess?” she asked again, and he nodded. “Then we will build a security system on your walls to watch after the borders that your patrol guards couldn’t look after. Before you leave the palace, we will discuss this again. See to it that you have the blueprint and map of your pack’s territory.” she replied,
“Thank you, Your Highness.” Alpha Remos said gratefully. “As for the other packs, I assume Lance, Charles, and Alder already had a plan in their minds. But I still suggest you let some of your pack members join the training the palace is ready to provide for everyone. You have to send someone who could actually teach and train their fellow pack members. Because we can’t invite all of you at the same time, right?” There she goes; she beats me to it. But it was fine, and I already saw it coming, and she just showed everyone that she was not only a queen who could warm my bed.
