Chapter 14

Book:The Lycan King's Mate Published:2024-6-4

Alder’s POV
We were still lying on my bed, and I was waiting for her to talk. She’s quiet, and I feel worried that she’s still mad at me. I know that I acted like a di**head when I marked her, but it was all I could do to make her stay. Now, even if I wanted to, I had to ask her permission if I wanted to complete the bond and mate with her.
She’s acting according to the bond. That’s why she couldn’t help but want me as well, especially when I have already marked her. I felt guilty after I did that, but she shouldn’t blame me because I had already talked to her and made an agreement. I was willing to help her and started planning our flight to L. A., but she was stubborn and very impatient.
“My love,” I couldn’t take the silence, so I called,
“I still hate you, so don’t talk to me,” she said, “I may want you, but that’s only physical, and no other feelings but lust,” she added, and that hurt like hell. I got up and looked at her.
“You made me do it.”
“I don’t care; that doesn’t change the fact that I hate you,” she replied, stressing the last three words. It would have been better if she had said, “I love you,” but I know that it was far from reality. I also needed to be cold so she would know what she was.
“We have already agreed on something, and you dare disregard it. No matter what, you should have stuck to what we had talked about.” I said, “So this is technically your fault.” I added, and she glared at me, and hell, she looked alluring. She was still lying on the bed, naked.
“You’re blaming? I already told you that I am not in the position to waste time!” she shouted when she got up. Then maybe she remembered what had happened to us and looked at herself, “Fu**! This is insane. How could I let you touch me again? And how the hell did you take off my clothes easily? Just how many women did you ever fu** here that–”
“Stop it! I never bring any woman here.” I said, cutting her off. “Just what the hell do you think of me?”
“Exactly what you are!!” she shouted back. “I should have felt dirty, but this da** mate bond didn’t let me; instead, it’s making me feel,—” she continued but stopped herself. She didn’t want to admit that she wanted me as well.
“Why don’t you continue?” I asked, challenging her.
“No way, I am never going to say it.” She’s really tough, and I don’t know if that was good. Although I wanted a strong queen, I also wanted her to be submissive to me. But with her, I don’t even know what I will call her for fear that she will get mad at me again. What should I really call her, Cindy or Clover? Cindy is the one I had been talking to, but Cindy is in Clover’s body.
I don’t know who I am going to talk to about this, and I was worried that if I opened this matter to the council, they would think differently. One of them prophesied that I would be mated to a witch and bringing her here as a she-wolf would start a nasty rumor about her. I don’t care about the witch thing; all I know is that she’s mine, and my beast accepted her.
“Look, stop arguing with me already. I know what I promised you and intend to do that.” I told her as she started to cover herself with the comforter. She looked around, looking for clothes she could wear. The walk-in closet is right there. I said, pointing out the door to her. She glared at me before she walked there and was already dressed in my shirt again. I smiled after I saw her.
“Don’t smile; Masha wanted this, so I just took it. I don’t know why she even likes to wear your clothes when it is so big.”
“How do you like to wear yours?” I asked, trying to know her preference.
“No need for you to find out,” she replied. I couldn’t win over her.
“You know that I can’t do anything to you. That’s why you’re doing this, right?” I asked,
“You can do anything to me, especially when you start touching me. What are you talking about?”
“I mean, you know that I couldn’t hurt you.”
“Fu** you!” she replied,
“Oh, I want that,” I said, smiling, which made her angrier.
“Did you forget what you did to me in the Hill Crest Pack?” she asked,
“I just did that so you won’t be able to struggle anymore.”
“Then don’t tell me that you can’t hurt me because you know you can.” she talked back. There was really no sense in talking to her this time.
“Are we going to talk like that?”
“Don’t talk to me if you don’t want to.”
“Come on, Clover,”
“I am not Clover!” she yelled again.
“You are in her body, so I should call you that!” I replied angrily. I am done with her unending complaints and hardheadedness. This is bulls***, so I just turned around and decided to leave her to think.
I found Charles and Lance still talking when I got back to my office. “I can see that the talk didn’t go well,” Lance said, and I nodded.
“Of course it wouldn’t,” Charles commented.
“Are you really my friends?” I asked,
“Of course! That’s why we are acting like this.” It was Charles again. I sat on my chair and had my elbow on the table with my hands on my face.
“We normally don’t feel headaches, but I think I would be able to feel anything with her,” I said, and they both laughed. With a friend like them, they will not be able to help me either. So, I just shook my head.
“So, you left her in your room?” Lance asked. I looked at him and nodded.
“Do you think she wouldn’t try to escape?” he asked,
“I had a feeling that she would, but she won’t be able to,” I replied, and I knew that they knew it. We are in the palace, and it will be very difficult for anyone to get in and out of the palace.
“You should know that the council has already found out that you already had your mate. Are you ready for them?” Charles asked, and I nodded.
“You know that I don’t give a da** to anything they say to me.”
“Yes, but they will surely make things difficult for the queen,” he replied.
“They can try all they want,” I said, and Lance laughed.
“Why is the di**head laughing?” he asked, confused.
“You don’t know how my mate was.” I just told him. I let him know for himself.
“Now I’m intrigued,” he said,
“Anyway, we will go to L. A.,” I told him, and he got excited.
“Why are you bringing him instead of me?” Lance complained.
“So you will be able to get a good fu** while I’m away,” I replied,
“How about Her Highness?” he asked,
“Of course, she’s going to come with us. I am not going to leave her here with you. I already marked her; what if she started her heat when I was away?” I answered,
“So why are you really going to bring that idiot there and not me?” he insisted.
“He knew people in L. A,” I replied.
“So, you needed me to help you out?” Charles asked,
“Yes, technically. But it was Clover you will be helping, really.”
“Enlighten me,”
“And me,” Lance added.
“In time, for now, we will be needing the plane again and to get in touch with the hangar in L. A,” I said, and then the door burst open.
