Logan Brown looked at the happy Roger Scott and the sorrow that had been locked between his brows seemed to lift at this moment, with a softer tinge.
Roger Scott was happy, but then he rushed up to him with some concern, “Logan, is what you just said true? You’re not lying to me!”
Logan Brown cried, “Why would I lie to you?”
“But …… how come I didn’t get the message? Besides, how do you know?”
“I’ve been to see the kid and her.” Logan Brown was extraordinarily frank.
Roger Scott drifted off, angry and annoyed, “When, why didn’t you tell me, why didn’t you take me?”
“I’m not in a position to appear directly in front of Edward Ford, or to take you.”
Edward Ford hated him with a passion, and the reason Elena Bush had gone into premature labour was because of him; he had to fear for Elena Bush’s safety if he irritated him any further.
Roger Scott fell silent and looked at him with a dark gaze, “So, you’re going to keep going like this?”
“Naturally not.” Logan Brown sank his face, “I have my own way of doing things, and I know exactly what to do and what to do!”
Roger Scott resumed his seat.
“So …… you’re going to let me go and see Elena or tell you how she’s doing?”
Logan Brown responded graciously, “True to form Uncle Roger, never fails to have my mind figured out.”
“No, it’s not that I know you too well, it’s that I understand your heart for Elena Bush too well.”
That was why he could guess the reason for it so easily.
Logan Brown lifted a hand to his forehead, a helpless frown in his eyes, “Is it really that obvious that I’m acting that way?”

Logan Brown’s shoulders slumped along with him and he spread his hands, “Then I’ll have to cover up better later so you don’t always guess what I’m thinking.”
“That’s not true.” Roger Scott shook his head, “It’s just that I understand your feelings for her, and as for the rest, I admit to myself that I’ve never really known you.”
The latter looked at him faintly, the stern look in his eyes impossible to ignore, and his words sharpened as he changed his tone, “Now that you’re clear, I’ll come straight to the point.”
“But there is no harm in saying so.”
“Edward Ford, although he now knows that you are Elena’s nominal father, is well aware that he cannot stop you from seeing her, and also that you are no threat to him now, and he will do nothing to you, let alone Elena.”

he thought that this was the most appropriate time for him to go and see her.
Roger Scott nodded slightly with understanding in his mind, “I see.”
“Uncle Roger, please.” The man’s face was earnest and tinged with pinned expectation.
Roger Scott suddenly burst out laughing, “Logan, what need is there to say please between you and I. Besides, Elena is my daughter now, I can’t just turn my back on her, can I?”
A hearty laugh was as soothing as a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day.
Inside the hospital
Roger Scott came quickly and by the time Edward Ford got the news he was sitting at the head of Elena Bush’s bed feeding her porridge and meeting the baby.
The sight almost made Edward Ford’s eyes red.
The assistant stood outside the door with him, looking at the man whose face had suddenly changed, and his body shook again.
Edward Ford turned his head and glared at him, unable to control his anger, “What’s going on! Didn’t I tell you to keep the news under wraps? Why did he find out again?”
“I don’t know.” The assistant shuddered, “I’ve blocked the news, but I really don’t know what’s going on.”
“Rubbish!”
Edward Ford raised his hand and slapped him without hesitation, “If you can’t do this, what use do I have for you!”
“President Ford, I ……”
The assistant was a little innocent, “I don’t know how Mr Scott got the information either ……”
“Get out!”
Edward Ford let out a roar, and with a large brush of his hand, pushed him aside.
Edward Ford grunted coldly and pushed the door of the ward open straight away, grimacing.
The sudden commotion disturbed the few people in the room, and the little one was even more frightened, crying out with a ‘wah’ and a loud voice.
“Baby ……” Elena Bush immediately took the baby in her arms soothingly, her voice soft.
Roger Scott gave Edward Ford a somewhat displeased sweep, “There’s a baby here, what are you trying to do?”
Edward Ford stared at him with equal displeasure, “How did you know Elena was at the hospital? And how did you know about the baby?”
“What you’ve done yourself and you want people to not know?” Roger Scott grinned at him, “You think there’s a wall in this world that doesn’t leak?”
“No one can oppose me in G-City! If I command it, even more so, no one will sneak the news out!”
At those words, the smile under Roger Scott’s eyes deepened, “And what if I said that I watched Elena being put into the ambulance with my own eyes?”
“What!?” Edward Ford pulled his face down, full of disbelief.
Roger Scott didn’t care if he believed him or not, he said, “I had just left the Fords and was waiting for a tow because there was a problem with the car, only to find my daughter in an ambulance!”
He glared at him icily, “Edward Ford, is that what you said about not hurting her?”

Roger Scott sneered, “I thought you were sincere about her, but what about you? You said you’d treat her right, you’d take care of her …… and you haven’t done a thing!”
The questioning and accusations backed Edward Ford into a corner.
He subconsciously glanced at Elena Bush in the hospital bed, but saw that she was still holding the baby and coaxing it gently, as if she didn’t notice the conflict they had started.
“Elena ……” he opened his mouth, his eyes all concerned, “I really didn’t mean to hurt you, this was just an accident …… ”
Hearing the words, Elena Bush immediately turned her face to look at him, without the slightest expression on her face, just faintly spat out a sentence, “If you want to argue, please go out, don’t make noise to the child!”
