Freya chuckled softly, “Ow.”
Elowen placed the ginger tea with brown sugar on the table, “Hurting? Then why are you still holding him? Do you know how heavy Kai is now? I don’t think you’re hurting that much.”
Feeling sorry for her daughter, Elowen took Kai out of Freya’s arms.
“Wait until you feel better before holding your son.” Elowen took Kai downstairs, reminding before leaving, “Drink the ginger tea, it’ll help.”
Kai frowned, pouting, “Grandma is mean.”
Elowen touched his nose gently, “Be good, your mom is not feeling well. Once she’s better, she’ll spend time with you.”
“My mom can still carry me, so she’s not really in pain. She’s even smiling at me, you’re lying to me.” Kai kicked his legs, “Put me down.”
Elowen let him down.
He ran to the living room and flopped onto the sofa.
Upset!
Elowen tried to calm him down, “Kai, how about I buy you a Transformers toy…”
“I don’t want it!”
Transformers was his latest obsession, but he didn’t want it now.
Elowen couldn’t calm him down.
So she decided to leave him alone.
Leave him alone, and he’ll be fine in a while.
By the time Elijah returned, Kai was still not okay!
Seeing him, Kai immediately rushed into his arms, “Daddy.”
Elijah picked him up.
“What’s wrong? Why are your eyes red again?” Elijah asked.
Kai instantly looked aggrieved.
His eyes were red, tears almost falling.
Elowen explained, “He got upset because I didn’t let Freya hold him.”
Kai buried his face in Elijah’s chest, “Grandma didn’t let mommy hug me, even though mommy wanted to.”
Elowen, “…”
“Who wants to hug you, you’re so heavy.”
Kai hugged Elijah tightly, “Daddy, please carry me upstairs quickly. I want to find mommy.”
Sitting on the sofa, Elijah said, “If grandma didn’t let mommy hug you, it’s because mommy is not feeling well. You shouldn’t throw a tantrum.”
Kai blinked his big bright eyes, “Mommy is fine, she’s smiling at me. She’s not sick.”
“Just because she’s smiling at you doesn’t mean she’s not sick. So be a good boy and listen to grandma.”
Kai nodded in confusion.
His eyes still red.
Elijah said, “That’s better. Come on, let’s see the gift I got you.”
Excitedly, Kai asked, “What gift?”
Elijah stared at him for a moment.
Did he forget what he said before?
Without reminding him, Elijah said, “You’ll see once you look at it.”
He had his secretary buy it.
It couldn’t fit in the trunk.
The store delivered it directly.
A two-meter-tall wooden box was placed in the yard.
Kai ran over and tapped it, curious about what was inside.
Elijah had the driver open it with a rope.
Inside was a two-meter-tall Transformer.
“Wow…”
Kai exclaimed in awe!
He happily hugged one of the Transformer’s legs, “He’s so big!”
Elijah asked, “Are you happy?”
Kai nodded.
“You can sit inside.” there was a compartment at the back of the Transformer where a person could sit. It had a joystick to control its movements.
Kai exclaimed with delight, “So cool.”
He completely forgot about his earlier unhappiness as he controlled the Transformer around the yard, making it move its arms and stand at attention.
Elijah went inside, telling Eagle to keep an eye on him.

He opened the door to the bedroom on the second floor!
He saw Freya lying on the bed, with a bowl on the bedside table containing ginger shreds.
Elijah knew she was on her period, so he sat beside her and asked, “Feeling any better?”
Freya opened her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
