Chapter 670 Handling Alarm Calls

Book:You Are My Mr Right Published:2024-6-4

Freya knocked on Elijah’s office door.
The door was quickly opened.
Elijah stood at the door, seeing her holding a bag and asked, “What do you have there?”
Freya walked in and said, “Dirty clothes.”
Just as Elijah was about to ask about the dirty clothes, Evan walked in.
“Please, have a seat first. Would you like something to drink?” Elijah asked.
Freya nestled on the couch, nonchalantly responding with a sound.
Elijah sensed that she didn’t seem well, but at this point, he didn’t ask much, instead, he walked to his desk and asked Evan, “Is it almost done? Have they found the person?”
Evan nodded, “Yes, they found him. He is a subordinate of a vice president at Ono Pharmaceutical.”
That subordinate found other people to bribe the nurse.
The key figures have been found, now all they need to do is sort out the son of the hospital director who works here.
He already concluded that the director’s death was caused by Freya’s operation, where the heart transplant led to death.
Now, they need to tell him it’s not due to the surgery but being poisoned.
He might find it hard to accept.
Even though they have a witness now.
There’s still work needed to be done on the hospital director’s son.
Elijah pondered for a moment, “Evan, what about the information you found on the hospital director’s son last time?”
Evan said, “I’ll go get it.”
He turned and left.
Elijah glanced over at Freya.
She should care a lot about this, but today, why is she acting so aloof?
He walked over, “Freya, are you feeling unwell?”
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound, and she sighed, “What’s wrong?”
Elijah stared at her for a few seconds.
“What are you thinking about, so lost in thought?” Elijah reached out to her forehead, “Are you sick?”
Freya shook her head, perked up and said, “No.”
She forced a smile, took his hand, “What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?”
Elijah’s expression was serious, “You’re not yourself today?”
Freya asked back, “Am I?”
She even put on a very calm look.
Elijah stared at her for a few seconds, “If something’s wrong, tell me.”
She smiled, “What could possibly be wrong? Don’t you know everything about me by now? Once this is over, I’ll quit my job.”
“Yeah.” Elijah patted her head, “It should have been done a long time ago.”
Freya leaned against him, “Elijah, if I accidentally make a mistake, would you forgive me?”
Elijah said, “…”
No.
She’s not right!
Something definitely happened.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t ask that.
“What did you do wrong?”
Freya quickly shook her head, “I was just speaking metaphorically.”
“I don’t believe it.” Elijah lifted her chin, “Look at me, tell the truth.”
Freya pushed him, “You are so annoying, I was just joking, why are you taking it so seriously?”
Elijah said directly, “I don’t think you are joking, it seems like you’re testing me.”
“Mr. Silverton.” Evan came in with the records.
Feeling the atmosphere was off, he turned to leave.
Freya stopped him.
“What did you bring? Let me see.”
She got up from the couch and walked over to Evan.
Evan handed her the records.
She flipped through them.
It was about the hospital director’s son, his relationships, his work, basically everything about him was investigated and recorded in this document.
She looked down, reading, and asked Elijah, “What’s your plan?”
Elijah had a gut feeling that Freya had something on her mind. His gaze passed over the bag on the couch, and he simply said, “Handle it by calling the authorities.”
These records were from the previous investigation, which they thought they wouldn’t need anymore once the hospital director woke up.
Now bringing them out was to prevent the hospital director’s son from continuing to trouble Freya and causing obstacles in her work, to make him behave.
The death of the hospital director and involving Ono Pharmaceutical, all of this needs to go through proper channels.
He wouldn’t handle it privately.
Freya also found this to be appropriate.
“You two talk, I’ll go get some water.”
She was thirsty.
When she came back with water after a while, Evan had already left.
It was just Elijah alone.
He was holding the pants she had changed out of.
Right now, he was looking at her.
