Chapter 663: Poisoning

Book:You Are My Mr Right Published:2024-6-4

Freya asked Luna cautiously, “Are you okay? I found a better hotel, didn’t expect to run into our senior brother…”
“Freya,” Luna interrupted her with a smile, “I’m fine.”
After studying her expression for a few seconds to confirm that she was indeed fine, Freya let the topic drop.
Changing the subject, she asked, “After being away for so long, is there any cuisine you miss? My treat.”
Luna thought for a moment and said, “I’m craving strawberry cake.”
Freya, “…”
Where can’t you buy strawberry cake?
“After finally coming back, all you want is cake?”
“Is that not allowed?” Luna chuckled.
Freya agreed, but suggested they eat first.
She took them to dinner and then bought a strawberry cake.
Luna asked when they would go see the body.
Elijah had already arranged everything at the hospital, so they could go anytime.
However, Freya, considering Luna’s recent arrival and pregnancy, thought she should rest first before conducting the identification. But Luna wanted to help Freya with the examination as soon as possible, so she insisted on going back.
Not wanting to linger, Freya called Elijah to make arrangements.
She led them over.
Eagle parked the car at the back entrance of the hospital.
They entered stealthily.
Because what she was doing now was not quite proper.
If the dean’s son found out, Freya would be in trouble.
But if the dean’s son knew, he would not allow her to perform the autopsy.
So they had to be discreet!
Evan was tasked with getting them inside.
The morgue was located in the farthest corner of the hospital, with the parking lot above and the morgue below.
As the elevator doors opened, a cold draft enveloped them.
Luna and Tyler were familiar with such places, thus remained calm.
Freya, on the other hand, felt a bit nervous.
She feared that the dean had really died due to the surgery, or the implanted heart…
Elijah was waiting in the corridor.
As Freya approached, he grabbed her hand and whispered, “Don’t be nervous.”
Surprised, Freya asked, “Am I that visibly nervous?”
Hadn’t she managed to keep it together?
Evan pulled out the dean’s body, Luna and Tyler went closer.
Freya tried to comfort Luna but was pulled back by Elijah, “Don’t go over there.”
Freya asked, “Why?”
Elijah replied, “Your presence will only cause chaos.”
Though they didn’t believe in superstitions, the sight of a dead body always brought misfortune, thus Elijah didn’t want Freya too close.
Freya, “…”
How could she cause chaos?
Although not a trained forensic examiner, she knew a few things.
Tyler stepped forward and asked, “Can we perform an autopsy?”
As visible clues were scarce, only through dissection could they find more evidence.
Freya answered, “No.”
Tyler hesitated, “Then we might not find anything.”
“Go ahead,” Elijah said.
“But…”
“I’ll take responsibility if anything happens.” Elijah reassured Tyler, “You’re free to proceed without worry.”
Seeing Elijah’s assurance, Tyler informed Luna that they could proceed with the autopsy.
Evan provided the necessary tools.
Forensic examination was Luna’s forte, so it went smoothly.
She conducted a thorough inspection.
Indeed, she found some suspicious points in the body.
“He may have been poisoned,” Luna said.
Freya frowned, “What? Poisoning?”
She had considered many possibilities, such as surgery complications or emotional distress, but never poisoning.
“It’s highly likely,” Luna handed her a sample bag, “You can get it tested.”
Freya took it, “Okay.”
She asked Evan to take them back to the hotel.
She needed to go to the lab and test the sample Luna had given her.
Elijah accompanied her.
Wearing a white lab coat, Freya worked in the lab while Elijah sat outside, watching her busy figure through the glass.
Late at night, the whole city fell silent!
Bang!
The silence was shattered!
Elijah stood up, pushed open the lab door, and asked, “What’s wrong?”
And then he saw…
