Freya was puzzled, “He’s petty?”
She turned her gaze towards Elijah, as if asking, “What’s he being petty about?”
Orion explained on the side, “He doesn’t like me calling you Freya. We’ve known each other for so long, and I’ve always called you that. But he, with his small-mindedness, doesn’t allow it. When you have time, you should have a talk with him about it.”
Are these two grown men acting like children?!
Freya was almost speechless!
Orion, with a smirk on his face, asked, “Freya, is he as petty as a needle-nosed fish?”
Freya stared at him, “Senior Brother, there’s something I haven’t told you.”
Orion grinned, “What is it?”
“Luna got married,” Freya replied.
Before her words could sink in, Orion’s smile froze on his face.
It was comical how awkward he looked.
This time, it was Elijah’s turn to tease him, “Can’t you be a bit more open-minded? Someone just got married, so what?”
Orion, “…”
He got up from the couch.
He was unwilling to believe it was true.
Looking at Freya, he asked, “How can even you become like Elijah? Refusing to take any loss? Does telling such lies stimulate me?”
Freya had a serious expression, “I’m not lying to you, I’m telling the truth.”
She had carefully considered telling him about Luna’s marriage!
Hopefully, like Luna, he would also let go early and find the right person to be with!
Stop waiting.
Orion looked into Freya’s eyes.
She did not flinch.
Her firm gaze told him she was serious, not joking.
For a moment, Orion found it hard to accept this news.
He wanted to show some generosity, but he simply couldn’t bring himself to smile.
He slumped back onto the couch.
With a self-deprecating laugh, he said, “I thought that without Zane, I would become the winner, but it turns out, I’m still the loser.”
Freya said, “You should try to be more open.”
Orion sneered, “If Elijah found another woman, could you be open about it?”
Freya, “…”
She meant well.
Why was he directing his frustration towards her?
She grabbed Elijah’s arm and looked at Orion, “Do you know why I chose to tell you about Luna’s marriage at this moment?”
Orion met her gaze, “Is it because I said Elijah was petty, and you deliberately wanted to provoke me?”
Freya nodded emphatically, “You’re really smart.”
Orion, “…”
He was exasperated, “You two… really are birds of a feather, always in cahoots, two peas in a pod, not good people!”
Freya shrugged, “So, don’t tease my man. My man is jealous, and I’m happy about it.”
Orion felt like if he stayed longer, he would be fed even more dog food, “I’m done playing with you.”
He got up and left.
Freya said, “Aren’t you going to let me see you off?”
Orion waved his hand without looking back, “I’ll tell you, showing off affection, you’ll die fast. Behave yourself in the future.”
“I got it,” she replied.
After Orion left, she pulled her hand back.
But Elijah held onto it, “Stay.”
Freya said quietly, “This is at home.”
Elijah tilted her chin, “I like it when you sass people.”
Freya blinked her curved eyes, gleaming like rippling water, “Are you jealous that Orion can’t call me Freya?”
“Joking, how could I possibly be jealous? Only insecure men exhibit such behavior,” Elijah straightened his back, his sharp features exuding a sense of pride.
Freya, “…”
She got up.
Elijah asked, “Where are you going?”
“To go on a date with a man,” she said with a faint smile, “since you won’t be jealous anyway.”
