Seeing Sacha standing at the door, his furrowed brow immediately relaxed, followed by a look of surprise and joy. “Why did you come? To see me? Couldn’t bear me making a wasted trip, could you?”
The feeling of joy was indescribable.
Sacha’s gaze fell to the back of his injured hand.
A flicker of pity quickly passed through her eyes, soon concealed.
Her fingers holding the bag tightened gradually.
Trying to keep her voice calm, she said, “I came to talk to you.”
Evan gestured to the side. “Come in.”
She stepped inside.
Noticing the untouched food on the table.
She asked, “Lunch, not eaten?”
Evan smiled, “Not hungry yet. Want something to drink? I’ll pour you one.”
Sacha sat down. “I’m not thirsty. You sit. Let’s talk.”
Evan’s hand holding the cup paused for a moment, then he placed it down.
He could sense that when Sacha said she wanted to talk, she was probably going to talk about breaking up.
He took a deep breath.
Calming his emotions, he walked over and sat opposite her.
“I’m not going to break up with you.”
The words Sacha had prepared were unexpectedly preempted by him. She couldn’t help but furrow her brow.
Evan looked at her and smiled, “I’ll give you time.”
“I need ten years. Can you wait for me?” Sacha intentionally mentioned a long number of years, hoping he would back off.
But Evan didn’t waver at all and earnestly replied, “I can wait for you for a lifetime.”
“You’re crazy,” she blurted out.
“I’m not crazy, I just can’t bear to be without you.” He still had a relaxed expression. “You’re not cheating on me, so I have no reason to let you go.”
Sacha clenched her hands, staring into his eyes. “I don’t like you anymore.”
Evan asked, “Have you ever liked me? You’ve always loved me.”
Sacha hesitated.
The old him wouldn’t say things like this.
Always serious.
Suddenly not playing by the rules, Sacha didn’t know how to respond.
Evan gently lowered his gaze, staring at her tightly clenched hands, and in a low voice, said, “When I became a vegetable, you didn’t reject me. Even if I might not wake up, you were willing to take care of me. You must love me deeply to be so firm. Similarly, I can stay by your side. Do you understand?”
Sacha pretended to be calm. “I pitied you, loved you? Evan, why are you so shameless?”
She got up to leave. “If you don’t want to talk, then that’s it!”
Evan sat still. “Sacha.”
She stopped in her tracks and turned around. “What?”
“How do you want to talk?” He looked at her. “If we break up, will you really be happy?”
Sacha was honest. “At least, I won’t have any pressure.”
“Is this okay with you?” Evan stood up and walked over to her. “Tonight, I’ll go find two girls, I’ll sleep with them. Will that make you feel better?”
Sacha hesitated.
She bit her lip. “Do what you want, no one’s stopping you.”
She said and tried to walk away, but Evan grabbed her arm. “According to you, this should even things out. Why aren’t you happy yet? Don’t you want me to sleep with other women?”
“No,” Sacha didn’t admit.
Evan said, “Lying is not a good habit.”
“You’re the one lying, I’m sincere.” Sacha struggled, “Let go of me.”
Evan remained patient. “Since you’re sincere, I’ll call the girls right now, and you can watch here.”
Sacha stared at him. “You’re a pervert!”
