Chapter 617 Circling Around

He was different from his usual self.
Elijah, with a hint of confusion, opened the files handed to him by Evan.
After reading through, he didn’t find anything unusual.
It was just a company’s information.
“Can we have business dealings with this company?” Elijah furrowed his brows slightly, staring at Evan with incomprehension.
This was a Country M cosmetics company that they were talking about.
How could they collaborate with this company?
Their company didn’t operate in this sector.
Even if they were planning to expand, it wouldn’t be in this area.
Evan hurriedly explained, “I heard that Sacha works at this company, so if we can establish business relations with them, I can naturally meet her.”
Elijah, “…”
Going around in such a big circle just to meet her?
“What if she quits before you get to meet her?” Elijah asked.
Evan, “…”
“If she goes to work at a restaurant, are we going to open one too?” Elijah questioned him.
Evan fell silent.
Elijah got up, walked over to him, and patted his shoulder, “If you want to meet her, just go and meet her. Don’t go around in circles like this, be straightforward.”
It wasn’t that Evan didn’t want to be direct, but he was afraid she wouldn’t meet him.
Elijah, feeling exasperated, “You haven’t even tried, and you’re already giving up?”
Evan thought about it and realized it was true.
If he couldn’t meet her directly, a sneak peek at her would at least reassure him about her well-being, easing his constant worry and longing.
Immediately, he booked a flight!
After booking the ticket, Evan asked, “Is what I suggested last time feasible?”
Elijah sat back in his chair, “I haven’t discussed it with her yet.”
Freya had been very busy lately.
She had been returning home late these past few days.
He hadn’t found the right opportunity yet.
Evan believed that if Elijah thought it was feasible, he wouldn’t have hesitated for so long.
Dragging things out wasn’t his style.
“Do you have reservations?” Evan inquired.
Elijah tapped his fingers on the table, “This may not be as simple as we think. Even though you believe that as long as no one is around Freya, we can lure out the mastermind, looking at the meticulousness of the recent crime, where no traces were left behind, it’s clear that the mastermind is cautious. Freya has always had someone by her side. If all of a sudden, there’s no one around her, it’s obviously a trap, not easy to catch the other party off guard.”
Evan realized Elijah was right.
“Should we just do nothing then?”
Elijah was contemplating.
He lacked evidence at the moment.
He couldn’t risk startling the snake in the grass.
“Not urgent.” He already had a suspect in mind.
Ronan was a complete waste.
Having Xander watching him, Elijah dared not, nor did he have the time or energy for this matter.
Those who know him and are intent on bringing him down through Freya, weren’t difficult to guess.
“Alright.” Evan trusted Elijah’s judgment.
If he could remain so composed, he must have a plan in mind.
Therefore, Evan proceeded to plan his trip to Country M.

Past ten o’clock, Neo walked over and asked, “Do you want supper?”
Their research was already in the experimental stage, with clinical trials on animals in progress.
Freya was currently performing surgery.
With medical gloves on and a surgical knife in hand, she was immersed in the final sutures.
“What time is it?”
She asked without lifting her head.
“It’s almost eleven.” Neo replied.
“I’ll go back after this, no need to eat,” she replied.
Someone had to monitor the animals implanted with heart monitors here around the clock.
Finishing the surgery, she put down the surgical knife. She was too tired. “You can handle the rest, I’ll come earlier tomorrow.”
“Okay. You can leave everything to me. Don’t worry,” Neo reassured her.
Freya took off her white coat and drank a bottle of water.
She had been standing for three hours during this surgery.
Her arms and legs felt sore.
After a brief rest, she left the hospital.
She got into the car, letting Eagle drive her back.
Upon arriving home, she found Elijah hadn’t returned yet.
To her surprise, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Otherwise, she would have been worried about his complaints about coming back so late.
After a shower, she went to bed.
Maybe she was too tired, as she quickly fell asleep.
In a daze, she felt as if she was being pressed down!
Breathing became difficult.
“Ugh…”
