Perhaps this was a joyful occasion.
But upon closer reflection, it seemed rather unlikely.
After all, Evan had not tracked down those people.
How could they have been caught so quickly?
She dialed Elijah’s number.
After a moment, he answered.
She immediately asked, “Have they caught the ones who hurt Sacha?”
“Have you seen the news?”
“Yes, I have. How did it happen so quickly?” It felt unreal.
“Because it’s fake,” Elijah patiently explained, “Those people have been in hiding, so we couldn’t catch them. We set up this ruse to make everyone believe we’ve caught our target. When they see the news, they will think…”
“I understand.” Freya’s mind raced, “They will think we caught the wrong person, and someone took the fall for them. Then they will come out of hiding recklessly, and we can catch them.”
“Yes.” Elijah held the phone, asking, “Did you call just to ask about this?”
Freya had originally wanted him to handle the situation with Doctor Lee and the fairy.
But now he was busy catching those people.
Freya didn’t want to distract him.
“Yes, I called after seeing the news to check on you. Since it was just a plan, I won’t bother you further.” With that, she hung up.
She stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding her phone.
It seemed she had to rely on herself.
“Dean, no luck negotiating?” Neo approached.
Freya turned to him, “No.”
“Then why the troubled expression?” Neo asked.
Freya had no time to explain, “Go handle your tasks.”
With that, she entered the meeting room.
Doctor Lee immediately asked, “Do you have a solution?”
“Yes,” Freya sat down.
She took out a pen and notebook, “Now, tell me everything you know about those people, and also about the woman who put a spell on you.”
Doctor Lee shook his head, “I don’t know that woman. I just had a cup of coffee, didn’t even drink alcohol, and somehow blacked out. When I woke up, I was naked in a hotel bed with someone else.”
Freya said, “Then tell me everything you do know.”
Doctor Lee divulged all he knew.
After all, it affected his future.
Freya had a rough idea of the situation.
“Did you agree on a signing date?” she asked.
“They wanted it as soon as possible. I delayed for three days, and we agreed to sign at their company after three days,” Doctor Lee said.
Freya nodded, “Understood.”
“But…”
“I will find a solution,” Freya said, “You can go back for now, and wait for my message.”
“Alright.” Doctor Lee stood up and looked at Freya, “If nothing works out, don’t provoke them. They have evidence against me. Once those photos are leaked, I’ll be ruined.”
“I understand,” Freya said.
Once Doctor Lee left, Freya dialed Maddox Greyson’s number.
Maddox Greyson was in the pharmaceutical industry.
This company was also in the pharmaceutical field, perhaps profiting from artificial hearts.
Maddox Greyson likely understood his peers.
So, Freya’s task now was to find evidence of misconduct in this pharmaceutical company.
Additionally, she would try to see if she could steal something.
The call connected quickly.
Freya got straight to the point, “I need your help. Ono Pharmaceutical, please check their background for any irregularities.”
Without questioning her, the other party readily agreed.
Perhaps Freya’s urgency had played a part.
Ending the call, Freya stood up.
It was time to head back.
Sitting in the car, she asked Eagle, “Besides your martial arts prowess, do you have any other special skills?”
