Chapter 604: ESCAPE

Book:You Are My Mr Right Published:2024-6-4

Freya and Elijah disembarked from the plane, where Evan was there to greet them.
As Elijah strolled towards the airport exit, he inquired, “Is everything taken care of?”
Evan subtly looked at Freya before responding with a quiet “Hmm,” leaving out the details.
Freya walked arm in arm with Elijah, knowing that Evan was probably withholding information in her presence.
She was involved in this matter.
She should know when the culprit would be caught.
“Evan, you can speak freely,” she spoke up.
Evan lowered his gaze slightly and said, “I didn’t mean to hide anything from you, I just didn’t want you to worry about it.”
“It’s okay, go ahead,” Freya replied firmly.
After a moment of silence, Evan began, “This group of people has committed many crimes in Linqing City. Due to police pursuit, they fled and traveled to several other cities, also because of their criminal activities.”
“So you mean, these individuals were already criminals, having committed crimes in several cities before, and this time, it’s likely their own doing, not at the behest of anyone else?” Elijah raised an eyebrow.
“Absolutely impossible!” Freya directly denied, her tone slightly agitated. “When they arrested me, they asked if I was Freya by name. Clearly, they didn’t know me, but someone instructed them to apprehend me. That’s why they initially asked if I was Freya to confirm my identity.”
Elijah held her hand. “Stay calm, I’m just asking.”
Freya also realized she was getting overly emotional.
She took a moment to calm herself.
Evan spoke truthfully, “Currently, I haven’t obtained evidence that they were bribed by someone. Of course, that doesn’t mean they weren’t paid off. I’m very concerned that they are experienced in escaping. They left no significant clues in several places, and now, we can’t be sure if they are still in the city or have already fled.”
After hearing this, Freya couldn’t help but feel despondent.
Because they hadn’t been able to catch those bad guys yet. According to Evan, those people had committed many crimes and were cautious, making them difficult to apprehend.
Elijah patted her back. “We’ll catch them sooner or later.”
Freya nodded heavily.
As the car pulled up to their residence, Freya was about to get out when her phone suddenly rang.
She answered it.
Her brows furrowed tighter as she listened to the other end of the line.
“I understand.”
Ending the call, her expression tightened.
“What’s wrong?” Elijah asked.
Taking a deep breath, Freya replied, “It’s a work-related matter. I may need to go to the office immediately.”
“I’ll take you…”
“No need,” Freya interrupted, “You and Evan must have things to attend to. Eagle can take me.”
With that, she got out of the car and into another one.
Elijah walked up to the car.
Lowering the window, Freya looked up at him. “I’ll be back as soon as I finish.”
Elijah lowered his gaze. “I just want to tell you, don’t push yourself when faced with something you can’t handle. If you need my help, let me know.”
“Okay,” Freya replied.
The window rolled up.
Freya told Eagle, “Let’s go!”
The car quickly drove off.
Throughout the journey, Freya was anxious, occasionally checking the time.
Thirty minutes later, they arrived at the entrance to the office.
She got out of the car.
Neo rushed over, “Director, you finally came.”
Freya strode inside. “What’s going on?”
