Upon seeing the arrival of Freya, Sacha’s expression was clearly surprised for a few seconds, then she got up from the sofa. “Why are you here?” she asked.
“I came to see you,” Freya replied.
Sacha gestured for her to sit.
She seemed a bit flustered, “I haven’t tidied up yet.”
Her hair was a bit disheveled, and she wore loose home clothes.
“I’m not a stranger, you don’t have to worry about it,” Freya reassured her.
Sacha’s lips tugged into a smile.
“You’ve lost weight, have you not been eating properly?” Freya inquired.
Sacha sat on the sofa, “I have no appetite.”
She only ate to avoid worrying Eric Lowe.
Freya looked at her frail figure and felt a tight knot in her heart.
“Let’s go downstairs!” Sacha stood up.
Freya agreed.
They went downstairs.
There was no one in the living room.
“Where’s my dad?” Sacha asked the servant.
“He’s in the study,” the servant replied.
Sacha walked over, and as she raised her hand to knock on the door, she realized it wasn’t properly closed. A thin crack revealed Eric Lowe’s voice from inside, “Sacha is a filial child. If one day I’m gone, the thing I can’t let go of is her. I want to ask you for a favor. I know it may seem excessive, given your position, can you tell me the address of your mother’s grave? That would be enough for me, instead of making any more requests.”
“I’ll take care of her like a sister,” Elijah knew what Eric Lowe wanted to say.
He probably wanted to entrust Sacha to him.
He had observed that Sacha had a good personality.
This time, it was because of Freya that she had suffered so much.
If not for her, it would be Freya suffering.
Eric Lowe didn’t expect Elijah to agree so readily.
“Thank you.”
“Don’t be so formal.” Elijah was willing to treat Sacha as a sister not just because she shielded Freya from disaster this time, but also because Sacha was a child raised by his mother.
Freya was right, having more family members made their home feel more like a home.
Sacha pushed open the door, “Dad.”
Eric Lowe saw her, “Why did you come down?”
“I didn’t come down, can’t you hear your own rambling upstairs?” she strode in, hugged Eric Lowe, “May you live a long life.”
Eric Lowe patted her back, “You’re all grown up now, crying at the drop of a hat, not afraid of being laughed at by others.”
Sacha’s emotions got the better of her briefly.
Entrusting her to Elijah was also for her future.
She understood this act of benevolent care.
That’s why she was moved to tears.
Sacha sniffled, “There’s no one else here.”
She looked at Elijah, “I’ve always treated Freya like a sister-in-law.”
“Okay.” Elijah replied softly.
“Stay for dinner tonight,” Eric Lowe suggested.
Elijah hadn’t planned to stay longer, his return ticket was already booked.
But he didn’t refuse this offer, “Alright.”
Eric Lowe was pleased.
They went to a restaurant outside.
Sacha linked arms with Freya.
In a hushed tone, she whispered in her ear, “My dad is very happy.”
Freya understood.
“Mom is Dad’s most loved person, and Mom’s child, he loves them too.”
Sacha was referring to Eric Lowe’s feelings for Elijah.
It was love that encompassed all.
“Sacha, cheer up, you’ll find happiness too.” Freya encouraged her, taking the opportunity to uplift her, “We all love you very much.”
Sacha looked at Freya.
There was a hint of determination in her eyes.
She replied firmly, “Yes.”
“I’m going to work.” Their conversation was brief.
But suddenly, there was a sense of clarity.
Freya agreed.
Being immersed in busy work, there was no time to dwell on unpleasant matters.
…
Freya and Elijah stayed at a hotel overnight and left the next day.
Upon returning to Z country, Freya ran into trouble.
