auntie Julie sniffed and nodded, a smile piled up on her face along with her, “Yes, I will keep it all in my mind!” Miss Elena’s safety is my safety.”
“Well.” The butler looked satisfied, “It’s best if you think so.”
The housekeeper looked at the closed door and hesitated for a moment, “If there is anything you need to do in the future, just come to me directly. ”
“I know.” auntie Julie answered.
But she couldn’t help but wonder how Elena Bush and Edward Ford were getting on so badly, even though they were obviously father and daughter.
She kept her doubts to herself and kept her mouth shut so as not to cause any trouble.
For a few days afterwards, auntie Julie did exactly as she said she would, staying quietly at the door and answering any questions as soon as she was told, but if she wasn’t told, she stayed at the door and didn’t allow anyone to disturb Elena Bush.
Elena Bush was somewhat pleased with this.
After sending messages to each other and Logan Brown, she started to think of something else to do.
As soon as she stepped out of the bedroom, auntie Julie, who was guarding the door, followed her silently, without asking where she was going.
It was only when she was about to leave the Ford that the housekeeper rushed out in time to pull her back, “Miss Elena, what do you want to do?”
Elena Bush gave him a displeased look, “Why, didn’t Edward Ford say I could come and go from the Ford as I pleased? Furthermore, auntie Julie is behind me, do you think anything will happen?”
“No, Miss Elena, that’s not what I meant ……”
“Whatever you mean, you need to get out of my face now, I want out!”
Her voice was cold and not as light as she appeared, instead it was a little intimidating.
The butler couldn’t stop her, so he had to move out of the way and said to the doorman, “Open the door, Miss Elena wants to go out.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, the door opened and the butler forced a smile and said, “Miss Elena, where are you going, do you need a car?”
“No!” She responded coldly, “I just want to take a casual walk in peace.”
The butler could not say anything, but stepped back and gave auntie Julie a suggestive look.
Elena Bush didn’t miss the exchange of glances, but only slightly withdrew her thoughts when she saw that auntie Julie looked as if she couldn’t see anything.
As she left the Ford, auntie Julie followed silently behind Elena Bush, keeping a distance of a few metres so that she did not have to worry.
“Miss Elena, do you want to go shopping or are you looking for somewhere quiet?” auntie Julie suddenly appeared behind her and spoke, startling her.
“I thought you said you wouldn’t bother me?” She furrowed her brow.
Seeing her displeasure, auntie Julie immediately explained, “I just saw that you’ve been distracted and thought you didn’t know much about places to go in G. That’s why I thought I could introduce you to them.”
“That’s not necessary.” Elena Bush interrupted by raising her hand, “I’ve been here before and I want to go somewhere.”
“I’ll get a cab then.” auntie Julie immediately went to hail a taxi, which Elena Bush didn’t even have time to stop.
At the end of the day, simply not caring, she had to get into the car and give the location of a mausoleum straight away.
The driver couldn’t help but feel a little intimidated by a place like a cemetery, and kindly reminded her, “Miss, ma’am, I can take you there, yes, but I can’t wait for you to come back.”
Elena Bush smiled, “Okay, don’t worry, just let us down at the junction over there, no need to go in or wait for us.”
The driver relaxed a little at that, “That would be best, of course.”
Elena Bush’s understanding also made him a little embarrassed, slightly apologetic while starting the car, “Miss, it’s not that I feel bad luck, but there is no one around there, I went there and came back for nothing, and the place is far away, so …… ”
“I know.” She nodded.
Then side-eye whispered in auntie Julie’s ear, “Give him some more money when you get off later, it’s not easy to give us a ride.”
auntie Julie immediately responded, looking at her somewhat uncertainly, “What are you doing at the cemetery, Miss Elena? Anyone you know?”
“There is.”
“Who?”
Elena Bush looked away and didn’t look at her again, nor did she answer.
auntie Julie couldn’t, so she withdrew her gaze and quietly hunkered down in the corner, making her presence as small as possible.
The cemetery
It was the second time Elena Bush had been here, when she had first married Logan Brown and he had brought her here. When he had first said he was going to see his mother, she had subconsciously thought of Jacqueline, only she had not expected another gentle and modest woman.
Following her memory, Elena Bush went straight to the grave of Logan Brown’s mother.
Only, to her surprise, a man was kneeling squarely in front of the headstone, his voice so low that she couldn’t hear what he was saying.
She turned and said to auntie Julie behind her, “You wait here for me, no following me.”
“Then Miss Elena you ……”
“Don’t worry, there’s no one else here, and I can’t leave.”Elena Bush interrupted her concerns, “Besides, I’m going to see someone I want to see, and there are things that you shouldn’t hear.”
There was no way to convince her, so auntie Julie took a few steps back and found herself a suitable spot to stand.
Only then did Elena Bush relax a little, her lips curving up in a nice curve.
Her steps lightened up a little and she walked straight towards the man not far away.
The closer she got, the faster her heart beat, Elena Bush couldn’t help but cover her chest, and slowly put a hand on the man’s shoulder and said, “Logan Brown ……”
The man heard a voice behind him and subconsciously turned around.
The small woman’s figure was reflected in his eyes and his face could not help but immediately change into a delighted look after him, “Elena, you ……”
Elena Bush hooked her lips into a smile, “Didn’t I tell you? I’ll be out today, it’s just that …… I couldn’t think of you coming to see Mum too.”
Shouldn’t that say that there was a heart-to-heart between the two of them?
Logan Brown wordlessly circled her into his arms, a contented smile involuntarily following the corners of his lips, “I’m glad you remember her.”
“Stupid!” Elena Bush snapped out of his embrace with a staged grimace of displeasure, “Is this because you think I’ll forget what happened with you?”
