Freya followed his gaze and saw Sacha. Yesterday she was causing trouble upstairs, and today she was causing trouble downstairs. Kai was still playing with a red balloon in his hand.
“She’s not a stranger,” Freya explained briefly to him.
Zane nodded and whispered, “She doesn’t live here, right?”
Otherwise, wouldn’t it be inconvenient?
Freya said no and walked up to Sacha. “No need to set anything up.”
“Why?” Luna, who had come out from inside, asked.
“Yeah, why?” Sacha asked too.
“Luna.” Seeing Luna, Zane forgot about everything else.
Luna stood there motionless. Her eyes were somewhat cold. It dampened half of Zane’s enthusiasm. Feeling sulky, he didn’t continue walking forward. Freya glanced at him, then looked at Luna, feeling that there was something strange between the two of them.
“Tell us quickly, what’s going on? Why don’t we need to decorate anymore?” Sacha grabbed Freya’s arm.
Freya replied, “There have been some unexpected changes. The wedding needs to be postponed.”
“What happened?” Sacha pressed.
“It’s nothing, just cancel everything,” Freya took the initiative.
Sacha frowned. She had been busy for two days, so why cancel the wedding all of a sudden? Could it be that Elijah had cheated and Freya caught him? Was that why they were canceling the wedding? Otherwise, why would they cancel it for any other reason?
The more she thought about it, the angrier Sacha became. So she stormed off in anger. She called Evan and found out where Elijah was. She went straight to him. As soon as she opened her mouth, she questioned, “Why did you cancel the wedding? Did you do something unforgivable…”
“Sacha.”
Sacha’s words were cut off as Evan covered her mouth. Because of the wedding, Elijah’s face remained cold. His mood was not good. Sacha’s restless behavior would only make Elijah even more unhappy.
“Don’t say anything. Go back obediently. I’ll tell you tonight.”
Sacha stared wide-eyed, feeling indignant on Freya’s behalf! She wanted to say more, but Evan stared her down and sent her back. Reluctantly, she said, “I understand.”
“Okay, go back!” Evan let go of her.
Sacha, unwilling, dared to glare at Elijah before turning around and leaving.
Evan thought to himself, “Why does she make things so troublesome? She even dares to glare at Elijah?”
He smiled at Elijah, trying to appease him. “Sacha didn’t mean any harm. She probably heard about the wedding cancellation and couldn’t understand, so…”
“Enough.” Elijah didn’t pay much attention. He wasn’t blind; he knew Sacha was standing up for Freya. Even though she was a little afraid of him, she still defended Freya. He admired her genuine nature.
“Let’s focus on the matter at hand. Have you found anything?”
“I haven’t found anyone who has been in contact with her,” Evan said, “Could it be that this is her doing alone?”
Elijah glanced at him coldly. “She alone has the ability to attract so many media outlets and cause such a concentrated news explosion?”
It was obviously planned.
Elijah speculated, “Even if Zane hadn’t made a mistake, Calista would still be dead.”
Evan fell silent. The news had already spread as soon as the incident occurred, and it was everywhere. He couldn’t contain it.
“Keep a close eye on the news updates.” Elijah wasn’t afraid of news reports; he was afraid of Freya and Zane being implicated. After all, they were both present at the scene when the person died, and there were surveillance cameras all over the building.
“Have you made sure all the surveillance footage has been deleted?”
Evan confirmed that he had. He went there immediately and deleted all the footage of Freya and Zane.
“Well, go and take care of it.” Elijah raised his hand.
Evan opened the door and walked out, bumping into Ronan in the corridor.
“What are you doing here?”
Evan had no patience!
“I’m here to see Elijah.”
Ronan snorted and walked towards the office. As he passed by Evan, he deliberately bumped into him. Without even knocking, he pushed the door open. He called Elijah’s name directly, laughing arrogantly, “Elijah, I heard your wedding got canceled?!”
