“We’re from the insurance company, Mr Silverton asked us to deliver something,” the man at the front said.
Linda let out a sigh of relief, realizing they weren’t bad guys. Her heart, which had been in her throat, slowly settled down. “Please come in.”
Freya looked up. The man placed two leather suitcases on the table and opened them. “Miss Stone, right? Please inspect these.”
Freya asked, “What is it?”
“Take a look, please.”
The man turned the suitcases towards her. When she saw what was inside, Freya felt surpried. Though she didn’t understand, she could tell that this set of jewelry was quite valuable.
The man explained, “Mr Silverton acquired this jewelry set for $3. 8 million at an auction in Country M. He entrusted our company to transport it back to the country. It’s an antique diamond jewelry set, passed down by the royal family of Country Y.”
Freya didn’t fully understand, but hearing the price, she furrowed her brow. This must be a diamond that can be passed down as a family heirloom, right?
But she had two sons, and in the future, she would have two daughters-in-law. Which daughter-in-law should she give it to? Just thinking about it was troubling. However, she maintained a smile on her face. She appreciated beautiful things. This jewelry set was incredibly stunning.
“These are pigeon-blood Burmese rubies, weighing from 1. 27 to 5. 38 carats each.”
Freya counted, there were a total of 26 oval-shaped rubies, each adorned with a cluster of pear-shaped and white marquise-cut diamonds. The skillful placement of diamonds and rubies created the effect of a flower, making the necklace resemble a floral wreath. There was also a matching pair of earrings.
“This set of jewelry originally included a bracelet, but it seems to have been collected by someone else, so it’s not complete.”
Freya nodded, indicating her understanding.
She asked, “What’s in this other suitcase?”
The man opened it. Inside was a crown, and with just one glance, Freya knew it was no less expensive than the necklace. Perfect, she would have two daughters-in-law in the future, so she could give one to each. If Elijah knew that she was looking at these not with gratitude, but thinking about how to divide them between her two future daughters-in-law, he would probably be unhappy, right?
“Is this part of it too?”
In the suitcase that held the crown, there was also a jade bracelet. The black velvet underneath set off the sparkling diamonds, and the bracelet was a vibrant shade of green.
“Right,” the man replied.
Freya nodded, “Well, thank you.”
“It’s our job.”
Linda saw them off, and Freya closed the suitcases and took them to her study, placing them on the desk for the time being.
As Freya went upstairs, the bedroom was nicely decorated. At first, she didn’t feel much, but as she looked at the room filled with decoration, she started to feel a sense of celebration.
“Are you happy?” Sacha asked.
Freya smiled, “I’m happy.”
How could she not be happy when she was marrying the person she loved?
“Look at how happy you are,” Sacha teased.
Luna, on the other hand, remained quiet, arranging ‘HAPPY WEDDING’ characters.
Freya said, “Now get some rest, there are fruits prepared downstairs.”
“I think I should go back now, it’s getting late.”
“Stay and have dinner here, please.” Freya insisted.
“I have something to do.” Luna declined.
Freya sensed her coldness, but she understood that Luna had forgotten about her, so she didn’t mind. Seeing Luna leave, Sacha didn’t want to stay either. While they got along well with Freya, Elijah had a bad temper, and she didn’t want to see his cold face.
“I’ll leave too.” Sacha said.
Freya had no choice but to personally see them off. When they reached the front door, a car happened to be parked there.
Following that, Elijah stepped out of the car.
