Upon seeing the diary, Elijah felt irritated. His expression wasn’t too good either. In a cold tone, he asked, “What are you doing? Are you reminiscing or feeling regretful?”
Freya felt puzzled. Lately, he had been like this, but she didn’t pay much attention to his strange behavior. She suggested, “Let’s go outside.”
She reached out to hold Elijah’s arm. But Elijah stubbornly refused to move. Freya withdrew her hand. She wasn’t one to insist on his support. She could walk on her own. She took a step forward, trying to walk away lightly.
Elijah couldn’t stand it. “Are you deliberately pretending to be pitiful in front of me?”
Freya simply ignored him, pretending not to hear. This man had been acting strange lately, and she didn’t want to provoke him or get into an argument. Freya resolutely continued walking. Elijah came over and hugged her.
She pursed her lips. “Elijah, tell me, what’s gotten into you?”
Elijah replied, annoyed, “I’m hungry.”
He carried her into the dining room and helped her sit in a chair.
Linda brought out delicious food, and the aroma filled the air. Freya was hungry and grabbed her fork first. Luna walked in, supporting Orion, whose injuries had been taken care of.
“Sit down quickly,” Evan said.
Orion smiled, “Sorry for the trouble.”
Evan chuckled and teased, “Indeed, it’s quite amusing. Just looking at your greenish face, we don’t need to eat anymore. We can feast our eyes on you.”
“Get out of here,” Orion pretended to scold, but there was no trace of anger on his face.
“With so many delicious dishes, I won’t leave,” Evan said, picking up his fork.
The atmosphere at the table was joyful.
Taking advantage of Luna’s absence from the table as she went to the restroom, Evan leaned closer to Orion and whispered, “I think something is off with Luna. Be careful with her.”
When Luna hit Orion with a stick, he watched her expression on the monitor and realized it wasn’t directed at Zane. It was directed at Orion. And she was quite harsh. In theory, Luna should have been gentle with Orion since she lost her memory. But all he saw on her face was hatred.
As Orion opened his eyes, he realized Evan was speaking ill of Luna.
“Be careful of her? What do you mean?” he questioned.
Evan was taken aback by Orion’s strong reaction.
He had good intentions!
“Are you jealous and resentful because you see me happy now? Are you trying to defame my Luna?” Orion said with a cold face.
Evan didn’t want to offend Orion. He smiled and said, “Just forget I said anything.”
Orion sneered, “So you’re jealous and resentful after all.”
Evan took a bite of his food and casually said, “I also have a charming beauty at home. Do I need to be jealous of you?”
“Tsk tsk, Evan, you’re beating around the bush. You just wanted to show off. If you want to show off, go ahead. Why beat around the bush?” Orion said.
Evan pursed his lips and said no more.
Luna came over and sat next to Orion. She asked softly, “Have you finished eating?”
Orion asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I want to go back,” she said.
“Aren’t you going to catch up with Freya? You used to be good friends,” Orion asked.
Luna shook her head. “Let’s go back.”
“I still have something to do, so I’ll leave first,” Orion said, getting up.
Freya wanted to keep Luna and talk, but Elijah interrupted, “You guys go back.”
Orion left with Luna.
Freya whispered, “Why won’t he let me speak?”
“You’re injured. Finish your meal and go upstairs to rest,” Elijah said firmly.
Freya glanced at the children before going upstairs.

That night, she couldn’t fall asleep no matter how she tossed and turned. Suddenly, she thought of the diary that fell on the ground today, and Elijah’s words. These two seemed to be connected. Could they be related to that diary?
She turned her head and looked at Elijah, who was fast asleep. She quietly got up. Without turning on the lights, she opened the door and went downstairs. She held onto the staircase railing and walked down slowly, reaching the study on the ground floor. She found the diary and opened it. Page by page, there didn’t seem to be anything significant, just some of her own records. Until she came across a diary entry about Adam Jackson, she froze.
