While waiting at the traffic lights, Freya looked through the car window and saw a familiar car. Before she could get a clear look, the car drove away. She turned around and vaguely saw Deck getting out of the car. No wonder she found the car familiar. It belonged to Jack. Now that Elijah and that side had no contact, Freya didn’t think much about it.
Back home.
The house was quiet, with only faint sounds coming from the kitchen. Elowen sat on the couch, organizing baby supplies. These were just purchased today.
“Where’s Elijah?” asked Freya.
“He’s in the room talking to Evan,” Elowen replied. She went to check on the baby, who was already asleep, and quietly left the room.
“Go ask them if they’re done talking. Dinner is ready.”
Freya went to the study, the door was half-closed, and she reached out to push it open. Just as she heard Evan speaking, “Xander took care of that doctor. He’s close to that area. And this time, Ronan caused trouble again. What do you plan to do?”
Elijah didn’t resort to any means, even though he had taken Ronan’s child as a hostage, it was out of desperation to save his own child. In the past, Elijah was decisive and quick in his actions. But now that he had become a father. He also had a hint of compassion, so he wouldn’t harm a child. But he wasn’t planning to let Ronan get away with what he had done. He had been too merciful with him in the past. That was why Ronan took advantage and even stole his child. Because of the child, Freya was filled with worries and anxieties, and the constant fear was taking a toll on her. This account must be settled. The attacks on Ronan were just small tricks.
“Find a way, get someone to infiltrate his company. If that doesn’t work, undermine their core business. And, with all those late-night activities, accidents are bound to happen.”
Evan’s eyes lit up as he understood immediately.
Freya pretended she hadn’t heard anything, gently pushed open the door, and stood at the entrance. “Dinner is ready. Evan, you should stay and eat with us.”
Evan politely declined, “I have some things to take care of. I’ll be on my way.”
Freya had heard everything just now, so she didn’t try to persuade him. She nodded lightly. After Evan left, Freya walked in. She brought up the topic of the Silverton family.
Elijah became curious, “Why suddenly ask about this?”
“Today when I came back from Orion that I saw Deck. His car was parked outside a club, perhaps he was meeting someone.”
“I’ll keep an eye on it,” Elijah walked over. “Let’s go have dinner.”
…
Stratos City.
Ronan had a few drinks during a social gathering. He went to the restroom in the middle and accidentally bumped into someone in the corridor. But that person grabbed onto him and wouldn’t let go, causing a commotion. Ronan wasn’t in a good mood either, and things escalated. In the end, they got into a fight. Ronan didn’t come out on top and ended up badly beaten. He couldn’t even get up from the ground at the time. The other person was skilled in taekwondo and combat sports. After beating Ronan, the person fled.
Ronan was taken to the hospital, and when he woke up, he immediately had someone investigate. Since his most trusted person was not around, he sent someone else in his place. They searched for a week. But they couldn’t find out who the person was that beat him that day. In these past few days, Ronan’s injuries had healed somewhat. In the calmness, he had a rough idea of who was behind it.
“Besides him, there wouldn’t be anyone else. Go out for a while, is everything settled?” Ronan tried to move a bit, but his bones ached. Although there were no obvious scars, there were serious internal injuries.
His assistant said, “It’s settled.”
Ronan curled his lips. “This time, I must strike first. I won’t let myself be at a disadvantage again. Dealing with him for so long, I know his methods.”
The assistant was now worried about his injuries. “Mr Vega, it’s been a week and you still can’t get out of bed. Your injuries are serious. You should rest. There’s no rush, right?”
Ronan raised his gaze, his eyebrows raised. “What do you know? If I don’t act quickly, I’ll be the one at a loss. Haven’t you seen that I’ve already suffered losses?”
The assistant understood, “So, Mr Vega, you mean the person who attacked you this time was sent by Elijah?”
“Who else could it be? Why do you think we can’t find him? It was all planned.” Ronan’s face turned cold. “I won’t let this loss go to waste.”
