“Freya, do you have a moment?” Orion asked.
“No, do you need something?” Freya replied. She had just reunited with her youngest son, and now that they were finally together as a family, she wanted to spend some quality time with them. She didn’t want to go out. Nothing was more important to her than being at home with her son.
“Luna is with me now, but she has forgotten everything and doesn’t recognize me. She holds a strong grudge against me, and I can’t communicate with her properly. I thought maybe you could talk to her on my behalf,” Orion explained.
Freya hesitated for a moment. “Can it wait a bit?”
Her son just arrived home, and she need to settle him down. Taking care of a newborn required extra care and attention.
Orion agreed, “Sure, I gave her a sedative shot, so she should be asleep for three to four hours.”
After hanging up the phone, Freya carried Kai into the house. Elowen had taken care of Kai when he was little, so now she was well-versed in taking care of the younger one without needing much help. Freya could only stand by, holding Kai and watching.
Elijah stood in the room, not saying a word. His usually calm and composed face now showed emotions. There was a rare moment of tranquility and tenderness on his face. At this moment, everything seemed peaceful and serene.
“Freya,” Elijah called.
Freya looked up, their gazes meeting. She raised her lips, a smile appearing. “Yes, what do you need?”
“Now that we have two children, I was thinking, back when we got married, we didn’t have a wedding ceremony. Now that our children are here, we can have a wedding and truly complete our family. What do you think?” Elijah proposed.
Freya furrowed her brow. “I don’t have the energy for that.”
She hadn’t even had proper rest. Planning a wedding would involve a lot of hassle and preparation. In truth, it didn’t matter to her anymore. They already had two children. Did they still need a wedding to prove their commitment?
Elijah saw through her thoughts. He took Kai from her arms and said, “A wedding may not prove much, but it can let everyone know your status.”
The nature of Freya’s relationship with Elijah was not very clear to outsiders. It needed to be proven through a wedding.
“Elijah is right,” Elowen looked at Freya, “When you married…”
She realized she was saying too much and quickly skipped over it, “Having a wedding would be nice.”
What Elowen wanted to say was that when Freya married Elijah, it was not a respectable situation. She was forced into the Silverton family. And her marriage with Elijah was also kept secret. Not many people knew about it. Now, with two children, the outside world had some inkling. However, to outsiders, their relationship was still unclear.
“Everything should be done properly. For the sake of the two children, you should listen to Elijah,” Elowen said with satisfaction. “Back then, it was for my sake. I always thought, my daughter, she entered their family without a proper marriage, no formal betrothal. It was supposed to be a joyous occasion, but it turned into something secretive. Now that you have the chance, why not have a wedding?”
“That’s right, let’s do it!” Linda chimed in.
Freya could only agree, “Okay, I’ll listen to you.”
Elijah smiled contentedly, holding their son in one arm and embracing Freya with the other. “You don’t have to do anything, I’ll take care of everything.”
“Okay.” Freya played with their son’s soft, fair little hand, kissing it and rubbing it in her own hand.
“I’m going out for a bit later.”She said while teasing their son.
This statement was directed at Elijah.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“Orion called. He found Luna and wants me to go see her.”
“Luna?”
Freya nodded. “Yes, she’s alive. I only found out the details when I met Orion.”
Elijah made a soft “hmm” sound. “Let the driver take you there.”
Freya agreed, and an hour later, she left the house. She had been given the address by Orion. Arriving at the location, she walked up to the door and knocked.
