“Take a closer look, there’s definitely some resemblance.” Orion replied and laughed.
In reality, they looked nothing alike. But he couldn’t say that, or it would be hard to continue the conversation.
The woman laughed happily, “Of course, my child naturally takes after me.”
Orion tried probing again, “I see that she’s similar to me, around 27 years old, right?”
The woman’s expression froze for a moment as she stared at Orion. “Why are you always asking about my daughter? What’s your intention?”
“I just noticed that she’s around the same age as me, and I…”
“Do you like my daughter?”
Orion had intended to say that he wanted to be friends with her daughter. But his words were cut off. So, he went along with it, pretending to be caught, with a hint of embarrassment.
“Oh, you staying at my inn was intentional? You want to pursue my daughter?” The woman seemed to have figured it all out at once.
Orion didn’t deny it either. The woman looked Orion up and down, impressed by his appearance. She felt somewhat satisfied. After all, her daughter wasn’t young anymore. She wouldn’t prevent someone from pursuing her daughter. And it wasn’t like ancient times anymore, where parents’ orders and matchmakers’ words held sway. Nowadays, the focus is on free love.
Orion smiled, tacitly agreeing.
The woman said, “My daughter has a bad temper.”
“I have a good temper, so we can complement each other.” Orion quickly replied.
The woman laughed, “My daughter is grown up now, and as her mother, I can’t make decisions for her. Whether she likes you or not, it’s up to her.”
Orion nodded in understanding, confidently saying, “I’m such a great person, she will like me.”
The woman was amused by his self-assurance, “My daughter is not as simple as you think.”
After finishing the meal, she got up to clean the utensils, “We have many places here with beautiful scenery. You can go around and explore.”
“Thank you for your hospitality.” Orion got up and headed towards the door.
On the stone platform outside the door, he noticed Chelsea Ramirez sitting there. He walked over.
“Hello,” he hesitated, “How about we get to know each other again?”
Chelsea Ramirez turned to look at him, her eyes filled with a hint of coldness and mockery, “Are you crazy?”
Orion frowned, “Why do you say that?”
“I’ve already seen what kind of person you are. Can getting to know you again change you into a good person?” Chelsea Ramirez scoffed.
Orion remained silent.
Was she already convinced that he was a bad person?
Didn’t he even have a chance?
“Sometimes, what you think might not be what you think.” Orion said, observing Chelsea Ramirez’s expression.
There was no change in her expression whatsoever. If she were Luna, hearing those words should have stirred some emotions. But she didn’t show any, not even a hint.
“Is this the line that all you guys use when approaching someone? Isn’t it too cliché?” Chelsea Ramirez stood up and walked away. “If you have nothing else, don’t bother me, I have customers to attend to.”
Orion stood still, just staring at her retreating figure. Even her back looked like Luna’s. The hostess said that Chelsea was her daughter. And Chelsea did not know him at all. He must have mistaken her for Luna, Orion thought. However, Orion couldn’t believe that two people who had no blood relation could look so identical. He knew that Chelsea Ramirez was not easy to get along with. No matter how friendly he tried to be, she wouldn’t pay him any attention. It seemed like he had to find another way to confirm if she was Luna. Since he was staying here, it would be convenient to investigate.
Orion saw Chelsea combing her hair outside. After she left, he went to see if there were any strands of her hair left behind. And he easily found one. He held onto the strand of hair, pondered for a moment, and made a phone call to summon his people.
Shortly after, a man arrived. Orion handed him the hair and instructed him to go to Stratos City. To verify if Chelsea was Luna, they needed the support of Luna’s father.
He had to do this verification with Luna’s father.
“Yes, I will take care of it.”
“Alright, go ahead.” Orion waved his hand.
As soon as the man left, a female voice sounded behind him.
“Why are you being so sneaky? What are you up to?”
