Orion turned around to see Freya, and he got anxious and excited. He hurriedly walked over and grabbed Freya’s arm, his words tumbling out incoherently, “Freya, Luna, I saw Luna, she’s not dead, she’s alive.”
Freya thought Orion was just missing Luna too much and having hallucinations or delusions, so she nodded along, “I understand, come back to the private room with me.”
Orion stared at her with wide eyes, “You don’t believe me?”
Freya quickly reassured him, “Yes, I believe you.”
“But you sound dismissive!” Orion calmed down, speaking seriously, “I really saw her, it’s not my imagination or eyes playing tricks on me, it’s real.”
Freya stared at him. His certainty and his seriousness were genuine.
“Where did you see her?”
“Just now, she’s a waitress here, her name is Chelsea Ramirez.”
“Chelsea Ramirez?”
“She doesn’t recognize me anymore, and she changed her name. I think she might have amnesia.” Orion spoke confidently.
“Take me to see her.”
To convince Freya, Orion called for the manager.
“Bring the waitress from earlier.”
The manager replied, “I already let her go, she was acting restless today and offended you…”
“Do you have her address?” Orion asked.
The manager shook his head.
Orion continued, “Then at least you have her phone number, right?”
The manager nodded.
“Give it to me,” Orion said urgently.
Freya stood quietly to the side.
Orion got the number and was about to dial it when Freya stopped him, “Come with me first.”
Freya pulled him to a secluded spot, saying, “I understand you’re anxious, but if she doesn’t remember you, calling her like this might scare her away.”
Orion thought for a moment, realizing Freya was right. Chelsea Ramirez was clearly repelled earlier, and she even mistook him for a hooligan. Luckily, Freya reminded him. Otherwise, he might really scare her off.
“What should we do then?” Orion started to panic. His excitement had clouded his ability to think calmly.
“We’ll investigate in secret.” Freya couldn’t stay outside forever, as she had been away for a long time. “Let’s go back first.”
“But…”
“She’s not working today, waiting here won’t do any good. Come back tomorrow when she’s on duty, follow her to her address, and investigate her home to see if she’s Luna. It should be easy to find out.” Freya suggested.
“Yes, let’s do as you say.” Orion thought Freya made a valid point. But once they returned to the table, the delicious dishes in front of him no longer held any taste. His mind was filled with the image of ‘Luna’. At the same time, he felt relieved. Thank goodness he still had a chance to see her and to make amends. With this thought, he felt a glimmer of hope in his life. And his mood improved.
Orion picked up his fork and started eating. Freya glanced at him, curious about the waitress named Chelsea Ramirez he mentioned, but she didn’t have the time to focus on it too much. She still hadn’t found her own child. There was no time or energy to spare.
As the dinner ended, Maddox’s team bid farewell to Freya. The dinner had come to a successful close. Freya wanted to say something to Orion, but he had already left.
“Who are you looking for?” Elijah asked.
Freya withdrew her searching gaze and responded, “It’s nothing.”
Elijah clearly didn’t believe her, “Can’t I know too?”
