Sivin gained the upper hand and chuckled, “Don’t be angry. Although you look decent, your temper is terrible. Not many women would like that. Why don’t you change?”
Elijah stood up abruptly from his chair. His expression was filled with anger, as if he could kick Sivin right then and there.
Evan quickly intervened, “Mr Silverton is just provoking you. Stay calm.”
“Am I provoking you? You’ll have the answer when you see her.” Sivin said confidently.
Evan glared coldly at Sivin. “Just give us the address quickly. Stop with the useless talk. It won’t benefit you to say more!”
Seeing that the situation was getting tense, Sivin finally answered, “She will come to the country to attend a seminar.”
Just this sentence made Elijah and Evan start thinking. The Mede Research Center held seminars every year, but they had always been in the West. This year was the first time it was being held in Country Z.
“She’s at Mede?” Evan asked.
Elijah seemed to have realized something as well.
Sivin nodded, “Yes.”
Evan was shocked. They were in Country M before, and they even had contact with the major shareholder behind Mede. Yet they had no idea that Freya was there.
“She used the name Jane in Country M.”
Upon hearing this name, Evan widened his eyes.
“What the hell are you saying? She used the name Jane?”
That incredibly ugly Dr Jane?
And it seemed like she was pregnant.
Could it be that she had another man?
Almost instinctively, Evan looked at Elijah’s expression.
As expected, Elijah’s face turned dark.
…
Airport.
HY Research Center was responsible for reception, providing the venue for the seminar, and arranging invitations and accommodations. There were dedicated receptionists for the foreign participants, ensuring their accommodation was taken care of. Freya checked into a hotel with the director and another research doctor.
“This is my contact information. If you need anything, feel free to give me a call.” The receptionist said, handing over her business card.
Freya took it and replied, “Thank you, we got it.”
“Alright then, you’ve just gotten off the plane, so you must be tired. Take some rest first,” the receptionist said.
Freya accompanied the director back to her room. The director sat down and said, “Jane, you should go and rest too.”
Freya nodded and said, “Alright, I’ll be next door. Call me if you need anything.”
The receptionist had already placed her luggage in the room. She walked back to her room, supporting her belly, and locked the door behind her. Then, she leaned against the door and let out a long sigh. Her tense mood finally relaxed a little at this moment. She lifted her skirt and took out the documents hidden in between the layers of her clothes.
In order to bring the research data back smoothly, Freya had concealed it in her clothes. As a pregnant woman, her clothes were loose-fitting and it couldn’t be seen at all. Moreover, the documents were in paper form, so they passed through security checks without any issues. It was fortunate that she kept them on her person. If she had put them in her luggage, the dean would have inspected their luggage under the pretext of “security.” They even inspected the director’s luggage.
Staring at the stack of documents in her hand, Freya contemplated and decided to find Sivin. He would surely be able to hand them over to the right person. Since she had been out of the country all this time, even if she had the documents, she had no way of giving them to someone who could truly utilize them. But Sivin was in Country Z and had been closely following this research. Although he had retired, his passion for medicine still burned. After making up her mind, she put the documents into her bag and walked out of the room.
The corridor was quiet. She walked to the elevator and went down to the lobby. With one hand holding her bag and the other supporting her belly, she walked out of the hotel.
Just outside the hotel, a car had just pulled up. Elijah had received the information from Sivin and immediately had it checked. It was confirmed that among the doctors dispatched by Mede to the country, there was indeed a Jane. He had played a crucial role in organizing this seminar in the country, so obtaining the hotel address where the Mede doctors were staying was a piece of cake.
“Mr Silverton, is that Dr Jane?” Evan saw a pregnant woman who looked similar to Jane.
She was wearing a mask, and although she didn’t have a hat on, her hair was loose and almost covered her entire face.
Elijah looked over.
