Deck’s voice was low and he glanced at the despairing Calista sitting on the ground as he spoke, “Sir, you are just unwilling to let go of Thorne because he is a descendant of the Silverton family, but he harmed Freya.”
Implicitly, he was telling Jack that Elijah would never let Thorne go. Moreover, they no longer had any leverage or confidence to confront Elijah.
“As long as Thorne’s bloodline continues, it’s not like it’s completely severed.” Deck said.
Jack instantly understood his meaning and looked at Calista. After a brief moment of thought, he said, “That could be a solution.”
To reassure Jack, Deck continued, “Colton’s lineage won’t be completely cut off. Even if something happens to Thorne, his father is still here. He may have trouble with his legs, but it’s not like he has kidney failure.”
Jack’s eyes, filled with wrinkles, twitched. “You’re incorrigible.”
Deck supported him and said, “So, do you think what I said makes sense?”
Upon careful consideration, Jack realized that Deck had a point. Even if Jack lost his grandson, his son was still alive. Although Elijah held everything in the Silverton family in his hands now, it was not like they were destitute. They still had a considerable amount of wealth in their hands, which could bring them prosperity and luxury. Finding a woman for Colton wouldn’t be a difficult task either. Money could make miracles happen. If things really didn’t work out on Thorne’s side, then he would have to let it go.
“Grandpa, what should we do?” Calista rushed over and grabbed Jack’s clothes. “Grandpa, you have to save Thorne.”
Jack and Deck exchanged a glance.
Deck spoke first, “You saw it too, Elijah doesn’t give anyone face, and we can’t do anything about it.”
Calista felt hopeless. “Are we just going to let Thorne be imprisoned like this? He’s still so young…”
Jack didn’t have time to listen to Calista’s sobbing. He originally wanted Deck to speak up, but Deck was being too long-winded, so he said directly, “If you care about him so much, then, are you willing to have his child and carry on his lineage?”
Calista froze; she was confused.
“Grandpa, shouldn’t we be thinking of ways to save him at this time?” Calista didn’t understand why he suddenly brought up carrying on the family line.
Jack continued bluntly, “We can’t save him, but if you go in, you should be able to…”
“You… what do you mean?” Calista looked at him with watery eyes. She seemed to understand a little, and she was incredulous.
“It means that you go in, get pregnant with his child, and then I’ll get you out.”
Calista slumped to the ground.
“You mean, we’re not saving him?”
Jack let out a long sigh. This was the only thing he could do for him.
“If you don’t agree, then forget it. This kind of thing can’t be forced.” After saying that, Jack turned to Deck. “Deck, let’s go.”
“Wait.” Calista wiped away her tears. “I agree.”
Her answer was completely within Jack’s expectations. She loved Thorne too much and would definitely be willing to sacrifice herself.
Jack said, “Deck, you handle this matter.”
Deck replied, “Yes.”

Country M.
Freya went to see the director, holding the research results of the artificial heart project she had been working on at the institute. This conference was mainly for the discussion and exchange of ideas on artificial hearts.
Everyone in the field knew that Mede stood at the top of the pyramid in this area. The stack of data in her hands was the result of her research. In her heart, she thought that once these things were shared in the country, there would be a significant breakthrough in the field of artificial heart research. Freya was full of anticipation but also a hint of unease.
She raised her hand to knock on the door. Just as her hand was about to touch the door panel, she heard voices from inside. The conversation inside reached her ears, and her face gradually darkened.
