Chapter 349 Voluntary

Sacha wasn’t sure if she was heavily intoxicated or if it was because she felt suffocated after learning about her true identity, with no outlet for her emotions. But regardless, she didn’t back down. Evan was struggling to breathe due to her grasp, but he was sober and hesitated before taking further action.
“Is this what you want?” Evan’s eyes were slightly red.
Sacha had torn his clothes apart. Sacha, whether she heard clearly or due to discomfort from the alcohol, buried her face in his chest and mumbled incoherently. It sounded like an affirmative answer. Her response undoubtedly added fuel to this ambiguous situation. Evan no longer hesitated and pushed her down.

An hour later, Evan hurriedly put on his clothes and walked out quickly. He only had ten minutes left before the departure time. Even though he had been speeding the whole way, he was still late. He rushed into the cabin, and Elijah was already there, showing signs of impatience.
Evan quickly explained, “I got held up with something…”
Elijah glanced up, noticing the untidy collar and the fresh, distinct marks on Evan’s neck that he hadn’t bothered to conceal. Anyone with experience would know how those marks were made. Elijah calmly averted his gaze.
“When did this happen?”
“Huh?” Evan blinked, not understanding what Elijah meant. After a while, he seemed to have a vague understanding and adjusted his collar. “… It didn’t happen.”
Even he was surprised. If Sacha was truly Elijah’s half-sister, he wouldn’t have acted so recklessly. In the end, he didn’t consider the consequences, which led to what had happened. At most, it could be considered a one-night stand. Perhaps men understand men, as Elijah remained silent, allowing the pilot to prepare for takeoff.
Once Elijah returned to his residence, he found Kai playing in the living room. The furniture had protective plastic covers on the edges to prevent Kai from getting hurt while learning to walk. Kai stood barefoot on the floor, playing with a toy dog in his hands, mumbling, “Papa… Papa…”
Elijah stood at the doorway, hearing his son calling him “Papa.” His eyes deepened, and he quickly walked over.
“Kai.” He called out softly.
Kai turned around, dropping the toy dog in his hands and running towards him. “Papa…”
Kai was becoming more stable in his walking and didn’t need constant supervision anymore. He could say simple words now like “eat,” “sleep,” and so on. He grinned, revealing a row of pearly white teeth. His head rubbed against Elijah’s chest.
“You’re back.” Elowen heard the commotion and walked over. “I’ll prepare hot water for you to take a bath, and we’ll have dinner later.”
Elijah nodded lightly and asked, “Was Kai good while I was away?”
Elowen’s eyelids lowered. “He was a good boy.”
Sometimes, when Kai was sleeping, he would call out “Mama” in her arms. But she couldn’t respond since she didn’t want everyone feel uncomfortable.
Elijah seemed to sense this. “I bought a house in France. Once it’s renovated, we’ll move there.”
“Living abroad?” Elowen was surprised. She didn’t know French, and she would surely have difficulty adapting to the new environment.
“There will be servants there, and I’ll arrange everything. You’ll only need to take care of Kai.” Elijah said, believing that no one could care for Kai as well as Elowen. This way, he could focus on work and be assured that Kai was taken care of at home. And the company’s headquarters were located there, so he wouldn’t have to constantly fly back and forth.
“I’ll follow your arrangements.” Elowen said, even though she didn’t want to go abroad. But in order to take care of her only grandson, she would overcome the language barrier.
Elijah went to the bathroom to take a shower, washing away his exhaustion with the hot water. The bathrobe hung loosely on his body, with water droplets lingering on his exposed skin. As he dried his hair, he walked over to the bed, where his clothes were neatly placed.
Soon, his phone vibrated, and he picked it up. There was an unfamiliar number with no name attached on the screen.
He clicked on it and saw a message.
[Freya is still alive. I know where she is.]
