Edward Ford’s words were endlessly threatening, but Elena Bush acted as if she had heard nothing, with a light smile on her face the whole time, in preference to the other looks he hated to scratch and force her to show!
It was as if she treated him like a stranger, and the look in her eyes was so unfamiliar that it made him extraordinarily unhappy.
“Elena!” he bellowed angrily, “don’t you understand the pros and cons of this now?”
Elena Bush finally looked up from tending to Logan Brown, “And what, may I ask Mr Ford, have you done? And how has it threatened me and Logan Brown?”
“That’s because I haven’t thought about what I’m going to do to you!” Edward Ford said confidently.
Elena Bush just laughed, not sure if it was at his arrogance or naivety, “Did Mr Ford come over here today specifically to try and sit in Logan Brown’s seat?”
Edward Ford chuckled, one hand brushing the armrest, “If I wanted to, within half a month’s time, this position would be mine!”
“Then Mr Ford should think carefully, this position …… is going to be harder to sit in than even the average person’s, save it from being bad if you plant your head.” The latter smiled and was not afraid.
Edward Ford’s face flickered with gloom, “You mean, you’re not on my side?”
“Yes.” She answered without hesitation, “I am the one who is going to be with him for the rest of my life, even if you claim to be my real father so what? You’re not the one I’m going to spend the rest of my life with, and I deserve to be on his side as well.”
And furthermore, not to mention the fact that there had never been any semblance of father-daughter love between them!
“Elena Bush!” said Edward Ford, slapping the armrest and standing up in front of her, “Don’t you forget that your name is Ford and you are my daughter!”
“Oh?”
Elena Bush raised her eyes indifferently and put down her chopsticks, “But didn’t Mr. Ford call me by my first name just now? My name is Elena Bush and I have nothing to do with the Fords ……, so what’s with the surname Ford?”
“You!”
Edward Ford was half pissed off at her every time, but there is nothing to be done about it every time.
In front of him was a face identical to Joanna Lake’s, and he could not afford to be angry.
Edward Ford looked over at Logan Brown, who had been silent for a long time, and saw that the man’s cold air was so overwhelming that he was unconsciously wary.
The man gave him a careless look and snorted, “Mr Ford has arrived at KL without an appointment, interrupting our meal as a couple, which makes me wonder what you’re doing here today?”
A demonstration?
A provocation?
But all this had never crossed his mind, and even in his eyes, the man before him was just jumping up and down like a monkey in a circus.
“Hmph, you can only be arrogant and smug now, my words fall here, no matter what, I only have one word!”
“Go ahead.”
“By the end of the month, I want you to deliver Elena to me personally, if not, the Brown Group will be waiting for all these years to be ruined!”
His words were as deep as ice, and they made the hearts of those present flinch.
I won’t go with you, not even if you destroy the Brown Group, not even if you destroy KL.
Edward Ford didn’t take her words to heart, simply dismissing her reaction as a moment of rebellion.
“Elena, you’ll understand later, you haven’t experienced anything yet, you haven’t experienced the pain of loss, and you don’t know who is most important to you, which is why you can say this so easily.”
But he would have made it clear to her that he was where she belonged, that she could go anywhere when she was capricious, but that when she was done, she would have to go home. ……
Elena Bush only felt the sting of his crowning words, “That’s just a figment of your imagination!”
“Elena, I’m the closest thing you have to someone, so I won’t take anything you say seriously and I won’t blame you.” Edward Ford looked at her lovingly, the light revealed in his eyes sending chills down one’s spine.
Elena Bush looked away, unable to communicate with him properly.
Logan Brown suddenly rose, his long body half a head taller than Edward Ford’s, and for a moment overpowered him.
The man’s eyes glowed with a cold, dark light as he met his appearance, “Mr. Ford, this is KL, my office, Logan Brown, if you want to keep talking nonsense here, go ahead. It’s just that my VP has contacted security, I’m afraid Mr Ford would be embarrassed.”
At that, almost subconsciously, Edward Ford immediately looked at Jacob.
Jacob stood there, unmoved, as if he had nothing to do with any of this.
Seeing this, Edward Ford glared at his useless assistant and snarled, “Rubbish! You’re standing right here, didn’t you see when he contacted the security!”
Anyone with a brain would have known to stop it, but he was just standing there like a log!
The assistant looked around innocently, “I, I don’t know ……”
He had seen Jacob answer the phone, but it seemed that someone else had contacted him, so he didn’t know when he had dialed the phone, so it was no wonder he ……
“Stupid!” Edward Ford yelled again.
Elena Bush’s bright eyes glowed with a twinkle, but also with a smile, “What is Mr Ford doing here blaming his assistant? Didn’t you notice it yourself just now?”
The assistant smiled gratefully at Elena Bush’s words.
Elena Bush smiled, and the interaction between the two almost looked like a conspiracy to Edward Ford, who nearly lost his temper.
Edward Ford shook off his anger, “Logan Brown, listen to me carefully, I only give you ten days to think it over, I want a satisfactory answer by the end of the month, or else …… ”
His eyes fell on Elena Bush with a touch of devastating determination.
Elena Bush was shaken and subconsciously looked away from the meal in front of her without saying a word.
Logan Brown’s face was subdued, “I’ll be waiting for Mr Ford’s good news then.” Then, his voice dropped a little, “Jacob, send him away!”
“No need!”
Edward Ford snorted coldly, “I still know my way around just this bit!”
