Claudia Garcia spoke to Elena Bush on the phone before she left and was glad to learn of her relief and, inexplicably, wanted to see the person who had indulged her.
As her mind wandered, she already got up and called out to Mia, “Mia, please take my bag down for me.”
Almost as a first reaction, Mia immediately trotted up to her with a nervous look, “Madam, where are you going?”
“To find Logan Brown.” She didn’t hide it, a big smile spreading across her little face.
Mia hesitated for a moment and nodded delightedly, “Good, then I also happen to have asked you to bring some dinner for Sir and to make some soup, so you can just as well eat at the office without having to go out.”
“Okay, thanks.”
Mia was very quick, and in no time at all she had made all the arrangements, not forgetting to go out and instruct the driver to make sure that Elena Bush was taken to the office.
Elena Bush looked at her with worry and was filled with a sense of helplessness.
“Mia, I’m just going to the office, where do you think I’m going?” Besides, she was worrying too much, she wasn’t a child anymore.
Mia sighed and said, “Look at you kid.”
Elena Bush arched her eyes and gave her a hug before getting into the car, and Mia joked through a window, “Madam, I’m sure Monsieur would be delighted to see you like this.”
Elena Bush snapped her eyes back, not daring to stay with Mia any longer, and waved her hand as she urged the driver to drive on.
Inside the office on the top floor of the KL building, Jacob’s face looked very bad when he walked into the office.
The man at the desk was sitting at attention, and when he heard the movement, he stared up, and when he saw the ugly look on Jacob’s face, his face went cold too, “Another package?”
“Yes, this is the sixth time.” Jacob ducked his head, a little afraid to face him.
Logan Brown’s upright frame leaned back with a majesty that was impossible to ignore.
“Sixth time ……,” the man savored the implications, “all black cats?”
Jacob nodded, “Yes.”
“What the hell is this guy trying to do, just drop off a delivery knowing full well we’ll intercept it, so what’s the implication of that?”
“I don’t know.” Jacob shook his head, “All I know is that this person was smart enough, at least, to avoid all the cameras to get to the gate to deliver the item, and then smart enough to give the delivery to someone else to deliver it afterwards.”
“Investigate everyone familiar around Elena, anyone you know, or who has been in or out of the villa, thoroughly!” Logan Brown said in a cold voice.
The thought of the prisoner who couldn’t be caught made a lot of waves in his mind.
If he couldn’t catch him, he was constantly threatening Elena Bush’s safety and he had to be on guard.
Jacob responded, “I’ll do as I’m told, don’t worry sir.”
The man nodded, and then seemed to look up abruptly at the sound of movement.
The next moment, a familiar figure crashed into his field of vision, Elena Bush standing there with a thermos in her hand, shaking her hand and grinning at the two men.
But when he met the dismayed eyes of the two men in the room, Elena Bush couldn’t help but say, “Am I interrupting?”
“No.” Jacob was the first to speak back, “Sir and I have finished talking, so come in first madam.”
“So… ……”
Elena Bush nodded, rather relieved.
Logan Brown frowned and got up to take the thermos she was holding and helped her in to sit down, “Who let you out in the middle of summer? I thought I told you to stay home?”
“That was a promise last time, I didn’t promise today, and besides, I didn’t come empty-handed.”
She carefully shook the thermos in her hand, “I’m bringing you lunch and soup on Mia’s word, so don’t be insensitive!”
Looking at her, Logan Brown couldn’t be bothered to scold her, he just wanted her to stay with him, never to be separated again.
Elena Bush was about to open her meal when she suddenly paused and confirmed, “By the way, you should be ready to eat now ……, right?”
The man glanced up at his wristwatch and said, “Twelve noon sharp, madam is just in time.”
“That’s okay.” The little woman gave a quick sigh of relief.
Logan Brown smiled lowly, a softness in his brow.
But before they could move their chopsticks, Jacob, who had just left, knocked on the door again and came in, then glanced at Elena Bush and then at Logan Brown and said, “Edward Ford is here to see you.”
“Me?”
Logan Brown raised an eyebrow, “What’s he doing here for no reason? Today I remember his schedule was for a trip to S City.”
“Not sure.”
Elena Bush hesitated for a moment, “Do I have to excuse myself then?”
“No need.” Logan Brown held her down, “You’re my woman, my wife, why should you recuse yourself?”
Plus, what he was coming over to do wasn’t even known.
Elena Bush, with a vague unease in her mind, took his hand back and guessed, “Could it be that he already knows about Claudia Garcia and so is coming to you right now?”
Logan Brown pondered for a moment and quickly dismissed the answer, “There’s no way we’ll know that soon yet.”
Said the man, his eyes falling on Jacob, “Go on, send him in, once you’ve met the man, you’ll naturally know what’s in this gourd.”
“Yes.”
Jacob sniffed, and that’s when he stepped back to let Edward Ford in with his men, who hadn’t expected Elena Bush to be here.
The two men looked at each other and Elena Bush stopped looking at him.
Edward Ford had a flash of despondency, “Elena, you really don’t treat me well as always.”
Elena Bush ignored his grief as her men continued to pick up their chopsticks and serve Logan Brown, “Instead of going to dinner at this hour, Mr Ford has come here, I wonder what you wants to do?”
“To see my future office, of course.” Edward Ford had a serious look on his face and sat calmly in Logan Brown’s place unable to help but sigh, “Elena, you say, what are you doing accompanying a man like that, everything he has is mine sooner or later, in that case, why don’t you come back with me sooner , so that I can leave him a KL.”
Elena Bush did not stop moving, and did not forget to open the soup for the man beside her and take a taste, “It’s still hot, drink the soup first.”
Edward Ford’s eyes were red with jealousy at the intimacy of the two men in front of him, like the way Joanna Lake was making advances on another man in front of him, and he blackened his face with a swish.
He gritted his teeth in hatred and said, “Elena, you’re really this obsessed! Even if it means costing him everything?”
