Chapter 330 I Miss You

Book:You Are My Mr Right Published:2024-6-4

Elijah’s prolonged insomnia and excessive medication usage had worsened his headaches. As soon as they got off the plane, Evan took him to the hospital. After an examination, it was confirmed that the headaches were caused by the medication. If he continued to overdose on the drugs, there could be other side effects. The doctor administered a sedative. Now he was in a deep sleep.
Evan called Xander in the hallway.
“He’s in the hospital room now. The doctor said he can’t continue taking medication, only physical assistance for sleep. But you know his temperament…”
Evan was alone and clueless, so he had to call Xander for advice. He stood by the window in the hallway, and Freya, wearing a white coat with a hat and a mask on her face, spoke fluent English, saying, “I need to conduct an examination on him.”
Evan told Xander, “Something has come up here, I’ll hang up now.” He walked over and looked at the female doctor. “Didn’t you already examine him?”
“I’m here to measure his sleep depth. Please don’t disturb me.” She said.
Evan nodded.
Taking advantage of her professional privileges, Freya smoothly entered the hospital room. This hospital was affiliated with Mede Heart Research Center. When Elijah was brought in, Freya had already seen him. However, he was assigned to another doctor. She had fought for the opportunity to treat him afterward. She wasn’t here to measure his sleep quality. The medication given by the doctor was enough to keep him asleep for a whole day and night without waking up. She made an excuse to come in, just wanting to see him.
Gently, she sat by the bedside. Seven months had passed. Time flew by, yet also seemed to drag on. Freya lowered her gaze, her curled lashes trembling, slowly becoming moist. She leaned over and pressed her face against his chest.
“I miss you.” Speaking to herself, she said, “I know you’re not a heartless person.”
Ronan said he wouldn’t get involved in the artificial heart situation, and she knew deep down that Ronan was intentionally trying to tarnish his reputation. A man who was willing to marry a woman he didn’t love for the sake of a child, and be a responsible husband to her, showed just how responsible he was.
“I don’t know why you developed insomnia, but I will do my best to treat you,” she said, getting up to tuck him in.
Reluctantly, yet having no choice, she had to leave. She was a doctor, and if she stayed inside for too long, it could raise suspicions with Evan, which would be troublesome. She stepped out. Evan immediately approached her. “How is he?”
“He’s in a deep sleep and will wake up in about 24 hours,” she replied.
Evan nodded and said, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Freya said. “It’s my duty.”
Freya went to work, finishing her shift early as she had a date today. With some time to spare before the scheduled appointment, she decided to visit a hair salon.

“Jane, your hair…” Jeff exclaimed in surprise.
Freya did it on purpose. She might have to come into contact with Elijah later, so she deliberately dyed her hair blonde and permed it, a complete contrast to her previous sleek black hairstyle.
“I wanted to change my look,” she handed the menu to Jeff. “Order whatever you want, it’s on me. Thank you for helping me out.”
Jeff smiled and said, “We’re both from Country Z, so it’s only right for us to do something for our country.” Leaning forward, he whispered to Freya, “Let me tell you, my girlfriend is from the Lofic family. Or I wouldn’t even have access to such explosive scandalous secrets.”
“Will your girlfriend get upset if she finds out you told someone?”
“She won’t find out.” Jeff shrugged. His gaze fell on Freya’s hair. “With this hairstyle, you almost look like a local from Country M. I suggest you wear colored contact lenses and do some makeup to match your new hairstyle.”
“Good idea,” Freya thought it would be a good way to hide her appearance. His suggestion was helpful to her.
“Your personality is reserved and calm, different from the passionate and outgoing women here. Your previous hairstyle suited you better and made you even more attractive. Although you have a scar on your face, it doesn’t affect your overall appearance.”
Freya smiled and asked, “Are you complimenting me?”
Jeff didn’t hold back, “Yes, but I misunderstood you before. I thought you… I’m sorry.”
Freya said it was okay.

24 hours later, Freya came to check on Elijah’s condition. Evan was half-lying on the couch, dozing off, only waking up when the door rang.
“Dr Jane.”
Freya nodded and asked, “He hasn’t woken up yet?”
“That’s correct.”
Freya leaned in to examine, gently lifting his eyelids to see if there were any signs of awakening. Sleeping for too long wasn’t good. Considering his chronic insomnia, they had let him sleep for 24 hours. The pupil constriction…
Freya took a step back in shock.
Elijah abruptly sat up, his eyes devoid of the grogginess of just waking up, replaced instead with sharpness, wariness, and aggression. “Who are you?”
