GABRIEL
Catriona’s gaze filled me with fear, causing my heart to pound relentlessly. Her silence alone is already destroying me. Naturally, no woman would look at you the same way after learning that you have killed someone.
I took a step forward and reached out to touch her, but she quickly backed away, saying,
“Please don’t touch me. Whatever you want to say, just say it from there. Don’t come any closer.” Her lips trembled as she spoke.
A feeling of unease crept into my stomach, as if poisonous insects were devouring me from the inside. It was then that I realised it was time to tell her what happened to her. After all, she’s my mate, and she has all the right to know.
Pumpkin, I’m going to tell you everything, but not in this situation where you’re trembling. It’s really distressing me. Please sit down first. “I’m fine here, she said, cutting me off. I nodded, respecting her decision.

Due to my prolonged search for my mate as an alpha, l was deemed unfit for important meetings and events in the werewolf programs.
First of all, I possess a unique power that only Jayden knows about-the ability to trace a person no matter how far they are, even in the heaviest rain.
I found myself in a predicament. As an alpha, it was crucial for me to have a mate by my side, someone who could support me and complement my leadership. But finding my true mate had proven to be a challenge, and attending important events without one made me feel inadequate in the eyes of my pack and other packs.
It was during that time when my beta, a woman, came up with a rather unconventional idea. She suggested that we pretend to be mates, to save me from any potential embarrassment or inappropriate situations at the upcoming important event. At first, I was
hesitant, unsure of the consequences of such a charade. But she assured me that it would be beneficial for both of us.
Reluctantly, I agreed to her proposal. We began our fake relationship, attending pack
gatherings and events together, portraying a bond that wasn’t truly there. It Was challenging to maintain the facade, especially when I longed for a genuine connection with my true mate. Nevertheless, I trusted my beta and believed that she had my best interests at heart.
As the day of the important event approached, I couldn’t help out but feel a sense of unease. The event held significant importance for my pack and me that time, and I wanted to make a lasting impression. My beta, being my fake mate, had promised to support me and provide the necessary companionship during the gathering. Little did I know, she had ulterior motives. She had been planning to use my powers for her own gain. Unbeknownst to me, she had been secretly communicating with a rival pack, providing them with valuable information about our whereabouts and activities. Her intention was to betray my pack and deliver us into the hands of my enemies which she did.
Losing pack members because of someone I trusted was incredibly difficult for me to bear. I had to search wherever she ran to and she had to pay for it. And I have no remorse for my actions. Anyone who threatens my pack will face such consequences.
That’s one person. What about others? What did they do for you to kill them? Catriona asked, her fear still growing.
l used to be quite promiscuous, never shying away from engaging in casual encounters With women.
Whoever I brought into my bed, it seemed that whenever they left, the next thing I heard was news of their demise. This rumour spread throughout different packs, and I later discovered that these women were being used as alibis by my enemies.
I never fully trusted or respected women, but I would never kill them after using them unless they did something truly deserving of such a fate. However, this scandal not only tarnished my own reputation but also brought shame upon my pack. Everyone believed I killed those women and said I was being punished by the Moon Goddess for not having a mate. I believed it, but… then you came into my life. You appeared before me like a beacon of light.
I got up and ambled toward her until I stood in front of her. I noticed that she didn’t back away this time, which gave me hope.
“Listen to me, pumpkin,” I began. “l am a bad man. I have killed many people, but please understand that I had reasons for doing so. And I will continue to kill anyone who provokes me. I will continue to kill whoever threatens or harms you.”
Silence broke in between me and her and another thing I got was her slapping me. Her slap felt like a tingle on my cheek but the pain she conveyed with that slap sent a jolt of burning sparks in my stomach. Tears began flowing out her eyes.
I don’t wanna hear any more. I’m tired. You two men will be the death of me. If I don’t end this I will end up in rehabilitation.
Before I could process what she’s saying, she added.
“Let’s break up.” I’ll do the same with Jayden.” She said firmly.
As soon as those words escaped her lips, everything around me came to a standstill. It was the moment I had feared, and I feel lost on how to proceed. I knew this day would come, but I didn’t anticipate her making a swift decision. I thought if i told her she might want to think things over. But her words were
definitive, leaving no room for discussion or finding a middle ground. As the weight of her decision settled in, my mind began to race with a whirlwind of emotions. Confusion, sadness washed over me in waves.
I opened my mouth to reject her decision but when I looked into her eyes, I saw a resolve that I have never seen before. It was as if she had already made up her mind long before this moment.
As the silence hung heavy in the air, I mustered the strength to respond. I’m sorry pumpkin, for I’m selfish but I can’t accept your request. I’m never breaking up with you. I said, my voice trembling slightly.
Please, understand my situation. I may not be able to show it, but deep inside, I’m suffocating. I need a break from both of you. She said through unshed tears.
“Please, Gabriel.”
She whispered softly. The tenderness in her voice only added to the pain that was already spreading through my chest.
As silence descended upon us once more, an angry voice erupted from behind.
“There he is!”
I swiftly turned around just to see witches, led by an unfamiliar older woman. She strode through the water furiously. “Why is she so angry?” Catriona stammered. “Stay behind me,” I instructed, pulling her protectively behind me.
If it wasn’t for you, my granddaughter wouldn’t be dying.” You’re the one who deserves to die. She yelled at me with great intensity. They all spat out their saliva at me, but Catriona stepped in front of me just in time to shield me from their attack.
Don’t hurt him” I know how to help her. Catriona yelled but it was too late. Their poisonous saliva had already come into contact with her skin.
