CATRIONA
I was nonplussed for a while at Pamela’s reactions.
What do you think you’re doing, Pamela? I asked. She stared at me like I’ve gone crazy. Why are you hugging Jayden like that? You know very well that he’s my man.
Sorry, do I know you?” She asked.
What! Are you playing with me? I asked. She smirked and looked up at Jayden and then at those handsome men and then back at me.
Why would I play with a person I don’t know.
Pamela, don’t act like you don’t know me because I caught you alluring my mate with your little charms. I yelled, feeling enraged. Everybody laughed so loud except those two men.
Catriona, stop here. Let’s have a minute. Jayden said, dragging me already, not letting me say another word.
Do you think she’s alright? I heard her say.
I felt the urge to leap on her and swat her head back to reality. Her attitude is exasperating me. The way everybody is looking at me makes me feel like a bad guy over something I didn’t do. Jayden came to a halt and gave me a side eye that made me more furious.
Are you trying to throw your guilt in my face? No, let’s save that for later- When did you start hugging Pamela in front of the pack, NAKED?
Did you drink something before coming down here? He asked. For God’s sake, Jayden, I’m going berserk here, and you’re changing the topic. I snapped.
I’m not. It’s just that I don’t get why you keep calling her Pamela. He said his tone so low. He raked his hair, looked in the direction we came from, and froze. His expression was a mixture of confusion and happiness.
She’s not Pamela. She’s luciana.
I watched him saying the name luciana with so much care, like if his not careful with it, it might fall and break.
Hey there.
I closed my eyes, feeling like exploding at her now annoying voice. What is she doing here. Can’t she see we talking. I ranted loudly.
The you guys left wasn’t good, so I decided to come check on you guys. As I expected, the situation doesn’t look great.
Is she alright? She walking to us, followed by those men I think might be her guards or whatever they’re, along with pack members. What a lovely morning I have after a great night. My lips saucered when she walked past me, her long hair blooming in the air with wind and intertwined her hands in Jayden’s. I looked down at their twined hands and up at Jayden’s face. He looks so fine. If this is another dream of those old men playing with my mind, please be so ’cause I can’t deal with it anyway.
“Jayden, why aren’t you prying her?” “I’m your mate. ”
Mate…! Did I hear right…?
What are you talking about, woman?
Are you out of your mind?
Where on earth did you hear that humans mate with werewolves? She said amusingly like I was a joke. What’s so funny? I asked, my tears so close from dropping.
Didn’t you hear yourself. Who lied to you that wolves mate with humans. If you thought so, allow me to tell you that it never happens in this world of supernaturals. If you saw something like that, it means that humans you saw and thought is a mate to that Alpha was just a mere breeder or a favourite sex slave to that alpha. Other than that, it’s nothing.
Why are you doing this to me, Pamela? What have I done to you? Did you trigger Jayden’s mind with your magic?
Now that’s enough lady– First of all, I am not Pamela. I’m called Luciana. Secondly, this man here is my mate and my fiance. I looked up at Jayden for answers, but he just stood there watching Pamela insult me in front of his people. Each pack member that came over wowed and smiled.
“It’s really luciana. OMG…it’s unbelievable.”
Those were murmures from pack members. I scratched my head deep to the scalp and pulled my hair so hard to see whether I was dreaming, but it wasn’t a dream because I felt the pain. I screamed out frustrated. Pamela drew close to me with a worried face. Whatever tension she has, im not buting it. I slapped her straight in the face, making everyone gasp.
She gave me a deadly look that got me frightened. It made me believe that I was surely losing my mind. The slap I gave her made me see three different faces of Luciana’s, Pamela’s, and one of the women I don’t know.
Do you have a death wish woman? She said, teeth gritted. She laid her hand to slap me, but Jayden clasped it before it landed on my cheek. He shook his head “NO” at her before taking her without looking at me. I wanted to remain strong for what I saw, but I felt myself tumbling to the ground, tears flowing down.
I dont how sandra got to me, but I heard her presence. Sandra, please prove me wrong.
I’m all ears. She said.
Prove me wrong that woman isn’t Pamela. Catriona, you’re okay? She asked, her tone low full of concern. I’m sick of that question. Of course I’m fine. Just answer what I asked. She frog sat looking in the woods.
There was a long pause.
That’s luciana. Alpha’s recent mate. She’s the woman Alpha’s ever loved with all his whole. She cleared her throat, giving me a side eye. I mean, before Alpha met you. She always made him laugh out loud. We all loved and sherished her. She always made difficult things look so easy. It wasn’t long when she left the house and never came back. No one Kew what happened bit what we heard was her brutal death. That was the day darkness erupted the pack house. She paused, giving a side eye again… of course not until you came into his life.
I heard enough. Thank you. I got up and headed back in the house to get my phone and wallet. If I stay here for another minute, I’ll collapse to death.
The entire way to the room for my phone, I didn’t see him and wondered where they were. Only god knows where they might be. Or maybe they’re making a wolf-witch baby.
Dazzled by wrath and betrayal by the man I love, I bumped into Lauren. I’m a real mess right now, but she’s worse. When it comes to Lauren, the look she throws me sends me straight to hell. Ignoring the hate she has toward me, I opened my mouth to ask how she’s, and she silenced me in absolute fits of pique.
Watch where you’re going. With that, she left with the twins on both her sides.
I looked up at this mansion’s high ceiling and exhaled. I won’t let Lauren’s hate add to my problems. As I made the last steps out, Sandra invaded in my way.
Catriona, you know I like you, right. It doesn’t matter whether Luciana is back from the dead or not, I’m on your side and always will be. So is the pack.
I’d believed her but then ruined it when she mentioned the pack being on my side. I’ve seen everybody’s smiley faces earlier like they’ve seen God.
“Miss Olivier, I’ll be away for some days. Will you guys be fine without me. ”
Miss Olivier: Everything okay, child?
Me: Not now but will be. Just need to be alone for some time.
Miss Olivier: Alright, child, just be safe.
I closed my phone and turned to sandra-
Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine and will be back before dusk. And for your alpha, worry less cause he’s not in the state to ask you about am well being. I said to her, and I marched toward the woods.
As I walked through, I recalled being in this exact woods in the familiar situation roaming through it scared. I don’t remember the times I tripped trying to find a way out of it for my life.
I made it through the woods, but as I came in the clear, I felt like I’m being watched. The instinct was so strong that I got goosebumps all over my arms, but when I looked in every direction, I saw nothing. I squatted down, waiting for my taxi, but then the breaking snaps made me jump straight on my feet. When I looked across the road where the sound came from, I froze. It’s a black wolf. It’s so big and staring back at me wagging its tail.
