I stumbled backwards in horror. I have never seen something like this in my entire life. It’s not just a wild animal but a big wolf that is three-four times my size. It trotted toward my direction and I started screaming out loud.
Catriona, stop screaming. I heard Jayden’s voice again in my head. “What’s happening, I’m i losing my mind? I closed my eyes thinking that I might be having a bad dream that looks like a reality, that when I open my eyes I’ll be awake. Please God, let whatever I just saw now be my hallucinations. I opened my eyes and gasped again when I saw Jayden standing before me unclad.
Cateiona, please calm down, don’t panic, Okey? He said.
Don’t move another step. Don’t come near me. I spluttered. You’re unclad, Why are you even like that when I saw you were fully dressed? Wait a minute, I saw you turning into something that looked like a wild animal or wolf. Are you guys shifters? I asked him because I know this kind of stuff is in novels and movies. If this is a dream, I’d like to wake up as soon as possible, because no such thing exists in real life. That kind of stuff (shifters) are in movies. I’m a twilight fan and I’ve watched all the seasons but I never once believed and still don’t believe that shifters known as werewolves and vampires exist.
I tried to run away from this place before I became their meal. Did he hire me to become their meat? If he’s a shifter that means he knows that I’m human, then why did he hire a human like me to be his surrogate? No… Did his kind want a pregnant human for their sacrifice? That has to be the truth, because he didn’t show up in the hospital when i had a miscarriage, and today he tried to rape me. I’m so stupid to think that maybe there must have been a chemistry between me and him. There is a saying that says that a wolf and a human are not best friends, so if he’s a wild wolf then I have to run away as far from them. Someone grabbed my hand before I even made a move and dragged me toward the house. He’s a strong man compared to me.
I don’t know where I got the energy but I felt it surging through my body because I jolted his hand that was so firm and ran toward the house myself. My plan is to go into my room, lock myself in and find a way of escaping.
As soon as I entered the house, Sandra, godmother, and the others were standing everywhere filling the space, eyeing me curiously.
Catriona, I want you to listen to me. Sandra says. There’s nothing I’m going to listen to any of you. I yelled in fear. I walked swiftly over to the open elevator but I was grabbed again from behind before I sat my foot in. I screamed loudly that most of them clamped their ears.
Be careful with her, she’s pregnant. I heard god mother saying. I started fighting so that I could free myself from someone’s firm hold but it was not working.
She’s human but got some energy in her. Said the man who’d grabbed me by the shoulders from behind. Leave me the hell alone you wild animals. I shouted but didn’t know what happened because I felt weak and couldn’t open my mouth to shout. He carried me on his shoulder and carried me downstairs into the basement. They opened the door and entered. Some of them stayed outside the door. I was put down on the outmoded chair and leaned my head on a soft cushion. My ears and eyes were open but I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t lift my own hands and legs. It feels like I’m in a trance.
They all gathered, held hands and made a circle. I was in the middle of their circle scared. This is it, I’m going to die today. I’ll die happy that at least my brother’s life was saved. The door was opened and Jayden entered in the middle of the circle with two old women. I looked at him warily with tears in my eyes feeling betrayed by him.
He sat down on his haunches and looked straight in my eyes. I’m sorry Cariona but I have to do this. You’re always sorry. I said in my head. I have to do this for your own good. Is sacrificing me will be my own good? I asked him. We are not going to hurt you Catriona and we will never. He said. Stay still, it’s not going to hurt. We are just going to efface your memory. But before we do that , I’ll tell you the truth. I’m going to tell you who we are. He said.
My tears were just streaming down uncontrollable. Catriona, what you saw earlier is actually true, you were not hallucinating. We are werewolves. I was going to tell you everything after giving birth. I didn’t expect that you’ll find out soon, like this. We werewolves don’t divulge our true identities to the human world. We don’t harm them unless they harm us.
There are so many more supernatural creatures out there you don’t know about or you may have heard of. If i don’t erase your memory now they may use that advantage of you knowing about us and harm you. Or else kill you. Their target is me, as you said earlier. They’ll do all they can to get to me by using my mate, as those vampires did.
Those people who abducted you are not humans too, they’re one of the supernatural creatures that wants me dead. He said.
I was trembling so much, horrified that I even peed in my pants. I lowered my head down facing my thighs and closed my eyes in embarrassment and pain. “Mom”…. I called my mom hoping she’ll be the one to save me from this horror. I slowly opened my eyes when I felt the streams of urine running down my legs. Jayden averted his eyes from me and down to my legs. I closed my eyes again praying for the ground to swallow me.
“Everybody, out…. ‘NOW! He yelled at them and they immediately obeyed.
I…. Um… I’ll get someone to get you some clean clothes. He said. I shook my head in refusal. He stood up to leave but one of the old granny grabbed his hand. Alpha, we don’t have time, we need to do this now. The clothes will have to wait. The old granny said. Jayden looked hesitant but nodded his head in approval. Two grannies drew closer to me and stood in front of me. One granny crooked down and gazed directly into my pupils for a while. She quickly stood up and exchanged a nervous look with the other one.
I’m not doing it, she said with a trembling voice. You are a powerful witch, why can’t you do it? We don’t have to use so much energy on her. She’s only human. The other granny said and pushed her back next to me. She’s not un…. Stop baffling Vanessa. The other one raised her voice to her.
Vivian, don’t hurt her when doing the spell, she’s seven weeks pregnant. Jayden said to her. I’ll be careful Alpha. She replied.
Vanessa granny looked back into my eyes and said, please forgive me, i don’t intend to hurt her. Don’t punish me afterwards. She said all that while looking deep in my eyes. Vivian granny gave her a death glare. Vanessa, stop spewing nonsense and focus. Vivian granny said to her.
They intertwined their hands and started ranting something in a low voice. I started having a bad headache and sharp pains inside my belly. My head became heavier and heavier, and the last thing I saw was watching the three of them jerking away from me with stunned faces as they asked at the same time, “who are you?”
