“Any questions?” Lucy have her brows up, waiting for me to speak but I couldn’t find my words. I feel like I got things I wanted to clarify and it feels like I had piled up questions but I don’t know where to start. “Confuse phase, huh?” she concluded from my silence.
I nodded and looked back at the house, he’s not there where he was standing all day. I knew he was guarding me and maybe that’s to be sure I won’t escape but… now it feels like he was watching me the entire time.
“He…” I trailed off when I saw Elon’s face in my head again. Again, a pinching feeling in my chest was there. I feel hurt, pained that I lost him.
“Hey, hey, why are you crying?”
I sobbed louder as tears pooled down my eyes like falls. My mouth was open but I can’t hear any sounds coming out of it. I feel the choking feeling again, as if my neck was held by someone, trapping the sounds.
I wanted to scream Elon’s name. I want to call for him. Ask anyone to bring his back. Bring my life back.
Lucianna hugged me tight as my world seems to crumble down on me..
“Hush, now, Ash. This is just a fake effect. You didn’t lose your mate. You didn’t lose him.”
I can hear Luce and I wanted to ask what she meant but I feel like I was caged inside this longing lonely feeling. I have my child inside me but I’m not happy, I fear I might lose it, too. I might lose us both.
“Listen to me,” Lucy held my face in her palms, making me look at her through my blurry vision. The sobbing from me continues but it started to died down again. An episode, it seems. “Whatever you are feeling right now is not true. You hear me?”
I shook my head. “N-No…”
“No? No, Ashira. It’s not real. That bastard Elon was not your mate. Aiden. Aiden is your true mate. He is your mate, listen to me!”
My sobs grew louder as the pain in my heart increases.
She said Aiden was my mate and I wanted to be confuse but the huge part of my head was screaming Elon’s name.
“E-Elon. Elon.” I whispered between my cries.
“Fuck.” Lucianna stood up and started walking back and forth as I kept sulking on the bench. I embraced myself because I feel like I need to. I have to. I feel like I’m tearing apart more and more as the picture of Elon in my head has added.
His smile. His laugh. The way he look…
Why… does Elon have the same golden brown eyes?
My cries halted in a brief second. As if an off button was pressed inside me.
“I’ll wait until you feel better. You need to hear this.”
Lucy said something but I didn’t understand her. My mind was focused with one thing.
Elon’s golden brown eyes that looked at me with an abundant of love and affection. But it confuses me of why the emotion seen in my mate’s eyes are the same with what that rude Alpha has.
Lucianna’s POV
I walked inside the Ancestral and found Aiden’s scent at the kitchen so I headed straight to him. He was alone.
“It’s no good.” I said the moment his eyes looked at mine. “Every time I try and tell her about the truth or about you, she breaks down and cry.”
He looked back at the glass he was holding and played with it. I figured he won’t talk so I decided to continue.
“I think your name is the key to trigger her breakdowns. Or the thought of you as her mate. The physical connection between you two were not though. Maybe you can try to talk to her again tomorrow?”
He sighed. “That’s the plan.” he said as he tapped his head with two fingers. “You need not to say it.” then he sipped on his drink.
“Oh.” Well, he is the type who never gives up anyway. “Jake will be coming here tomorrow, I will ask him to let me stay a little bit longer-”
“He needs you, too. It’s okay if he wants you back to his pack,”
“He’ll understand. I don’t want to leave yet, anyway. Plus, he’s just visit for a bit.”
He nodded and I decided to excuse myself.
As I was walking out of the Ancestral, I took a quick glance on the garden where Ashira is.
I hope everything goes well tomorrow.
Aiden’s POV
*Slap!*
I don’t mind the sting I felt on my face but Ashira’s slap also struck my heart with an intolerable pain. I was stunned and unable to move from where I stood, even my face won’t tilt back and my eyes has feared seeing her current expression.
“You can’t fool me!”
Even her voice has a hint of pain in it that my chest felt heavy and clenched. I tried talking to her about the truth again today. She has rested and slept outdoors last night and I let her be, trying not to distract her.
I watched her sleep from far.
I waited for her to wake up, asked someone to bring her some food. She ate. A little. But she was still dozing off and now she is crying. Mad, angered, lonely, and hurt. That is all I could smell from her.
From her scent, I know she does not feel anything for me.
“You are not my mate. My mate is dead! You killed him!”
I hissed and tilted my head up as I screwed my eyes shut. I listened to her low, rough sobs and tried my best to keep my mouth shut.
Truth is what I tried to tell her and now she’s like this. If I try convincing her more, she might hate me more and I don’t want to add up what she already felt about me.
“Stop trying to manipulate me! Please! Leave me and my child alone!”
I slowly turned my head to look at her.
Is this the right decision? Should I just leave her alone and let her do what she want or think what she believes? Her face is wet because of her tears. She is still too gorgeous despite her distress aura and looks.
This gorgeous person seems so far away and yet she wanted to be further.
“I can’t.” I whispered.
She turned around and screamed inwardly before facing me again.
“You are so full of yourself! Can’t you see that I hate it here? I wanna go back to my old pack, to be in the place where I had memories with Elon! I don’t want to be here, I don’t want to stay here, I don’t want to be with you!”
Every phrase she said seems like an arrow piercing through my heart, making me bleed.
“If only you didn’t kill my mate!” she cried hard and I feel like I want the ground to eat me whole. She sat on the bench and tried suppressing her cries and she looked more pitiful that way.
“Your mate feels like dying now, baby.” I whispered. I don’t know if she heard me and I think she didn’t because I didn’t hear any response from what I said. Her sobs are drowning her and I feel invisible now in front of her.
