Chapter 24

The rain poured with a mad rage and thunder accompanied it with an equal measure. Kiona’s hands were raised to the sky and words of chants and spells left her mouth in a matching rhythm with the words of the sky. All the wolves of the Redmoon pack were in the middle of a revolution against their Alpha who was holding them hostages against the king’s order.
After surrounding the pack house with the green substance that activates her spell, the magic powder becomes a wolfsbane that prevents the wolves of the king from entering and the wolves of the Redmoon pack from leaving. It was chaos but the witch wasn’t bothered. Alpha Leonard remained in his office following her orders, the green powder was on his entrance also preventing the raging wolves from entering his office. Howard was doing his best to keep the wolves under control but it was hard when he also harbored the same intentions towards his Alpha and the witch who kept performing her spell without any border.
Another thunder resonated through the sky and the witch stumbled, blood poured out of her nose, but she didn’t stop until the green magic powder activated and became brighter, engulfing the whole pack land with its light. The war cries went down and all the wolves both old and the young pups covered their eyes, some saying their last prayers, some sobbing as they waited for what they thought to be their impending deaths.
But that never happened, the light faded and their memories of what happened in the last couple of weeks went with it. Only their Alpha’s memory remain intact, even Howard was affected. He lost every memory concerning his Alpha’s deeds and everything that happened to Diana.
The clouds disappeared and the rain stopped revealing a full bright moon, a new moon for all of them. The pack no longer exists physically in the real world. Kiona smiled brightly as she used her sleeves to wipe the blood off her face, she had used more than enough energy to make everyone forget everything and also to seal the entire pack to another dimension but she was happy that her mission had been completed.
Meanwhile, The king’s wolves also suffered slightly from memory loss. They couldn’t remember why they were there in the first place and they could only see a thick forest ahead instead of the usual gate of the Redmoon pack. An Auburn wolf with golden rings around its red eyes howled loudly at them to leave.
” Is that?” One of the soldiers asked after shifting to his human form.
” It’s Ayra, Cassie’s wraith wolf. It seems she is here to tell us to back off” Another wolf freshly shifted replied taking a step towards the wraith wolf. The wraith wolf howled again and disappeared into the direction it came From and the king’s wolves followed suit.
” Seeing a dead wolf spirit gives me chills”
” Why would Cassie send it here?” Another asked, his tone holding a reasonable amount of fear. but the first soldier only shrugged his shoulder as they followed the trail of the wolf quietly.
The Auburn wraith wolf was a dead wolf under the control of Dyrr and it must have come to lead them back to the palace. If they had taken another step further, they could have been trapped forever under the spell Kiona cast, once they stepped inside the thick bush, they would never return but they didn’t have an idea about this, only Dyrr knows.
…
Back at the Redmoon pack, the Alpha came out of his office with a proud smile on his face. His pack members were normal and ready to obey every one of his orders. Nobody had the nerve to disobey him again except one female, Honey. She had lost her wolf in the war and had lost her mind along with him so the spell had very little effect on her mind. He doesn’t seem to mind her, he had her labeled as a crazy one so other members wouldn’t take her seriously.
” Now I’m no longer under a stupid king. I’m an Alpha on my own” Leonard said proudly watching his pack members carry on as if nothing had happened.
” Congratulations Alpha but remember, Your sister must never remember his name. I cast a spell that will prevent her from hearing it from anyone but she can remember it herself” Kiona said weakly but with a serious tone beside him.
” How will she even remember? We are in another dimension and her wolf is no longer with her. Nobody will tell her anything except you who cast the spell so why do I need this warning?” He asked with his mouth curled into a deep smirk. Now he can live with his sister and lover however he wants and he would choose a mate he wants for her.
” Hmmm. I don’t know, maybe” Kiona tried to warn him but he waved two fingers in the air silencing her. He smiled fully with his hands placed behind him.
” We should celebrate, don’t ruin the mood witch,” He said before taking a step away from her. She sighed once more, he made to retreat but she stopped again.
” May I have the portrait now? I have fulfilled my part of the agreement, it’s time for yours” She demanded stretching out her hands, he turned around and gave her another smile, squinting his good eye before placing his right hand under his chin like he was thinking about something.
” Why do you want Decanal so much?” he asked but she rolled her eyes before responding ” I only asked you to honor your part of the agreement not trade secrets with you”
” You are scared of it, aren’t you? The big black powerful wolf you killed three hundred years ago coming back for revenge? You know you won’t survive its wrath this time around and you want to attack the halves separately before they find each other but can I tell you something?”
” What?! I didn’t ask for your lectures, the portrait now!” She snarled at him angrily. Flashes of Decanal’s last threat resonated in her mind.
” This Decanal here only carries the bloodlust and a tiny portion of its strength. Dyrr is the real deal, that wolf carries the vengeance, the Will, and all powers and abilities of the legendary Decanal, this one is hardly a threat to you. You didn’t even have a hard time taking the wolf down” Leonard ignored her expression and went ahead with his explanation emphasizing them with his hand gestures.
” I know. But Dyrr is not my business at the moment. Cassie can’t even shift yet so why should I worry about a non-existent enemy? The portrait” She stretched her hand again to demand for her prize.
” I burned it” He sighed and she gasped.
” Why will you burn it?!” She screeched, her eyes turned purple and they glowed dangerously.
” Anyhow, you wanted the wolf gone and I did that for you. Shouldn’t you be happy? Ah this is the thanks I get, not that you need the portrait for anything anyway”
Her eyes stopped glowing but they didn’t return to normal as she stared at him bewildered at his confessions. She opened her mouth and closed it many times, She studied his expression to see if he was lying but he had nothing out. She took a deep breath before forcing herself to speak.
” That is not possible! You can’t just burn the portrait!” She shouted.
” Well I did, I can show you the ashes” He lied through his teeth, he didn’t burn anything. He only deceived her so he could find another witch who could make it possible for him to have Decanal for himself. He wanted the power that comes with Decanal and that would only get wasted if he allowed the witch to destroy the wolf. He had the portrait hidden inside a storage room down the hall until he was able to find a witch capable of making the wolf his.
” Besides you said you don’t need it anyways”
But unknown to both the liar and the one getting deceived, Decanal’s consciousness remains all over the place. The wolf could roam every part of the pack house but could not communicate with anyone. She could only wait and watch until her master woke up. And the more the wolf waits, the more its anger grows.
” Maybe I will have to break my promise to Dyrr. I’m going to kill this bitch myself”
#Present day.
Diana gasped at what Decanal had just shown her, A peek at the past. Ever since she lost consciousness after being marked by Howard, Decanal had been showing the memories of what happened when the seal broke at the plain. Both of them had met at the point of her will, a place similar to Darryl’s dream plane. The wolf had penetrated it after trying so many times until it succeeded.
” I will never forgive my brother,” She said. Decanal chuckled and gave her a wolfy grin.
” I plan to kill him in the loveliest way possible”
” I believe killing and lovely don’t belong in the same sentence,” Diana said but the wolf only barked and rolled on its belly, like a dog asking for a belly rub. Diana complied and gave her her what she demanded. This cute behavior was meant for only Diana and her mate, other people would lose their heads before they could even come close.
” I am Decanal. Killing is the loveliest thing to me” licking its paw, the wolf replied to her. Diana shook her head, even though her memories were still missing the most important part like the name of her mate. She missed her wolf a lot.
” There’s somewhere else I need to take you” Getting up and stopping the cute display of affection abruptly, the wolf announced.
” Where?” Diana asked.
” We need to meet him”
