Chapter 754 Fear

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

Ayaan was soft and cute, with a handsome face that captivated Ewan. Ewan eagerly picked up Ayaan and said, “Let’s go play together!”
Ewan, with his youthful spirit, had prepared to swim. A water castle was already set up in the pool. Ayaan, wearing adorable little dinosaur swim trunks, jumped into the water agilely, scaring Ewan who shouted, “Ayaan!”
“Hahaha…” Ayaan popped out of the water, startling Ewan.
Ranita squatted down and grabbed her son, saying, “Ayaan, what are you doing? Can you stop scaring Grandpa like that?”
“I’m sorry!” Ayaan quickly admitted his mistake. “I didn’t mean to scare grandpa! But I can swim!”
Ewan was thrilled. “Wow! My grandson is a genius, swimming at such a young age!”
After exaggerated praise, Ewan applauded.
Ranita said impatiently, “Don’t spoil him!”
As she spoke, Ranita saw Robert approaching with flattery, bowing to Ewan. “Mr. Stuart, why didn’t you call me if you needed anything? These people are clumsy; don’t let them ruin your mood.”
After speaking, Robert glanced at Ranita sneakily.
Ranita’s eyes sharpened as she stared at Robert. “What are you looking at? Is there something on my face?”
Ranita chuckled softly, “By the way, I haven’t properly greeted you yet!” She paused, then her smile faded, and she looked coldly at Robert. “Robert, it’s nice to see you again.”
Robert was also cunning; Mr. Goodman had yet to find his fatal weakness.
“Miss Bowman, it’s been a long time. I’m glad to see you too,” Robert replied with a fake smile, but inside, he was in turmoil.
He hadn’t expected Ranita to have a chance to turn the tables after four years.
Robert felt uneasy, his fingers trembling behind his back. Ewan noticed and asked, puzzled, “Robert, why are your hands shaking? Did you strain yourself moving things earlier? Everything is set up now; you can leave first!”
“Okay, I’ll leave now,” Robert hastily packed up and left with his people.
Ranita hurried to catch up, saying, “Robert, wait, I have something to say to you.”
“What do you want to say?”
“Robert, you know perfectly well what I mean, don’t you? What you and Shannon did to me four years ago… I remember it very clearly.”
Ranita’s eyes were filled with turbulent waves, and her smile became extremely cold as she said, “Robert, now that I’m back, are you afraid?”
“Why else would your hands be shaking?”
Robert forced a smile and replied, “How could that be? I’m just tired from working at my age.”
“As for what Miss Bowman said, I don’t understand a word.”
Some people are really good at lying through their teeth.
Ranita was certainly not pleased, but arguing with a cunning man like Robert would only expose her emotions.
“Is that so? Robert, you’re right, you’re getting old and can’t remember things anymore.”
Ranita mocked, her lips curling into a faint smile. “But I remember. There’s karma, cause and effect. You’ll eventually reap what you sow.”
Robert’s face visibly changed, but he dared not refute, only nodded with a forced smile.
