Chapter 744 Fool

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

Seven years had passed. Ranita still remembered the initial nervousness and urgency. She approached him cautiously, holding an admiration in her heart.
Suddenly, Ranita felt like drinking.
Perhaps getting drunk would help her forget a bit more.
She grabbed a bottle of beer from the fridge, quietly opened it, and took a few sips. Just as she drank, the door creaked open slightly.
A tall figure stood at the door, tilting his head slightly to look at her. “Are you drinking?”
“No… cough… cough…” Ranita choked, then belched at an inappropriate time!
The smell of beer filled the room, leaving no need for explanations.
Before Ranita could explain, the man gently pushed the door open and walked in. He was dressed in beige home clothes, simple in style but worn in a way that exuded luxury.
They say clothes make the man, and Brendon had the knack for making even simple clothes look expensive.
“Don’t come any closer!” Ranita wanted to stop him, but it was obviously too late. The man took a few long steps and approached her, his eyes fixed on her.
“Do you usually drink beer at home? I remember you didn’t like it before…”
“People change,” Ranita replied with lowered lashes. Her cheeks were flushed from the events of the dream, but luckily the alcohol smell masked it, and Brendon didn’t notice.
“You should leave.”
Brendon gave her a deep look, about to turn away, when he noticed a wallet and a photo with a bright red background on the table out of the corner of his eye.
Following his gaze, Ranita immediately reached out, grabbed the photo, and hid it behind her. “You should leave now.”
“I saw it,” the man reached out.
“Saw what? My things are mine, why should I give them to you!” Ranita retorted, but just as she finished, another burp escaped, prompting her to cover her mouth hastily.
How embarrassing!
In front of Brendon, Ranita still felt a bit uneasy. She regretted why she had started drinking beer.
Impulsiveness was the devil.
“Let me see,” Brendon approached, his aura overwhelming, making Ranita feel a bit weak in the knees.
Backing away, Ranita said, “I told you, it’s nothing.”
The man chuckled softly, “I saw it all.”
“So what if you saw it? What’s in my hand is mine… don’t come any closer…” Ranita barely finished speaking when her heels hit the bed with a thud.
It hurt so much tears almost burst out of her eyes.
“Careful!” Brendon reached out to help her, “So clumsy.”
“It’s all because of you!” After being helped to sit down, Ranita complained, looking at Brendon, “It hurts so much.”
But as soon as she said that, she accidentally knocked over the beer on the table, splashing it onto his feet.
“Sorry! I didn’t mean to!” Ranita bit her lip, hurriedly bending down to pick up the bottle. However, in her haste, she hit her forehead on the edge of the table with a bang.
Two hits in a row!
Tears welled up in Ranita’s eyes.
“So painful!” Unable to bear it, Ranita exclaimed.
Just as the pain in her heel hadn’t subsided, she hit her forehead again. She was really unlucky today!
Brendon couldn’t help but laugh softly at her silly appearance. “How can you be so clumsy!”
Being laughed at, Ranita was furious.
“You’re the clumsy one!” Ranita regretted deeply. She shouldn’t have let him into her house; otherwise, she wouldn’t be so unlucky.
