“Mr. Cole, the car I received from Olivia two years ago was brand new, and you’ve been driving it for these two years, right?” Francisco’s face turned extremely unpleasant.
He clenched his fists, feeling embarrassed to be pinpointed at and in front of Ranita. Francisco felt terribly ashamed!
Francisco’s face turned ashen. “Olivia, no one is making a fuss about everything like you!”
“That’s right! It was you who gave it to our Francisco. Now you’re using it against us. Haven’t you used this car? When you go out, isn’t it Francisco who drives you? You even have a chauffeur…”
Mrs. Cole muddled the waters, avoiding any mention of her son’s affairs.
Some people couldn’t bear it and sarcastically retorted, “Madam, by your logic, your son is also making a fuss, isn’t he? Both sides contributed money, and it seems like the girl contributed more. Your family even profited!”
“I may have other faults, but I’m fair. A small apartment in this small town costs five to six hundred thousand. Your annual income is just over a million for two years, yet you drive a good car and dress nicely. Isn’t this money contributed by the girl?”
Being ridiculed by strangers, Francisco couldn’t maintain his dignity.
But when he thought about the promised benefits… Francisco still forced himself to say, “Olivia, I won’t take away the things you bought, and I’ll return the car to you. But you know the situation at my home, three hundred thousand…”
“Francisco, you…” Olivia truly saw Francisco’s true colors. At this point, he was still thinking about three hundred thousand.
“Yes, let’s not talk about other things. Anyway, the agreed three hundred thousand must be given.” Mrs. Cole wanted to push the boundaries, but she wasn’t stupid.
“You’re in a relationship with Francisco now, so everything he has is yours. Your money is his, especially since you spent it together. Is it meaningful to bring it up now?”
Clearly, it was Mrs. Cole and Francisco who insisted on being aggressive, bringing it up, and being calculating. Yet, in the end, they pinned the blame on Olivia.
If Olivia weren’t lying down unable to move, she would have already rushed over to pull Mrs. Cole’s hair.
Seeing her eyes red, Ranita comforted her, saying, “It’s okay, don’t worry.”
“Madam, Francisco, three hundred thousand isn’t a big deal, but I can’t let Olivia suffer, right? Listening to her, Francisco has been supported by her for these two years.”
“If you insist on this money, it’s not impossible, we can call the police and let them judge right from wrong.”
“It’s a rule of law society now. Every penny given has a record, and the source can always be traced. Who owes whom will be clear at a glance.”
Ranita’s eyes were cold, her voice very light but full of warning and threat. “Once this account is settled, don’t try to back out later!”
“Call the police?” Mrs. Cole, this kind of person, bullies the weak and fears the strong, fearing the police and judges the most.
Francisco frowned, his face dark, “Do we really need to resort to calling the police?”
He had a greatly diminished impression of Ranita in his heart. He thought Ranita was beautiful, but she was too ruthless. A minor issue and she wanted to involve the police. And he knew Ranita was wealthy. It’s just three hundred thousand, right? Can’t she even spend that little money?
“I think calling the police is the best solution.” Ranita looked at Mrs. Cole with a smile that wasn’t a smile, “What do you think, ma’am?”
“I…” Mrs. Cole rolled her eyes and started sitting on the ground, playing the victim, loudly shouting, “Heaven, bullying an old lady, bullying us, a mother and son without money or power, isn’t this unreasonable?”
