“Ms. Bowman, young people shouldn’t be so impulsive in their words,” Lena seemed unfazed, her tone light and casual. “Think about it. Aren’t you guilty for bringing trouble to your friend?”
“Although I’ve been out of the entertainment industry for a long time, I still have some connections. There are plenty of ways to ruin a female celebrity.”
“I hope you can carefully consider my suggestion. I look forward to hearing good news from you!”
Ranita knew that reasoning was impossible at this point.
She hung up on Lena directly and called Marlon to see if there was any way to help Eve. Marlon was reliable when it came to legal matters.
Marlon promised to help gather evidence and also offered his own suggestion, “Ms. Bowman, perhaps you can seek Mr. Webster’s assistance.”
Being reminded, Ranita suddenly remembered that Chris indeed owned an entertainment company. It wasn’t just Chris; Brendon also had several investment companies associated with the entertainment industry.
“Let’s not bother Chris with this matter,” Ranita furrowed her brows. “Or maybe I should buy an entertainment company myself?”
Ranita wasn’t just making empty claims. With the inheritance she received and her successful investments, she earned a considerable amount every year. Buying an entertainment company was within her means.
“Mr. Goodman, please contact someone and help me acquire Starmaking Entertainment,” Ranita felt more and more confident about this idea.
Marlon didn’t see any issues with it either. Ranita had the money to buy an entertainment company, after all.
“Alright, I’ll make the call and get it done,” Marlon agreed. After a pause, he added, “I’ll also contact Miss Riley and her agent to see how we can handle this.”
Ranita wanted to say a few more things, but a nurse hurriedly ran over, “The family member of patient in Room 12, you need to go back and see what’s happening. There’s a commotion in the ward!”
Olivia?
Ranita hurriedly rushed back, and even before entering the room, she heard a sharp voice of anger from inside, “Olivia, how shameless can you be? You’re going to marry my son, yet you shamelessly cling to another man!”
“Olivia, do you really not care about our Francisco?”
Ranita furrowed her brows and quickly dispersed the onlookers, then pushed the door open and closed it tightly behind her.
Olivia had injured her bones and couldn’t move, her eyes were red from being scolded, and her face was pale. Her fiancé, Francisco, had his head lowered, not daring to utter a word.
“What’s going on?”
“Ranita…” Olivia’s eyes lit up when she saw Ranita return, as if she found her pillar of support. “I told you about Francisco and his mother, Saniyah.”
“Hello, both of you.” Ranita nodded, “This is a hospital room. If you have something to discuss, please keep your voices down and don’t disturb others.”
“And who are you?” The middle-aged woman’s face turned sour as she stared at Ranita with a sharp and sarcastic gaze. “I’m talking to Olivia, it’s none of your business.”
“Mom!” Francisco awkwardly held Saniyah back and said, “This is Ms. Bowman, Olivia’s boss.”
Francisco looked apologetically at Ranita and explained, “Ms. Bowman, I’m sorry for the trouble. My mom is a bit emotional. She didn’t mean to be so loud…”
“So, you’re Olivia’s boss? Oh my, I didn’t expect you to be a young and beautiful girl!” Saniyah said with a strange tone, eyeing Ranita up and down. Despite having a child, Ranita had a tall and slender figure, outstanding looks, and an aura of a wealthy young lady. She was quite eye-catching.
