Last night… Eve said she had a business dinner with an investor. It didn’t make sense for her to attend the dinner alone.
Could it be that Eve was willingly taken to the hotel room by that fat and big-eared boss?
Ranita immediately called Eve, “Eve, tell me what happened?”
“I didn’t do anything,” Eve replied.
“Eve, I saw the trending topic! You must be hiding something from me… Did your company executives take you to the dinner? And why hasn’t the trending topic been taken down? Is your company planning to abandon you?” Ranita asked.
Eve knew Ranita was smart, and she had already figured it out.
“I talked to the company yesterday. They said they had connections trying to take down the trending topic, but someone paid a large sum of money to target me. The company didn’t want to escalate the situation, so they chose to remain silent,” Eve paused and continued, “Regarding last night, Elijah was involved too. He wanted me to accompany Isai Nash for a night to secure a 50 million investment.”
“Ridiculously enough, they planned to replace me once they got the money.”
Eve was also furious, but the company didn’t want to offend the people behind it, who surely had substantial capital.
Moreover, Eve’s contract hadn’t expired yet. If she resisted now, it would be like hitting a stone with an egg.

“Ms. Bowman, is there something you need?” Lena seemed to have anticipated the call, her tone neither urgent nor rushed.
Ranita even heard the sound of Lena sipping tea.
“Mrs. Murphy, did you have something to do with Eve’s situation?” Ranita furrowed her brows. She knew few people in the entertainment industry and was not familiar with its intricacies, so she had to go straight to the source.
“Ms. Bowman, as I’ve said before, I hoped you would agree to my request. But you didn’t listen,” Lena paused and chuckled elegantly, “So, have you made up your mind now?”
Ranita gripped her phone tightly. “Mrs. Murphy, I’ve already told you that I won’t interfere in Brendon’s affairs. You probably know him better than I do. I can’t influence his decisions.”
“The person you should be talking to is Brendon.”
Lena sighed lightly, “A few days ago, Brendon accompanied Shannon home and had a meal here. I still appreciate Brendon, and his relationship with Shannon has improved somewhat.”
“They had some minor conflicts, but their years of love are not fake. As long as you stay away with your son, I believe Brendon will be able to recover more quickly.”
After a pause, Lena continued, “I heard from Shannon that your son is very cute. If you find it difficult to cope with the trouble, you can entrust him to Shannon for care. I will also treat him as my own grandson and ensure he’s not mistreated.”
Ranita was truly speechless. No wonder Shannon was so annoying; it seemed to run in the family! Ranita coldly sneered, “Mrs. Murphy, if you desire someone else’s child so much, you might as well go home and sleep early. You can dream about anything you want!”
