Chapter 665 Restitution

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

“Do you care about Ranita?” Makhi pondered for a few seconds and asked in return, “Brendon, what is your relationship with Ranita?”
“The relationship of being married,” Brendon didn’t beat around the bush.
Makhi was taken aback for a moment. “Is she the wife your grandfather wanted you to marry? Ranita?”
When Brendon got married, he didn’t make a big fuss about it. Makhi knew about it, but at that time, his mother was ill, and he couldn’t leave, so he didn’t return to Kurima.
His mother had been sick for many years and had recently passed away. Combined with the matters of the company, he had only returned to Kurima now.
Makhi couldn’t explain his own feelings. His heart seemed a bit uneasy. He had caught a glimpse of Ranita among the ivy once.
Although they had never been close, whenever he was in difficulty and tossed and turned in the midnight hour, he could recall her bright and beautiful face.
“So, it’s her,” Makhi smiled and asked gently, “Did you get divorced from Ranita? I remember your fiancée was Shannon, right?”
Makhi’s voice was clearly gentle, but there was a faint hint of confrontation in his tone.
“Brendon, from what standpoint did you come to ask me these questions?”
Brendon knew that Makhi had ulterior motives.
“Makhi, the issues between Ranita and me are complicated, but you know what to do.”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Just as domineering as before.
Makhi still had a gentle expression on his face as he smiled and said, “Ranita is a good person. Many people pursued her back in school. I hope you cherish her.”
“Don’t hurt her.”
Brendon gritted his teeth. “Do I need you to tell me that? I have no further questions. I’m leaving.”
Brendon quickly left.
Not long after, the doorbell rang again at Makhi’s house, and Caleb stood outside the door.
“Mr. Terry, Mr. Stuart asked me to give these things to you.” He handed over a bag containing brand-new shirts and an envelope with cash.
“Mr. Stuart said thank you for helping Miss Bowman.”
The meaning was self-evident.
Makhi calmly accepted it and sighed silently. “Tell Brendon I’ve accepted it.”
Makhi wasn’t sure if what he did was right, but he knew that maintaining his original attitude was the best choice.
“Caleb… wait a moment…” Makhi went inside and handed Caleb a sealed bag. “Give this to Brendon.”
Brendon didn’t need to guess what it was when he received it.
Makhi also sent him a message, “I had it tested by someone, and it’s animal blood.”
After Brendon replied with a thank you, he handed the matter over to Caleb to handle.
“Brendon!” Just as Caleb left, Amiya’s voice came from the study, “I have something to tell you.”
Brendon frowned, his gaze heavy as he spoke, “Come in!”
Amiya had been guarded in Boulderland Mansion these days. She was irritable and angry, but sitting in a wheelchair, she couldn’t confront Brendon.
“Brendon, are you really going to divorce Shannon? Malachi is so protective, if the Stuart family clashes with the Murphy family, won’t that benefit others?” Amiya was a distant relative of the Murphy family, a branch family. She was considered Malachi’s cousin, but a distant one. She couldn’t compare to the main family. Being able to marry into the Stuart family was naturally achieved through some means.
Ewan couldn’t be relied upon, and Brendon couldn’t be said to be close to her either. Naturally, she wanted the Murphy family as a strong support. Shannon liked Brendon, and being able to marry him would be a great opportunity for her to become his daughter-in-law.
