Ranita tightly covered her mouth, afraid that any sound or breath would be heard.
She thought the person outside had left, but to her surprise, she saw a pair of red eyes through the peephole!
It was truly terrifying!
Ranita prepared herself mentally and took another glance outside. The person had moved back a bit, revealing a tall and thin figure wearing a hat and a mask, with only their eyes visible…
Who was this person?
Why did they want to enter her room?
The person lingered for a while, seemingly aware that they couldn’t get in, and eventually left!
Ranita quickly grabbed her phone and called Brendon.
“Hello!” The man’s voice was deep. “Ranita, is something wrong? It’s so late.”
“Brendon… Can you come to the hotel?”
“Okay!” Brendon didn’t ask any questions. “Wait for me, I’ll be there soon.”
Ranita mumbled in agreement, trying to calm herself down. It would take Brendon at least an hour to get from Boulderland Mansion to the hotel!
She hung up and called the front desk, explaining the situation. The duty manager quickly came to handle it, apologizing, “I’m sorry, ma’am. As you requested, we have already called the police station, but it may take some time for them to arrive.”
“It’s too late now!”
“I know it’s late, but someone tried to enter my room. How can I sleep peacefully in the middle of the night?”
The manager was reasonable. “Alright, here’s what we can do. We’ll provide you with another room. You can go there and rest for now, and we’ll handle the situation in the morning, is that okay?”
“Also, I’ll check the surveillance footage soon. We will definitely give you an explanation, ma’am.”
This hotel was not cheap, and the guests staying here were well-off. The manager understood the importance of the situation.
Ranita had no choice but to agree.
Just as the hotel manager left, Brendon hurriedly arrived, taking less than half an hour.
“Ranita, what happened?” Brendon’s hair was a bit messy, and he looked like he had rushed over.
“Brendon!” Ranita suddenly felt a sense of security. She rushed into Brendon’s arms and hugged his waist, her eyes welling up with tears.
Being embraced so tightly, Brendon was surprised for a moment before asking, “What’s wrong?”
“Let’s sit down and talk.” Ranita nestled on the sofa, leaning closer to him. “Brendon, can I lean on you?”
“Sure!” Brendon reached out and pulled her closer. “What happened?”
Ranita briefly explained, and the man immediately frowned. “I’m here now, everything will be fine.”
“You should go to sleep. I’ll stay here with you and Ayaan. I’ll take care of everything else tomorrow.”
“But…”
“Just go to sleep! Otherwise, you’ll be tired tomorrow.” Ranita obediently went to bed. As she lay down, she looked at Brendon, hesitated for a moment, and said, “Brendon, why don’t you rest too? You can’t sit here until morning.”
Ranita hadn’t thought much about it.
But when Brendon unceremoniously got into the bed and hugged her, she felt like she had made a mistake.
Wasn’t this inviting a wolf into the bed?
The scorching heat of his body overwhelmed her, and all that was left was a pounding heart. She glared at Brendon, “I told you to rest, not to get this close!”
With her soft body wrapped in his arms, so soft and fragrant, Brendon’s three cold showers went in vain.
But he was still pleased.
Especially when Ranita reached out and hugged him willingly, it felt like the hollow emptiness in his heart was filled.
