“Ranita, you shouldn’t have lied to me!”
If Brendon had known earlier, he would have urged Caleb to investigate thoroughly, or maybe he wouldn’t have had so many misunderstandings with Ranita afterwards…
Ranita pursed her lips, her eyes turning red.
Her voice choked, and her heart felt extremely uncomfortable. It was like reopening a long-sealed wound.
Even though four years had passed.
She still felt like she was suffocating.
“Brendon… You divorced me and slept with the woman you love. How can I not be angry?”
“What you said, about divorcing and living well separately, there was no need to be so disrespectful.”
Brendon’s heart felt equally pained, as if cut by a knife.
If he had known that Ranita still had feelings for him, that she still cared about him even just a little, maybe things would have been different…
“I’m sorry!” Brendon could only apologize; there was nothing else he could do.
Tears silently rolled down, and Ranita didn’t know why she was crying, she just felt the need to cry.
“Don’t cry!” Brendon was a bit flustered. “It’s all my fault.”
“It has nothing to do with you.” Ranita tried hard to hold back her tears, but found it impossible.
A gentle kiss pecked her, gradually wiping away her tears, eventually landing on her lips.
Ranita was pressed against the edge of the table, her waist held tightly, her body entwined as if by vines, filled with the scorching heat of a man.
As the temperature rose, Brendon held her waist with one hand and lifted her onto the table with the other.
Things became more ambiguous, and Ranita was kissed until her mind went blank. After struggling for a while, she managed to squeeze out a few words, “Don’t… Ayaan is…”
Brendon continued kissing her, his voice intermittent amidst his hurried breaths. “Just kisses.”
“If you want, we can go to the next room.”
Ranita blushed at his words. “I don’t… Don’t say such things.”
The woman’s lips were kissed until they turned crimson, radiating a morning dew-like luster.
Ranita’s throat still carried a hint of coquettishness. “Let go, you’ll wake up Ayaan.”
“Shh! Don’t speak!” Brendon whispered lowly in her ear, showering her with numerous kisses.
Brendon was truly skilled at kissing.
Not only was he handsome, but he also had a natural talent for it. With just a flick of his tongue, Ranita would become completely captivated.
“Brendon…” Ranita gasped, struggling to stop him, but found his kisses growing more intense.
If they continued like this, things would truly become uncontrollable.
Ranita held his wandering hands, her throat dry and hoarse. She was about to speak when suddenly, Ayaan’s drowsy voice came from the air, “Mommy, Daddy, what are you doing?”
In an instant, the passion dissipated.
Ranita awkwardly looked over, and the little one squinted his eyes, observing them. “Mommy and Daddy, were you kissing?”
“I’m sleepy.” After saying that, Ayaan turned over, hugging his blanket and fell back asleep.
Ranita collapsed against Brendon’s chest. “It’s all your fault!”
Brendon chuckled softly. “It’s all my fault! Ayaan fell asleep, so we…”
Ranita glared at him.
The ambiguity subsided, and they returned to their usual selves, neither of them mentioning what had just happened.
“There’s something I want to talk to you about…” Brendon began, but the phone rang once again.
This time, it was Caleb calling.
After a moment of contemplation, Brendon decided to answer. Soon, he pursed his lips and said, “Ranita, I have an urgent matter to attend to. Get some rest.”
Was it Shannon who had an issue?
Ranita wanted to ask, but then she wondered why she would even ask…
