“Ranita, this was an accident that none of us wanted!” Jedidiah patted Ranita’s shoulder. “You go rest and take care of Ayaan when you’re feeling better.”
Ranita obediently nodded.
To avoid worrying Jedidiah, she pretended to be asleep after he left. But as soon as he was gone, she opened her eyes.
How could she sleep?
Ayaan and Brendon were still in the ICU with their conditions unknown.
Ranita used to not believe in anything, but now she prayed silently for a miracle from above.

Since being hung up on by Ranita earlier, Shannon had been throwing a fit. When Amiya and Holly came to visit her at the hospital later on, Shannon immediately apologized through teary eyes. “I’m sorry for making you worry.”
“You, you! Can you just take sleeping pills casually?” Amiya scolded with a stern face but lacked authority in her tone. “Luckily, Cindy noticed it early, or else what would have happened!”
“Yeah! You scared us! The doctor told you to relax and stop overthinking. It’s not good for your condition,” Holly said sharply.
“I… I couldn’t sleep…” Shannon’s eyes became even redder, looking at Amiya with a helpless expression. “I didn’t do it on purpose! I’m sorry for making you worry!”
“You! Your body is already weak, and you keep going to the hospital every few days. When we get home, we’ll make sure to take good care of you!” Amiya looked around the empty room in confusion and asked, “What about Brendon? Didn’t he come back from Steland? Why don’t I see him?!”
“… there’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you…” Shannon bit her lip, hesitant to speak.
“Just say it! Did Brendon treat you badly?” Amiya asked.
“No…” Shannon said, lowering her head pitifully, her fair face filled with sorrow. “I actually find it hard to bring up this matter.”
Holly lifted her chin, pouting, and said, “Shannon, we’re not strangers. There’s nothing you can’t say! You’re going to be my future sister-in-law. If anyone treat you badly, just tell me, and I’ll teach them a lesson.”
Amiya, seeing Shannon’s distressed and reluctant expression, quickly reassured her, “That’s right, you’re going to marry Brendon, so you’re going to be my daughter-in-law. Don’t hold back! Tell us anything!”
Shannon nodded softly.
She said, “Brendon didn’t come back from Steland.”
“Because he met… Ranita there!” Shannon took a deep breath and bit her lip. “There’s something I think I should tell you.”
“Do you remember before your birthday banquet, Brendon went to Berlin? He actually met Ranita in Berlin and didn’t come back to attend your birthday banquet.”
After several years, hearing Ranita’s name again, Amiya still felt disgusted.
“Ranita? Ha, hasn’t she disappeared for several years? How did she suddenly reappear? But even if she does, it doesn’t matter. Brendon has divorced her!” Amiya said with disdain.
“But…” Shannon gritted her teeth, and tears immediately fell. “But Ranita was accompanied by a child, and that child looks a lot like Brendon.”
“What?” Holly exclaimed in surprise. “How is that possible?”
“How can the child look like Brendon? Are you sure you didn’t mistake it?” Amiya distinctly remembered that the results of the amniocentesis did not show a biological relationship. How could they look alike?
